As always these days, the spectators for exhibition matches at the GTB have thinned out; where at one point nigh onto thousands of people would have been bustling through the stone bleachers, looking for seats and crying for blood, now only a few hundred die-hard blood lusters have taken up seats; it seems that a natural propensity for spectators to die in all manner of gruesome ways has turned people off to the whole event.
Still... might as well give those here a good show...
With a grin, the young man runs a hand back through his unruly blue locks, calm azure eyes shooting over to the man who, moments from now, will be trying to kill him. He's not quite sure how he ended up here; and he's got to admit, he feels kind of outta place carrying this huge sword, even now that he's gotten a bit more used to this new world he'd ended up in. I mean, really... a sword? But apparently they're not so uncommon here; the man ahead of him seems to be wielding blades as well, despite the technology that exists all around... really, this place is just kinda strange.
At least he still has blind moon... the cool plastic of the revolver's hip rests comfortably against his left hip bone, the pressure a reassuring presence through the his black, silken long sleeve shirt. He's still not sure if he'll draw against this guy... but if the man's thin blades turn out to be more than he can handle with Trump Card, he's not gonna hold back out of sympathy either.
These thoughts are neither here nor there, though; hell, the match hasn't even started yet. So, for now, he shoves concerns and thoughts out of his mind, forces his body to relax, and sets back to wait, blade held in his right hand and slung over his shoulder so that the massive sword's flat rests against his back, left hand loosely held in a pocket of his ragged denim jeans. So as to not be completely immobile should the guy across from him try to rush him, the young man staggers his stance so that his left side is closer to the man, which will allow his free hand time to move and defend while he brings his sword to bear. 'Course, if the guy lives up to the "honor" stereotype, he should have plenty of time to take a real stance if he's attacked.
If.

(( Fast forwarding a few months later so Snow would be able to use his magic abilities again. ))
It was a simple request that he wouldn't deny himself the luxury of enjoying. Since the return of his powers, it was more of an itch for revenge than the sheer joy of regaining the things he had lost in the tournament match that ended - regrettably - without his participation anymore. After all, it is for the victors only, no?
And yet...
His red pupils gazed back softly at the calm azure eyes the man was giving back, the intention for this match obviously loaded and ready to begin. His weapons - again, the two katana/kodachi hybrid - were reinforced and made better to withstand harsher impacts from last time. With help from a decent blacksmith and fairy - who also helped him regain his lost powers - it was time for him to finally test out the full might of his recovered ability and weapons.
By bashing the guy in front of him without holding back.
The only thing that the man would be concerned about is the revolver that was closely tucked under the man's left side, hinting the possibility of use in battle. Swords and projectiles aren't hard to parry or dodge - but bullets... He'll have to goad the man a bit to be overconfident in his abilities, or else he wouldn't be able to last long if the man decides to use the revolver immediately once the match starts.
Both swords were by then unsheathed - the right one held single-handedly in a long sword style, while the left was held more at the center point, above the tsuba guard and on an extended hilt which covered the dull part of the katana - a kodachi style grip. Flipping the left blade over so that it was held in a dagger like hold, he flexed his arms a bit, bringing both of the swords to his left, as if readying for a slash from afar.
"..."
Enough time passed for both man to ready themselves for battle. And with a start, he took the initiative by dashing in a circular arc from his position towards Trei's right side, going for a simple slash with his right blade horizontally, aimed for Trei's right torso. The dash was moderately paced, so Snow could shift accordingly in response depending whether or not the man would use the revolver -- or the massive blade on his right side.

"Enough time passed..."
The gambit had payed off... his opponent had indeed given him time, so they would be facing each other on equal footing. The nill had one that hand... but the first hand is just that, the beginning of the game. Far from over.
In those few moments that his opponent waits, Trei brings Trump card up, over his shoulder, and around to his right side, allowing one of the rectangular blade's corners to hang just above the ground so that the weapon's flat faces his opponent, his right arm visibly tensing with the effort it takes to control the large weapon. For a moment, he holds it like that. breathing deeply... then, he pulls his left hand from his pocket and shifts his grip, his right hand sliding up almost to the base of the spade shaped handguard, left hand gripping all the way down to the rounded bottom of the blade's jet black grip. This causes the blade to swing back slightly, so that it runs parallel to his staggered stance; however, the shift in stance also gives him exponentially improved control over the sword's motion, so that he is capable of better facing Snow's charge.
Speaking of Snow's charge... Since Trei's weapon is on his right side, and Snow is coming around from that direction, Trei's reaction is also simple. Since his weapon has a longer reach, Snow will enter Trei's strike range before Trei enters his; thus, Trei simply pivots on left foot, an unorthodox move that shifts the back side of his stance rather than the front, causing the sword to pendulum back, his spine popping slightly as his torso swings back. However, like all pendulums, what moves back...
As Snow enters the edge of Trei's strike range, Trei swings in his own horizontal arc, his massive blade whipping through the air with surprising speed despite the visible strain it puts on Trei's body. The strike, if it hits, should connect on Snow's left shoulder, and while it probably won't cleave the man in half, he might not have an arm left afterwards.

