Trotting out of the small clump of tepees, Midnight Shadow gazed towards the mountains as the sun barely peaked above them. She was awake before most of the other Soquili and their humans. She knew that her human was still asleep, but once the sun cleared the mountains, he would be awake. Flicking an ear, her feathery earring quivered slightly. She hadn't seen Apple-oosa in a while-not since she had heard about him being a father.
She didn't seem to mind it at all. In fact she had taken the new of him being a father to someone else's foals was very relieving for her. She was scared of what he might have said if she told him that she was falling in love with him. Shaking her head slightly, she knew that deep down inside she was wanting a mate for herself. She just didn't know how to find one.

Rhapsody trotted peacfully through the morning mist and fog. He had not slept well through the night and had gone for a walk in hopes of tiring himself out. But it had not worked and now he was on his way back home before his grandmother woke and found him gone. He was almost to the meadow, as he had to pass through it before going to the river, where his teepee was. At the edge the stallion stopped and took in a deep breath. The morning air was always the best as it was crisp and cool from the night.

[sorr about the delay. ^^;]
Midnight Shadow paused for a few seconds to gaze around the meadow area, her ears pricked up high, and she spotted a brightly colored Soquili. Interested in this new Soquili, she slowly started to trot towards it, wondering what gender it was. The pink colored pelt told her that the Soquili might be a mare, but the size of the Soquili lied. Shaking her head, slightly confused, she let out a soft nicker at the pink Soquili, wondering if it had spotted her.

Rhapsody's ears perked at the sound of hooves approaching and a soft nicker that accompanied them. He turned in the direction that the sounds were coming from and found another Soquili coming towards him. Through the fog and mist he would not quite see who it was nor could he tell whether it was mare or stallion. "Hello?" he called back uncertainly.

"Hello," she said in a voice that barely carried over the distance between her and the stallion. She halted after saying a greeting, wondering if the other Soquili even wanted to chatter with her. She hadn't stopped and thought about that before she started to head towards the stallion. Flicking an ear, she waited for something to happen.

"Who is there?" Rhapsody called out at the stranger. He wasn't in the mood for any fights though he really hoped nothing would have to come to that. Maybe it was just another Soquili who was lost or who was just wondering about like him and not looking for any trouble. He really hoped that was the case.

"Midnight Shadow," she said calmly. Hopefully the other Soquili would say their name. She wanted to trot up closer to him but her shyness prevented her from going any further. She had been closer than this to any other Soquili but the fog was so darned hard to see through. Closing her eyes, she counted to ten slowly in her mind before she opened her eyes again.

So whoever was out there was clearly female. Now all he had to do was find out whether or not she was friend or foe. "It is a pleasure to meet you. I'm Rhapsody and if you don't mind my asking, are you a friend or foe? If a foe is what you are, I do not want any trouble here." he called back to her. She seemed friendly enough but sometimes one could be easily decieved.
