Hakim walked slowly down a narrow path between a bunch of bushes and trees. The wind blew lightly making the leaves smash together. It sounded so nice to his ears. He stopped and looked up. The sky was setting into night, yet it felt like it was ending too soon. The day had seemed to go by pretty fastly.

He sighed as he looked at the narrow path. It looked like just a few more feet there was an opening to a field. A rather opened field. His face was blank from any emotions as it normally was. Slowly he made his way out into the clearing.

The grass was tall, almost as tall as him. Some bits of grass were taller, but most was just below his neck as he stood there. It was nice, at least he thought so.

Sighing with contempt, Kirei-Chi smiled to herself as she lay in the field. The sun was just beginning to set, and the wind was just the right temperature. This was the first time Ki-Chi had been to this field, but she knew it wouldn't be her last. It was peaceful, and in some way fulfilling to her soul.

Hakim noticed white, black and red poking from the grass. Curious, he started to walk toward the colors. That was rather odd, why would there be that color here? He thought to himself. Don't be stupid. It's another Ulaya. A cruel voice entered his mind. He closed his eyes. The only thing that could make this day worse, that stupid voice. Oh shut up, you couldn't live without me.

He stopped moving closer to the other. If the voice was right, and that was another Ulaya, it was best not to disturbed them. Though, they probably already knew he was there, since the grass had been moving making lots of noises.

Ki-Chi's muscles tensed. What was that? She thought. It was too loud to be something like a rabbit. She concentrated on the scent... Ulaya. A male Ulaya. I hope they're friendly... she thought to herself before standing up to make herself known.

She looked around her and finally spotted him. It was a tannish golden Ulaya, walking towards her. Wanting to seem as friendly as possible, Ki-Chi introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Kirei-Chi."

Great, look she heard you. The voice said as it soon vanished. It normally didn't stay too long when others were about. Which was perfectly fine with him. He closed his eyes for a second and then gave a smile to the female who he finally saw.

She was pretty. Her hair was different from any other ulaya he had see. "I'm Hakim" He said with his normal calm dull voice. He gave her a half bow seeing how the grass was in the way. "Sorry if I was interrupting anything, I'll be on my way soon" He said to her.

"Oh no, that's alright! I was just thinking that I wouldn't mind some company." A small white lie, but this Ulaya seemed... gracious? Possibly shy, and interesting. She didn't know that many Ulaya, and pounced on any opportunity to meet new ones.

She walked a little closer to him to get a better look. He reminded her somewhat of a siamese cat, but with more golden hues. The way the sun was glinting off his fur made him seem almost surreal.

"You sure?" he asked looking at her as if he could read her. "I wouldn't have wanted to disturb you if you didn't want to be." He said with a fake smile. Though, it looked rather real. She seemed really nice. He didn't move from the spot he had stopped in. He also didn't want to be rude and just leave. Maybe she actually wanted company?

"Of course I'm sure." She purred, lying back down. "What's a sunset without someone to share it with?" She nodded her head to a place beside her, inviting him to come lay down.

"So where are you coming from, and where are you headed? I don't want to keep you if you have somewhere to be." She hoped he didn't; she realized she had been getting a little lonely out here by herself, and this Hakim was making that ebb a little bit.

He smiled. This time it was a real one. "Well, I'm headed in no place. Just wondering where ever my feet take me." He paused. "So I could say that I was meant to be here, since I have stopped here." He said simply with a nod.

He took a few steps closer to her. She was right, about the sunset. You couldn't watch it alone. Though, he hadn't really planned on watching it. Well, he hadn't really planned on running into anyone. He watched her lay down. It seemed like the grass didn't block any view of the sunset at all. "Nice place to watch it set too." He said with a smile.

Tail thumping happily as she learned Hakim would stay with her, she made herself more comfortable. Looking up at the horizon, she let out her breath in contempt.

She looked over at her new companion just standing there. "Would you like to lay down?"

He smiled. "Of course." He said as he slowly laid next to her. His mind was racing a little. She was really nice to him. The voice soon came back into his head. Oh shut up. Just kill her and get it over with. She's nothing but a waste of time. Why did that voice have to come back. He tensed up a bit.

Ki-Chi felt Hakim tense, and asked, "Are you okay Hakim? Is the ground not comfortable? We could find another spot to watch the sunset." She grew a little concerned, thinking he might be uncomfortable with herself rather than the ground.

He sighed and shook his head for the moment. "No, it's nothing to do with the ground, or you" He said hoping he didn't make her think that. He smiled. It was a secret he didn't know if he could tell her. What would she think of him? He was insane. Though, he had it under control at the moment.

'Oh, alright..." She replied. Now she had no idea what might be wrong. She knew she just met him, but she hoped he would open up to her. She felt sorrow in his sigh, but she wasn't sure what it meant.

"Is something else wrong? Anything you want to talk about?" She said, not looking at him to make him feel more comfortable. Instead she let her gaze fall on the setting sun, but her ears leaned in his direction, not wanting to miss the softest mumble.

"If I told you, I don't think you'd believe me." He said with a smile. It wasn't a very believable thing. The voice that lingered in his mind. It was not his at all. She'll only laugh at you if you tell her. Just like everyone else has. The voice said with a snicker.
