Wear your SPF boy! Wouldn't want you getting cancer.

Fortunately the water down here is perfect! I'm going camping Saturday and will hopefully get a lot of exercising done!

dunno.. I didn't know it was really possible to feel so many emotions at once..

Earlier today, I was in a happy good mood. I'm almost done with my internship, I cleaned the house, and packed up to go to the beach. I arranged for my brothers girlfriend's parents to visit the house and let the dog out to pee in the back yard... Everything was honkey doree.

Until...

After a 3 hour drive to Belmar New Jersey, I ate a very late dinner (11pm), and then at 12am I get a call from my brothers girlfriends mother saying that my dog was hit by a car, and his left hind leg is broken.

Apparently when they got there, my dog bolted out. Either he got excited over another animal outside, or a biker, or a walker, or he bolted because of a thunder bolt he saw? Its hard to tell, no one understood why my little Oscar bolted.

Regardless, this a*****e in a car didn't break, and hit my dogs hindleg just barely, and now my 14lb dogs left hind leg is broken.. ;-; A victim of hit and run. You're only supposed to be going 15 mph around my drive way because we're right next to a middle school, and a sign that basically says "slow your b***h a** car down to 15mph", something my dog can easily out run. Thus, I conclude the a*****e was speeding.

The vet said my dog is very healthy, his bones are really beautiful (thats because we give him vitamins!), he is very healthy, my brother says that Oscar still sings "I love you" when you tell him "I love you", and the doctor also said that Oscar had eaten food, and he really needed to s**t and piss. And that Oscar was aware of the car, and was running.

My brothers girlfriends father says that even with unbroken legs, Oscar still ran really fast.

The vet is going to put a pin in my dogs leg to keep it straight, and he will be in a cast as well.

I just hope that my dog just learns not to bolt outside in an ungated area, and that he still has his youthful demeanor about him.. He was always prancing and all that, we often joke that Oscar is a gay dog (partially because even though he is neutered, he still humps men with deep voices.)

I hope when he is better he will be all jolly and active again.. and that he runs just as fast as he did before the accident. ;-;

I miss my dog.

and I'm still upset that I haven't gotten to sit on the beach.

As I said early, too many emotions going through my head. ;-;

It would've really sucked if my dog died, cause I nearly lost my left hand for him. And I'm left handed. So I would've been screwed if I had.

I'm never taking vacations without my dog again.

Oh G-d that seriously sucks. I hope little Oscar's leg heals and he runs twice as fast as he did before he broke his leg! And try to have some fun! You're on vacation! 3nodding

awww I'm so sorry! People can be so cruel sometimes; at least they got to him pretty soon? I love dogs, so I know how you feel.

Try to have fun on this vacation, and I'm sorry it started off so lousy. sad

Did you get the driver's license plate? Or at least the make, model, and color?

Nope, we didnt get a liscence plate number.. It was speeding. The guy didn't even stop..

I went to the vet today to see Oscar. Oscar is happily drugged up. I'm glad he is on the drugs because I'm sure it really hurts. Oscar is really lucky. I love that doggy so much!

There will be no vacation now, instead im just gonna stay home, and soak the sun by my pool. We came back because if we stayed on vacation, we would've been thinking about Oscar the entire time and it would've sucked anyways.

The surgeon was in middle of another operation so they couldn't tell us when Oscar's leg will be operated on. But I do think we should have Oscar back here by sunday.

I feel really bad that it had to happen on my brothers girlfriends parents watch.. I mean they're really nice people, and I like them a lot. And I actually wouldn't mind if my brother got married to this girlfriend at all (even though she has an annoying tendency to step out of her bounds.)

The leg is currently in a splint, its very cute doggy splints, its got lil paw prints on it.

My dog is still very alert (although drugs cause delayed reaction), he is still very shakey from the shock. I'm hoping he learned his lesson not to bolt like that into the street. He still responds to Oscar. biggrin

I've devised new safer plan for people that visit the dog while I'm out on vacation - Walk around and walk in through the back, cause if he bolted there, he would just run into the backyard, which is gated. I would prefer to take my dog on vacations now though.

Around the house, my dad and older brother keep going into this "should've would've could've" way of thinking, and its really been irritating me. Especially because no one was expecting Oscar to do that, and that way of thinking really hurts more than it helps.

Oh my goodness! Poor puppy! *huggles* Poor you! *Huggles again*

I know how you feel though, I have a little Jack Russell, and she gets sick often, and it breaks my heart. It's not really the same, but you know...

I'm a LEFTY too! *Left handed high five*

Oh my god... I am pretty much going through the same thing... Me and my family just recently came back from vacation in North Carolina.... My dog wasnt feeling well when we left, and we figured hed be fine in a week when we came back. Well, he wasnt, and we had to send him to the vet. Turns out his white blood cells are attacking the red ones and he has a 50% chance of living crying ... so you can imagine how I feel now... The weird thing is, that it is almost the anniversary of my other dog dying for years ago..... I loved that dog alot, she was my best friend, and now my other one, who I love the same as my deceased one, might die..... Im a mess right now......~cries~ I miss him so much.... Id be lost with out him....

Omg.. I'm so sorry your dog has leukemia! ;-;

That must really suck. How old is your dog? ;-;

I hate seeing poor lil dogs suffering...

My dog is healing quite well. He still has a cast, which will be changed again in another 7 days. We nick named him "Thumpy" and "Captain Morgan" for the thumping sound he makes when he walks. We even sign his cast as well, I wrote hebrew on it "get well soon", my lil sister played tick tac toe on it.. and we also wrote "GO THUMPY!"

Oscar is learning how to lay down, and even poop with his cast on, we are so glad because it was kinda sad..

Unfortunately, we cannot bathe the dog, so he kinda smells bad. But he doesnt look bad, we gave him a haircut.