Snow was betting on the fact that the massive blade Trei is using took effort to move around. Especially on the momentum factor - the power behind Trump Card might be devastating if its strike landed, but the consecutive time lapse between the swings would lag.
Unless Trei was using the weapon like a Chinese large Sword, the opening between the swings was where he would strike.
But for Trei... The massive swing coming at Snow's left was quick indeed, but with a few shifts on his footing, he buckled his right leg so that Trump Card would whiz by over his head, and place Snow in a dash stance.
His weapons might not have the same reach as Trei's long blade, but taking into account the fact that Snow hasn't stopped moving, and his weapons were geared on his left side...
Applying all the weight onto his right leg, Snow dramatically increased his speed and went for a simple right slash right towards Trei's right torso - this time, aiming higher so that the lethal end of the blade would strike at Trei's right ribcage, just beneath the armpit.
His left blade is still cocked defensively on his left side, just in case...

Snow is right; Trei is unable to swing his massive cleaving sword with anywhere near the ease that his opponent can maneuver his own, smaller, blades. At least, not through arm strength alone...
So, what Trei does is roll the grip in his hands, so that the blade's flat becomes almost vertical, which does two things: first off, it allows the blade to catch some resistance from the air, which will make what Trei's about do to hurt a bit less. Second, it allows Trei to swing his right leg up off the ground and pivot on his left, slamming his shoulder into the flat of his blade in order to reverse the weapon's directions much faster than normal. Given the fact that Snow has boosted forward to slash, he'll should have a hard time dodging the bludgeoning effect of Trei's "Counterattack;" though, by that same token, the flashing katana will probably slam into the spade-shaped pommel of Trei's weapon, and, at the same time, the shoulder behind it ((provided, of course, that snow doesn't dodge)). Still, a shallow cut past his sword's pommel is acceptable given the possibility for concussion or cracked bones that Snow faces, not to mention the fact he could be taking akilling blow...

It was a well thought out move, and even Snow would have to commend the opponent's thinking - especially on the instance.
However, if it were not the use of Snow's right slash, things might've worked out for Trei in the short run. But this was not the case to be addressed at hand right now. For instead of continuing on with the slash, as Snow looked from the corner of the eyes and saw the action being initiated, he immediately brought his right arm up instead and used it as a buffer for the incoming counter, while spacing out his footing on his second step.
He may not be able to change course easily because of the dash, but...
The flat edge of the sword crashed into Snow's right arm. Had he stayed in place firmly, cracked bones and perhaps concussion would be Trei's lucky day. But that's where the footing comes in. Using the force of the sword slammed into Snow, he reversed his momentum using the pivot point on his left heel to reduce the initial damage, bleeding it off with a circular, clockwise spin so that the Trump Card becomes more like an object to kick off of. His right arm cushioned the blow, but it doesn't mean it didn't hurt. Quite frankly, the bleed-off was just barely enough to give some parts of the arm sore spots, but not enough to impede its progress.
And speaking of which, if Trei would recall the left blade held on his left side -- as he spun away from Trump Card, it would indirectly bring his left katana to bear close enough and slash once more at Trei's right torso.
Remember - it was held in a dagger-like hold, so the speed of which the blade can slash is thus increased in proportion to the spin Snow's making to veer to Trei's right side.
The right side still held the other katana.

