-The summer sun baked the earth on this day, rays so bright that it seemed to still the very wind itself, making the air heavy and unpleasant. Even the usually jovial stallion seemed mildly put off by the day, but as he often did, he was trying to make the best of it. He recalled a place near by.. a treasure trove of flowers all nestled within a ring of trees. Shade.. beautiful scents.. the crystal clear pond in the center. Surely they stave away the heat.
Walking, he let his wings flutter lightly, trying to produce as much wind as he could with the delicate apendages. Keeping to the shade as long as he could, he made his way towards the oasis in the distance, mouth already beginning to protest for water.-

She couldn't believe it, the two-legger person thingie had actually helped her wing. Bye bye bumblebee, hello open skies. Chirping like a little bird she speed about so rapidly everything became a blur that zoomed past one by one.
She flitted in a spiral motion noting shade. Delicious shade since her wings were nearly melting off. Keeping that area in check she swirled in a circle and landed looking about for a water source. Not too far off there gleamed a shining hope, an oasis was beconing to her. So as she always had, the little purple flutter started advancing toward that cool refreshing area that was just sitting there.

-Had she been some natural hue, he'd have likely lost her in the day. But purple, ecspecially such a vibrant shade, drew his eyes from their destination as he drew nearer to the waters. She seemed to be headed the same place as him, and before much thought other then 'another flutter' his voice carried out in a pleasant whinney.
It wasn't often he saw other flutters.. and when he did they were often strange mixes of other soquili. Never really his size. But this female? An honest to goodness flutter of a hue that shouted of sweet berries. Wings fluttering with soft excitement he picked up his pace, seeming to forget the heat of the day.-

She panted with the heat beating upon her wings and backside. Oh the horrible memories of those bumblebees that made her shoulders and rump ache all over. If she did find water, pertaining it wasn't an illusion, she'd jump right in and splash about giving not a care in a world. Besides who came out this far anyway into the strange heated land she somehow miscalculated about entering. Always a chore she noted to herself to try and be a wee bit more responsible.
Bah who needs it.
In any case her sense of direction lead her to an oasis of sorts teaming with a fantastic watering whole and omigosh look at the trees so green and lively. Chirping she pranced on in diving into that coolness that made her aches and pains just simply peel away.
"Yeeesh! Now that's what I call niice!" she sang merrily to herself diving in and out of the water that made her feel like a filly again. A faint image of another caught her eye causing her to stop in her playtime observing. Was he real or just a mean illusion of the sun. He could be so mean-hearted sometimes.

-Off she went, straight towards the water, and off and in. Playing and dunking around in a fashion that could only make the stallion grin. A playful one he'd run into! Hopefully she wouldn't run off either and would allow him to play as well!
It'd been awhile since he'd had a good play, his usually carefree mind having been reeled by the 'sickness' of his bestfriend, soon followed by the birth of her children. Yes... he could use a good day of play to make him feel like himself again.
As she stopped in her play, apparently having noticed him, he picked up the pace, trotting towards the water with a wide grin, pausing a few steps away to look at the soggy mare. Ohhh how he wanted to jump in. But introductions first, though they were said with a slight flip of his mane and a silly grin.- "Hello there! Mind if I splash around a bit too?"

She couldn't believe it. Another soquili in the- where was it exactly they were?? And did her eyes deceive her, was it a flutter she thought she was seeing? Mouth dropped with an awe she nodded with blinking eyes.
Wow. Its another flutter and he's purple... Wow. Oh wow how lucky can I be?
Regaining herself she giggled and nodded enthusiastically, "Sure. The water is so perfect. Come right in, there's plenty of room". she nickered still beaming at him. Never for one moment in her scattered memories did she recognize her own blood.
Dipping her head in she cooed and chirped shaking off the excess water. Lilac colored locks sprang back and curled shimmering in the sunlight that peaked inward like a curious child.

-He could not contain the delighted nicker that slipped from him as the 'stranger' agreed, and with a soft flutter he lifted himself above the waters, only to still his wings and let himself flop down into the cool waters.
Sputtering a large breath for the small stallion as he surfaced a wide laugh rolled from him.- "Wowwww. It is nice! I hadn't expected it to be so cool."
-Circling around and around in the water too feel the cold water rush against his sides, he lost himself in the playing for a long moment. And it wasn't until his heat soaked body began to feel comfortable that he once more turned his gaze to the similarly purple flutter. Pandering on with a friendly muse, he tried the shake the drippy locks out of his eyes.- "I didn't think I'd see another flutter when I went looking for water. I haven't seen many flutters at all, except for my sister of course."

The mention of a sister perked her ears just momentarily before she shrugged it off. It was just so awesome to see another in the shortened size as herself.
"Told ya" she squealed dancing in the cool water, "its so nice to meet someone that's a flutter. And ooh you have a sister. What's your name? Her name? she asked with a chirp of curiosity.
Flutters were few and in between it seemed these days. Either they were like the unicorns, non-existent (well not really), or they kept to themselves. It would be a freezing day in the mountains before she even saw an ali (what was it called) the horned winged ones. Anyway, it was so darn wonderful to see another.
In her excited nature though she forgot to mention her name. Clueless as ever was the hyper "little lass" as Torn liked to call her.

