....A Sonic RPG?!

Not much info at all about this game, besides the fact that it's Sonic, it's on the DS, and that it's being made by Bioware.

...Talk about a tease. I'm dying to see screenshots of this now.

Sonic Rivals 2
Yet another one that'll pass me by...I have yet to play the first Rivals on the PSP (mostly because...it's on the PSP : p). Still, should be interesting, and rejoice, Tails fans!

Wheeeeeee. Loads of new sonic games. Mario and Sonic at the olympic games (for Wii and DS), Sonic Rush Adventure (for DS), Sonic Rivals 2 (for PSP) and now the Sonic RPG (for DS). Sonic is going to be working realy hard, considering that his 16th birthday is tomorow. Happy Birthday Sonic!

Bioware have yet to make a bad game, so the RPG is hopeful.

Yes, but a Sonic RPG was totally unexpected. Those 3 letters alone proves that ST has run out of ideas.

By if some strange turn of events and ST suddenly thinks about doing a Soinc FPS game....I give you all my word that I will burn every piece of Sonic merchandise I own (check my profile)

Since when has doing something unexpected been equivalent to running out of ideas? I recall a certain plumber has 3 RPGs, if not more.....

Which is why Mario isn't as orginal as he was before.

Fans and game reviewers keep saying they want a Sonic game that can live up to his 2D titles, but the developers keep on dishing out the most un-Sonic-like games. Not that its necessarily a bad thing for the fans, but I can't see are series making a comback when it strays so far away from the formula that made it infamous.

Actually Marios first RPG was on the SNES as I recall, back when he was still quite "original".

The way this RPG can be good is if they find a way to focus on the speed formula, such as making most attacks look fast or powerful, making it real-time, or if it is turn based, a turn based system where you have to think fast because the enemy will keep attacking. Also, RPG worlds are known for there huge worlds or maps, and consider a completely explorable world map with mountains and Oceans, and Sonic running all around it to the various locations. biggrin Sega is still producing a game designed to live up to the 2d oldies, Sonic Rush Adventure, and that will be the fifth well-recieved sidescrolling platformer they've made since Sonic Advanced 1. Also one can consider Secret Rings to be a sign that they're still full of fresh ideas focused on elements of speed. in my opinion, the Sonic game's are taking a turn uphill.

Who's gonna rock the place...

I'll be curious to see how this Sonic RPG thing turns out.

As for Sonic Rivals 2, pssh, I know that'll turn out fine. ;P

...No one can touch this.

Aaron no offense, but since you see good in all Sonic games no matter what strange turn they take, would you be for a Sonic game that was rated AO?

No. Where do you see Sonic taking that turn? confused Cuz I don't see it being even remotely possible for an official game of that nature to come into creation. Conkers bad fur day was crap and shouldn't be imitated.

As far as the Sonic RPG goes, I'll keep some distance. Just incase there is some bad fallout. However, since this is being made by Bioware (who by the way, have never made a game I didn't like), I'm thinking that this may be a great game.

Sonic Rivals 2 will be nice, seeing as how I liked the first.

It was a rhetorical question.