This guy's not half bad...
Luckily for Trei, he's been granted a pretty solid opponent for his match; the man can move, and he's forcing the relatively new fighter to further adapt to controlling his heavy sword. Like this instance, for example; When the man blocks Trei's bludgeoning attempt, Trei has to instantly react or be shredded by the bugger's off-hand weapon.
Luckily, the man posts off of Trump card as he pivots. And in those moments in which Snow pushes against Trei's blade and reverses direction, Trei has time to react as well.
First and foremost, he needs to regain control; simple enough, he simply swings his right leg forward and beneath the grip of his blade, so that his left knee almost touches the ground and he is practically kneeling, sword flat still held against his chest.
From there, he reacts so as to both avoid Snow's off-hand attack and regain his footing... that is to say, he pivots so that his left knee comes up, his right knee goes down, and the flat of his blade ends up...
~Clang~
Right in the middle of his opponent's slash. The impact of the hit rings through Trei's chest, making him lose breath for a moment... but it also transfers inertia into the young man's body, allowing him to post back and regain his footing fairly quickly, a small trickle of blood running from his left shoulder where some of his opponent's blade slipped past his makeshift 'shield."Immediately upon gaining his feet, the young man hops backwards, putting some distance between him and his ******** sandbagging me...
2 hands have been played, with no one pulling ahead... it'll be intriguing to see how this game turns out...

The opponent is retreating. Now is the time to continue the attack. The left has been parried, but no worries - Recoiling the blade back to his hip after the first clash, the man charged again to keep on the pressure on, occasionally flipping his right blade back and forth from a dagger-hold to a katana-hold, firstly to incite the man to flinch and attempt prediction at which blade he'll use.
Again he went for a moderate speed slash at the side holding Trump Card, going for a strafe-by motion as if repeating the same antic dealt just a few strikes back. With Trump Card held at the opponent's right side, if he could injure the dominant hand, then...
Certainly the man was still trying to adapt to the hefty weight of the massive blade, but that didn't meant that Snow must give some distance for the man to recuperate and be ready again --
Retreat is not a good option, especially for a sword like that. Usually the sword uses revolution around the body as the basis for its assault - along with the footing, even the ground can be a lethal force to use if used properly with Trump Card.
If, of course, the opponent can realize by then.

Who said anything about retreating? Trei was just using Snow's slash so that he wasn't kneeling like a sitting duck. As he hops backwards, he brings his blade away from his chest, rotating the massive blade using its round grip so that the edge once again comes into play. Now, as Snow charges in, the blade is handled in what looks almost like a traditional Kendo stance, except the blade tilts from high left to low right, as well as in to Trei's body. Again, Trei isn't strong enough to just up and down slash the blade without some lead, and his opponent's not giving him the chance to take it.
"Tch..." As Snow comes in, Trei yanks back his left arm and pushes down with the right, causing his blade to hammer down at his opponent's incoming left shoulder, right about the collarbone area. This slash won't have the power of the first slash... but it will also not have the loss of control, and with Trei's range advantage, it will give Trei those split seconds to react as his opponent nears.
As his blade falls, his left hand loosens its grip on the massive blade... if his opponent keeps sandbagging, he might have to stop playing all conservative like...

Admittingly, Snow was the one who thought more of the act as retreating. Temporarily, on the afterthought. Closing in the distance rapidly, parrying Trump Card with his left side is a bit risky, and Snow can't really hold back all the weight without taking some damage as well if this continued on.
So, he decides to raise his left dagger-held blade up, slanting 50 degrees down to the ground. That way, as the massive blade caved towards his left shoulder, the held weapon would redirect the weight down in a sloped descent, changing the trajectory indirectly - just enough to let it fall to the ground without the need to be worried about a counter or smashing in his left collarbone area.
Immediately the loud clang of the weapons colliding caused sparks to fly from both blades, the skidding sound of the contact evident of the friction applied to the weapons itself.
To make up for lost momentum, Snow, while stressing his left arm to keep the contact steady, would skid the left weapon closer to Trump Card's hilt before he lashed out with a quick stab towards Trei's right ribcage with his right katana.
It's not that hard to figure out that eventually the weapon holstered on the opponent's hip would be used, so performing a stab instead of a slash would give Snow some time to react... and keep enough pressure to forestall the opponent from withdrawing the revolver.

