In the area of forest closer to town, there are some mythical creatures that don't need to be fenced in, and only have been known to attack humans when attacked first, so don't need to be captured or quarantined.
The forest is large and dense, the leaves and bark of the tree and ashy color from there being no sun, the moon being it's only source of light. The monsters here get more dangerous the farther away from the city you get.
This is not the start of the forest, it's a description with a monster list, feel free to make a new thread to start your adventure~
The mythical creatures in the forest area are uncounted, but they consist of~
Pheonix: The Phoenix is a giant bird that feeds only on air. It lives for 1000 years and then flies to Phoenecia where it builds a funeral pyre on the top of the tallest palm tree it can find and dives into it. After nine days the Phoenix is reborn from the ashes.
Cinomolgus: The Cinomolgus prefers the Cinnamon tree, which is how it got its name (Cinomolgus means "Cinnamon Bird"). People wishing to collect cinnamon sticks throw rocks at the nest of the Cinomolgus, and down fall sticks of Cinnamon. This causes the bird much distress, and it often chooses Cinnamon trees that are very far from human settlements. It doesn't always choose Cinnamon trees, it just prefers it.
Cucuio: This strange bird is a friend to those working without light; he has lights on his head and wings which he will sometimes use to help humans see in dark places when they have no lights of their own.
Ercinee: The Ercinee are birds with feathers that glow in the dark and the appearance of a larger cockateil. Not much is known about them. They haven't ever attacked anyone.
Fairies: Fairies look like tiny humans with butterfly-like wings. They are quite unpredictible and can change shape or become invisible at will. Fairies are creatures of nature, and make their homes in the untamed forests in trees. They are shy around humans and hide quickly when they come near. Though they have wings, many fairies prefer to ride on the backs of insects and birds to using their own wings.
Hobgoblins: Hobgoblins are more like Brownies than Goblins; they like to look after children and will do household chores when no one is looking. Hobgoblins look like Brownies but are more ragged and disheveled as they prefer to live in forests instead of houses.
Amphisbaena: The Amphisbaena is a two-headed creature. One of it's heads holds the other at the neck, bending the creature into a circle. It moves by rolling itself like a hoop, and can go in any direction in this way. The Amphisbaena is the first creature to come out of hibernation in the spring. It has very poor eyesight and likes to eat ants.
Crup: A creature looking like a small fox with markings around a jewel on it's forehead, the crup like to wander the forest, hiding themselves from humans. The crup will occasionaly wander away from the forest, wanting to find a master, were they are then taken to the pet shop and people can see if themselves and the animal will be a good fit. The crup can choose it's master right after seeing them, feeling their personality. The crup is extremely loyal to it's master, and can sense their feelings, as to help them when they need them most and give them space when needed. The crups are usually black or a reddish color, but in places where an elemental magic is extremely strong, it will become an elemental crup and be the color representing the element.
Kneezle: The feline equivalent of a crup, they look like a smaller, with a gem on it's forehead with markings surrounding it. Some kneezle also leave the forest, seeing a master. Thy are taken to the pet shop. They are usually black in color, but can become elemental kneezles, and sometimes come in odd colors. Kneezles also are usually spoted or speckled. They can also sense their masters feelings, and lead them home in the dark if the master is lost, like a crup.
Wyvyern: Wyverns are related to dragons. Wyverns are serpents with two legs and the wings of a bat or bird. They are found deeper in the forest, and also found flying above the skies of Sarith.
Vipertooth Dragons: A dragon with four legs, a longer, slender body covered in pale, opal colored scales and wings that can reach a span twice the length of it's body, the Vipertooth Dragon can reach up to 12 feet in length, including the tail. The vipertooth, though it seems fierce from it's long teeth that protrude from it's mouth, it can actually be quite friendly qith the right people. It tends to shy away from humans though, and can be seen soaring the skies above Sarith from time to time.
