Sorry if there was a thread on this already...I've been lagging behind. sweatdrop
I heard from someone that they have downloadable extensions for the FFVII PC version, where it allows the graphics to be on the Advent Children level. I was wondering if this was really true. If no one knows, then it must be a bunch of poop, ne? whee

Advent Children level? No.
There are though downloads; that can make FFVII look like an enhanced version of FFVIII though, but the project isnt complete; so not all models will have that.

Ooh, okay. I thought the Advent Children graphics were too good to be true. ^_^;; I would be happy with the FFVIII graphics though; I mean, the hands won't be chunky blocks. That's the main thing that bugs me in the game. I guess I'm just spoiled from recent graphics on games. Bad me. sweatdrop

Personally I love the chunky, look. It's as if they took 8 bit graphics and simply gave them a third dimension. Which is kinda what they did, but it's obviously not that basic. I didn't like the graphic style of FF8 and 9 was just too cutesy... though Freya's little highland fling was adorable.

well the graphics in VII were one of the things that makes it so famous in the series. it was the first to use a higher level of graphics, but as for the graphic thing for the PC version i have no clue.

I agree. FFVII's graphics were what made that game. I thought it would be interesting to play with upgraded graphics. I remember freaking out about how cool the game looked visually...I was still transitioning out of the SNES at that moment. xd

There is a hack out there for the PC version of the game called the Reunion Patch that replaces the blocky characters with their better Battle counter parts which makes the game even more of a blast to play. Also if you do it right the patch can also replace the character images on the menu with Advent Children images which i think is were you might have gotten the idea. 3nodding

The only problem with the reunion patch is that not all of the characters are covered; the NPC's will still appear blocky.
If you want to hold on for maybe a year; The NPC patch is about.. 33-50% complete; when it's a hundred percent complete; it will revamp EVERY model in the game; making it feel like a remake to many.
All and all; I thought the graphics of FFVII were interesting; kinda cute too. The major saving factor was the battle scenes, those were incredible; even to today. But I'd kill to play the game fully remade.

I think I'm gonna start off with the Reunion Patch first, and then when every model is patched, then I think I will re-set my game to install that as well. xd I'm working on the Reunion Patch for like, the 3rd time, since it hasn't been giving me anything but a black screen + sound when I run the game. I'm just not too computer-saavy, I guess. sweatdrop

What I like about the chunky graphics is that you get a clue that that particular object/item is movable or has action. I use that hint in games all the time. ^^
Ohhhhhhh how I'd like to see Ff8 with better graphics. I love FF8! 4laugh heart

I am so not patch-saavy. >_< I guess I'm gonna have to teach myself how to use them on my crap-tastic laptop. xd

Just remember to put the old files in with the new ones when you crate the new character files.
