ninja Hallo.

So. Music. Love it, hate it, never heard of it?

Personally, I'm a complete audiophile. It reaches nerdy proportions sometimes, and it got worse this year when I went away to university and became exceptionally close with music kids who introduced me all sorts of new and ridiculous things, like Georgian chants. xd

Yes, I have Georgian chants...and folksongs from everywhere...and musical theatre...and a massive stock of classical music...and a massive stock of alternative and rock and indie and instrumental and classic rock.

It used to be that I couldn't write with music on-- it was pretty much the only thing I couldn't do while listening to music. (my cd just stopped. I need a new one now...problem fixed.) Now I can kind of take or leave it, and sometimes I downright prefer to have music going while I write certain scenes.

But what do you guys think?

I think that there are certain characters who demand that there be music on in the background. I always have music playing. Always. it was a really good thing that Faith liked music too, because our room never stopped playing music...even when we watched tv.

Anyways...writing. hm Certain stories of mine have their own playlists. I made a CD for the RLNC (rather, a soundtrack) and Ancash and Adorna have their own playlist and will have a soundtrack as soon as I figure out which songs I want where. There's a playlist for general writing, there's a playlist for specific stories...Music inspires me, it gets me pumped up, and sometimes it even makes me do spazzy dances...which inspire bouts of creativity which then spawn moments of pure evil. Like the one this afternoon at work, when I was on a ladder and Secondhand Serenade's Vulnerable was playing...and I spazzed out, tipped the ladder, hit my head and still came up smiling--much to my manager's amusement--because I had an incredibly evil idea. ^.^

I can't write without music sometimes.

One of my stories I can't write enless Marroon 5 is playing others are mixed but some are Avril.

Dido is my newest obessision though I really like her songs, epecisally 'White flag' and 'See The Sun'

Muisc helps me set my tone and mood...without listening to music my writing is actually much worse than it is now.

Alright I swear I'm bi-polar...yesterday I could talk about nothing for hours, tonight I just want to burry myself into a story and not come up to breath.

I've got over 800 songs on my Ipod, and surround sound in my bedroom. It's like a concert everytime I turn it on!

I wish I had surround sound in my bedroom.

But, I have enough music on my itunes that I could potentially go four days with non-stop music, never hearing the same song twice.

*dies* my brothers tell me that's too much music.

I couldn't live without music. That's why I joined the band.

Since i don't have an i-pod or t-tunes or other such thing, I turn on you-tube while I write, or do anything on the computer.
I have a cd player in my room that was salvaged from a garage sale so I can listen to my fav CD's all the time. And some of my dad's.

Mine depends on my mood and my location and company.

If I'm writing a certain scene that I came up with while listening to a song, or a scene that I had planned out in my head and later found a song to go with it, I listen to that song. If I just need to have music on, I listen to Japanese music or Chinese music or music in a language I don't know (except for the Numa Numa song, because it's just not good for writing, mainly because my hands are busy being flung in the air while I dance). An exception to that would be "Comme Un Homme, which is the French version of the song "Like A Man" from the Disney movie Mulan. I need to get more French music on my mp3 player.

I have two computers: One old one and one newer one. The old one used to be in my bedroom to write, with no Internet; I brought my files to this computer on a floppy. But then the disk drive stopped working, and I had to bring th other computer down here to the basement to network it so I could transfer my files.

My sister likes to listen to music on this computer. Loudly. Songs like "Like A Virgin" and "YMCA" and "Macho Macho Man".
Therefore I need loud music to drown that out.

I write to anything blues-y stuff like Nora Jones, and some Joss stone.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 24, 2007 4:43 pm

I LOVE Norah Jones...she's on ever single playlist I've ever made. ^.^

I've recently become borderline obsessed with Secondhand Serenade.... they're on the Cd that we play at work, and I loved it so much I went out and listened to the entire album, And I'm loving it. We'll see if I love it enough to actually buy the entire album though.

Any new obsessions?

oooo never thought of listening to french while writing.

Dude! I like Zazie, french rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now what are they saying?

Whenever I want to listen to something I don't have on my ipod or itunes I go to radioblogclub.com because it's free and has almost every song I've looked for. Only problem is you can download the songs and put them on your ipod....but then that's illegal isn't it. (when you don't pay for them that is)

Person.

female pop singer, actually. think of kind of like.... a French Norah Jones meets Aimee Mann meets.... pink? I don't even know how to describe it, but if you're going to listen to anything of hers, I'd take something from Rodeo or Made in love. Best two albums ever! I do like this new one, but not as much. And of course, itunes doesn't even have her other albums. *sighs* and she's really hard to find anywhere other than in a record store in new york... which is where I got my copies. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmn I'll stop now. ^.^