-It was quite neat really, to be able to just play and chatter. So far it'd only been the case with this stranger, Chitsa, and recently Nagual's friend Viola. Almost everyone else, though he was sure they meant no folly or trouble by it, always consumed his time simply showing how his wings worked. And poking and peeking around to check out his 'bizzare' apperance.
But with her that had been entirely skipped, and he was able to simply play and chatter, which gained an exceptionally cheerful chirping.- "I'm Ashling and my sister is Chista. Haven't seen her in awhile, she's busy having a family. But when we do see each other it's lots of fun."
Dipping his muzzle into the cool waters, he took a small drink, before contented himself with simply splashing and blowing air through his nostrils to disturb the water and cause bubbles to swirl about.-

She stood up spouting water like a fountain chirping away. He'd given his name so in turn it was hers.
"I'm dun dun dun" she paused with a swish of her head dramatically, "Shaylee the sugarplum fairy or well Shaylee for short" she grinned with a wink. There introductions were done and she was so happy to continue playing.
Flitting her wings she splashed about with no care in the world till she stopped with nearly a a breath remembering a name. Chitsa. She'd met that soquili she knew it. Along with the other flutter Lady S which was heck knows where since she took off looking for her love.
She splashed a bit more wondering where this stallion was from. Why for the life of her was his color so familiar? She wanted to stomp the ground to shake it loose but hey things don't work that way do they?
"I think" she announced, "That I've met Chitsa before a long time ago but I'm not sure. Not too many flutters come and go where I'm from, but when they do watch out. Just don't let me play hide-n-seek" she beamed with a giggle, "I tend to get my head stuck in trees".
She dove back down contining to splash noticing a shiny rock under her, which she went after because it was so shiny.

-Ashling was obviously delighted with her antics, watching her play with a smile that only grew, feeding his own playfulness as he slooshed water around him.
He nickered some at the name and title, there was a vague familiarity, but he'd not heard much more then a whisper about his parents. So there was not enough there to connect. Despite the obvious colors.
His ears lifted upwards with curiousity as the mare declared the little bit of information.- "Oh have you? She's quite nice! We used to play about the flower groves when we were younger. Used to try and patch our coats together and imagine what our parents looked like."
-He didn't seem particularly perturbed by it, always the placid sort, he'd just accepted the lack of parents as a fact of life. Though truth be told, he did look curiously on at mares and foals when he met them. Reguardless, it had been a fun game, and now he watched another as the mare dipped her head beneath the surface.
What would she come up with? Maybe he could try to find something similar. They could play a game of finding and matching.
What a wonderful, peaceful time had come from this seemingly hot and oppressive day.-

She splashed her head about trying to grab the stone, turning this way and that on the topside. Some could of sworn she was a duck with her head in the water as she wiggled and squirmed trying to get that one thing.
Finally with no breath to spare she came back up again gasping and giggling.
"Darn thing is too slippery." she mused shaking off the water. It still intrigued her to try later though. Looking over at the stallion she had a recollection momentarily, a faint remembrance of someone she pushed away out of her mind. Blinking she snorted with a start thinking she was just plain nuts to even think that. Nah he can't be related to Azure, could he?
That thought though filtered out into space though with her attention of being naive as usual to the matter. He left a long time ago, and Torn was the one she thought about these days.
"Hey" she grinned with a childish smirk, "Lets go fishing for those shiny rocks, Lots of em in here. Wanna race?" And with that she flicked her tail and danced waiting for his response.

-A nicker of amusement sounded as he watched Shaylee flail and struggle beneath the water, lilac legs kicking, pale tail weighted down with the water. He'd forgotten in his long absence from them, just how playful flutters tended to be, and laughter bubbled from him almost like breath.
Ears lifting to hear her words when she finally emerged, an exhubrent nod met her suggestion. Shiny rocks huh? That seemed a good enough reward for their game. Eyes slipping down into the water he waited until he spotted one, before he whinneyed loudly.- "Alright! Get set! Go!"
-He wasn't really one for competition, as he wouldn't really be upset if he lost. But trying was half the fun, so as soon as his words sounded he ducked his front half beneath the cool surface, scrambling to try and pull himself deep enough to attempt at his spotted treasure.-

Shaylee was so anxious, she heard the words, Alright! Get set! Go!
Plunging in the water deeply she fished about looking for the pretty stones, one she could take back and give to Feena (Since Feena was an adventurer herself of course). But, which to grab she wondered to herself, darting this way and that. Oh so many to choose from, and even they looked quite yummy as they shimmered at her.
This one. No that one. All so confusing in her jumbled little mind. At this rate he'd grab one before she did. Oh my gosh what if its the biggest, prettier than hers even. Nope wouldn't do in Shaylee's book. She'd find the biggest, most fantastic one if she had to dive really deep to find it. Just how full was this lake or whatever it was really she pondered with a flit of her wings.
Gotta find the most special one. Hey did it just move? Blinking she watched again. They were moving away? How could that be, a stone walking away. Puzzled she floated after the moving rocks, as they skittered away from her miniature little hooves.
