earlier today, I got a some mail (YEY). I just recently graduated, so this was a card from a relative congratulating me. Now, I normally don't disclose the amounts of money I recieve (if any) but when I opened that card and saw that $200, I didn't see money, I saw lolita. honestly, I did. it was like, decopauged images over the money. O___O;
so I was just curious to know if anyone else has ever experienced anything like that.
oh, and LETS HEAR IT FOR THE CLASS OF 07!

Seriously, I did that too! My grandma sent me a huge chunk of money (I won't even say), but to put it this way, she met the quota I was planning on having before going to college.
I saw the check and did a quick calculation. Every two/three months a new dress, if I have no social life! X_X
Wahhhh, but raves are expensive too! crying

anyways...
I did not get Money from Family for my Gradutaion...
My present from them was letting me go on a Forgein Exchange...I know i should be real happy about that...but it was part of school...not a celebration of Graduation... sweatdrop ...
although i did get money from family friends...about 200 in total...but i am going to an Anime convention in September...so unfortunatly..i can not see lolita unless i see nothing from that convention...lol...

Lucky. I worked my butt off to graduate three years early, I did... and what did I get? A piece of paper. A piece of paper, and a congratulations. If we didn't have much money, I wouldn't be angry. But we're not exactly poor. AND I missed my Bat Mitzvah.
So, congrats. Enjoy your money.

No graduation money for me for another year--and that money'll probably end up going into things I need for work. Suits instead of frilly skirts. Rent for an apartment. That sort of thing.
In the mean time, though, I'm going to open up my website again and offer commissions in order to fund my desire to purchase lolita while I don't have a job at school. I'm also looking into whether or not I can work as a lab monitor for institutional pay--that is, I fill out a time card every week and get paid to do my homework in the viscom lab. XD;
They pay minimum wage, but a few hours a week should be able to allow me to buy a dress or skirt every other month or so if I'm thrifty about my other expenses.

Unfortunately, my family on both sides are on a tight, tight budget, and I too have recently graduated HS (WOOOHOOOO).
In other words, it is up to me to reward myself and work for my graduation money... Booooo! :..<

Wooooo ... so hopefully I'll have more money for lolita [and my other ridiculous habits], soon.
I opened up for commissions on my site like I said earlier that I would. :3
Also, I received 65USD from work for funeral leave that I wasn't ... expecting. I missed out on about 29 hours of work, but they paid me for 8. I didn't know that part-time employees had that benefit.

I graduate next year.
But even when I do, I'm not expecting money I can spend on loli stuff.
My family's cheap like that. XD I swear I'll seriously need to find a job once I go off to college.
I still have some birthday money, but it's not enough for anything major. razz

I do that a lot, too.
I know it's that whole "Don't count your chickens before they hatch" deal, but that's what I do.
Everytime I get money, I don't think "Saving for college!" I think "New Baby OP!"
So, someday I'll be broke and un-educated, but I will have wonderful clothes!
