AP11 - Single coil pickup for all positions The AP11 single coil pickups are almost identical to Carvin's vintage AP6 pickups from the 1950's and 1960's. Guitar Player Magazine said "these Carvin AP11 pickups are terrific. With Zero adjustments to their heights, they all produce very usefull tones. I don't know what more you could ask of single-coil pickups. It sounded great every time, producing warm and jazzy lows"
C22- The C22 Series is our newest improved design and comes standard on most Carvin guitars. Alnico V magnets give a rich, smooth sound. With the close spacing of the pole pieces, you won't get dropoff when bending strings. The C22 pickups have one coil with fixed pole pieces and one coil with adjustable pole pieces like the original Gibson PAF pickups. Notes and chords will flow out of your guitar with incredible smoothness. Neck position with black coils and bezel.

Comparatively, to get a pick guard and a set of 3 pickups would probably run you way over the 150 range. I'd say go for it if you want to try out the carvin sound. Personally, I'd love to hear one but the only carvin instrument I've played is my buddy's 6 string bass.
It's a sweet deal man.