Trei grins as his blade hits Snow's... the man is once again creating a post for him to work off of, an extra support in terms of wielding his heavy blade. However, rather than slide down as Snow was expecting, Trei's sword... bounces?
Basically, as his opponent shoots in for the stab, Trei reacts by whipping his left arm down and forward, into the handle of his blade with enough force that Snow can probably hear his wrist popping, using torque from his upper body to add to the force of the strike. This causes three things to happen:
First off, and depending on one's priorities most importantly, Trei's upper body pivots, causing Snow's stab to slice through the air millimeters away from Trei's stomach rather than through... well... Trei.
Second, the force and strategic use of Trei's right wrist as a fulcrum cause the blade's long handle to whip around in an attempt to bludgeon Snow right between the eyes with the flat, black metal disk at the bottom of Trei's sword grip. However, for the sake of a stronger and faster attack, Trei doesn't rotate his wrist or the weapon at all, so thanks to the twisting of his body, his own weapon bites into his left shoulder. If it hits, though, the force of the strike will be well worth the cut.
[Follow-up Combo: Null if HammerStrike is countered/evaded] Third, it places Trei in the position for an immediate follow up attack; that is to say, his body twisted to the right, his right arm pulled back, his left arm crossed beneath it and resting near the bottom of the long black grip, and his blade held high. If Snow falters after getting hit with Trei's bludgeoning attack, Trei will immediately wrap the fingers of his left hand around the base of his weapon's grip and pull his left arm down and into his body as he follows through on the torque created by his hammer attack. Meaning, he will pivot and drop almost to a kneeling position, the motion of his left arm causing his right to bring his blade around in a whipping, powerful slash that should hit a stunned Snow starting at the back of his left Tricep and, given the force, slam him forward with Trei's blade falling across his back at an angle between his second rib on the right and fourth on the left. Given the amount of torque and effort being put into the slash, this attack will be roughly twice as fast as Trei's initial slash attack, and quite capable of cleaving through bone.

(( A bit hard for me to imagine the action...so correct me if I misinterpret it. ))
"!"
That was unusual. There wasn't constant pressure felt on his left flank - more like a hard jolt when both blades came into contact with each other. But because of the lack of force on his left flank, it allowed Snow more ease in wielding the blade to his content - especially in this case.
The blade was well positioned above the height of his left shoulder for the previous block, so moving it around was just as simple as moving his arm about if need be. As soon as the right stab was outflanked by Trei's pivot, there was the impulsive urge to drop his left blade and grab hold of Trump Card's handle and revolve around it - delivering another slash with his right flank at point blank range after the revolution.
But that would lower the defense on his left flank, making him vulnerable to a counter without proper gears to defend.
So as the handle went forward with the intent to smash right between Snow's eyes, he immediately brought the handle of his own left katana up - in the dagger hold - and gave a hard sideway bash to the handle of Trump Card in an effort to divert the direction to Snow's right...
Which would indirectly bring his left katana's lethal edge dangerously close to Trei's left neck, considering their distance together. The left was held in a dagger hold, so maneuvering the sword was simple as rolling the wrist around the object blocking its path.
This would divert the bludgeoning effect in place, as well as bring an extra factor for Snow to use - if by chance the diversion is successful, Snow can use the base of his wrist to lock Trump Card away, just beneath the connecting point of the handle and the massive sword; the harmless part to hold. With only a split second to take advantage of this opening - if the opponent doesn't quickly respond - the blade held on Snow's right would be flipped horizontally parallel to the ground, and be brought into a left slash towards Trei's left ribcage.
Obviously it's not going to go as planned - but it's the best he can do at the moment to preserve both his defensive capabilities and offensive capabilities intact.

Diversion works both ways.
As Trei sees that his attack will be deflected, he rolls his own blade, once again placing the flat of the blade in between him and Snow. This will cause his opponent's blade to slide across the spade's front, the edge of his sword colliding with the the engraved suits on Trei's cleaver. It will also put them in a momentary lock...
In which Trei's right leg, obscured to Snow's vision by the jumble that is their combined blades, hurtles forward and up to kick Snow in the balls.
Hard.

(( Oh you b*****d.... ;_; ))
There was a momentary silence as he felt a pain beyond...well, physically known parameters of agony and suffering. His lungs expelled the breath he was taking in with a sudden cough, as his legs crumbled under him lifelessly.
But to make up for it -- Just as he fell, he went for a hard swing with his right blade, rolling it around his hold so that instead of it slashing horizontally - he would return the favor by slashing in a clockwise arc right up between Trei's legs...
In which, he hoped the pain would be more intense than the one Snow is reeling from.
