After that wonderous night the shining mare known as Star Catcher would have slept in his embrace forever more. But days and nights let alone weeks wait for no one as do pregnant tummies bursting with life.
It had been some time now that Star noticed her assumptions and Celendria's theroies were correct and growing with each of her breaths. Flight seemed impossible as she protruded out like a squishy grape rippening in the sun. No matter really for her heart lied upon the greener grasses that her mate thundered upon.
She smiled craning her head down for a drink of the crystalline blue water she so adored, letting it briskly parch her throat refreshing her very being. Her only hope now in life was that Nanaki and her could contyinue the cycle known as life and raise their children as they should be raised.

His steps were uneven, his breath labored as he limped down the worn path that his beloved had walked along only moments earlier, golden eyes bright despite the pain that he was in. His recovery was coming along slowly, but in all honesty, he couldn't have cared less about the state he was in. His mate was going to have his foals... it just seemed too good to be true. Although he'd never been one to believe in Karma, he couldn't deny that the possibility of losing everything he'd gained for his past transgressions scared him to death.
Shaking that thought off with a toss of his head, he grunted in annoyance as he stumbled clumsily, barely catching himself before he hit the ground. Despite the fact that he was used to having injuries like these, it was more of an irritation now than it ever was in the past- he was supposed to be supporting miss Star through her pregnancy- not the other way around. He knew that she didn't hold it against him in the least, but he still felt guilty.
Coming up behind her slowly as he saw her bend to take a drink, he smiled and hobbled next to her slightly enlarged form. Nuzzling her belly affectionately, he offered her a bright grin as she lifted her head. "Good morning, love... is everything all right today?"

As he lightly nuzzled her belly she smiled appreciatively nickering with a toss of her flowing mane as her head rose up slowly from the water's surface. A light melody could of been heard, playing in the background as she turned to face him. Her eyes shining with a soft allure beconed back to him with undying love. He still carried those scars, those bruises from where his heart had forced him to go leaving her sorrowful yet kept those wonderments sealed from his view.
"Right as rain on a summer day my dearest. Seems the little ones are becoming more active, t'will be time eventually" she murmered nuzzling him with soft breath and a sweet rumble from her deep chest, "And how is my wondourous knight in shining armor this day? she mused smiling that her eyes half closed twinkled raidantly back at him.
She held no grudge against who or what he had battled in that span of time. She could never feel ill will toward anything or anyone if nature wanted it that way. Arriving from her home; Dream Valley, she had felt insecure almost being in such a strange world new and undiscovered territory,. But soon found others to talk to and finally the love of her life lying so pitiful beside her was forever a dream brought to reality.

Molten amber hues twinkled with mirth as he returned the nuzzle with one to her forehead, speaking in a low, teasing tone. "Wondrous? Hardly... but I am well, beloved. My steps are growing more assured each day- I can only hope that my limp will be gone by the time the little ones come." He brightened visibly at the mention that it was almost time... his muscles twitched, despite their weakness, with barely restrained excitement. He was going to be a father...
His battle with Sukari had not left him unscathed, in more ways than one... he had trusted her... and having to fight her had torn him apart. He knew she was still alive, but he also knew she was hurting, physically and emotionally, and knew he was the cause. He hadn't told anyone about his conflict- there was a time and place for that, and it certainly wasn't now, with foals on the way.
That resolved, he shook off his depressing thoughts, offering a bright smile to his lifemate and another nuzzle to her belly. "Have you thought about what you'd like to have? A daughter or a son, I mean..."

She relished the thought he'd placed within her soft contemplations - The wonderful dream of the children whom seemed to be wrestling with one another inside her womb.
"Hmm I think a son and daughter would be wonderful, but any born of our love shall be my heart's desire, Red" she cooed with a momentary close of her eyes before they flung open quite rapidly.
"Ooh".
It was simple yet direct with her voice nearly cracking. Her belly seemed to do a 360 all in one shot as if the tumbling brood had finally caught each other. Then a softness in her womb before another nerve wracking jolt.
"Nanaki... Red... I think its time" she breathed horsely from her throat staggering a bit on the second eruption. Her body feeling rather warm and uncontrolled with another swift pain, yet it wasn't life threatning. Her eyes filled with concern as they lied upon her mate. What if she didn't know what to do? What if something went wrong when she delivered. Fretting as her feet shifted she couldn't help but sigh with a whimper, still worrying for her beloved's condition. Could they really pull through and have these babies? Then her mind shifted to the old lore of a native placing them in baskets once they emerged unto this new world.
Glancing around her she scanned for any two-legger in the vicinity realizing it was simply her and Nanaki to pull through this.

He nodded in agreement and nuzzled her gently again, inwardly noting that whatever they turned out to be... he would love them with all of his heart, like his beloved lifemate.
His doubts had resolved themselves a short while ago- he no longer was afraid to fail as a father, as long as she was by his side. He would do all he could, love his children, and could only hope that fate assigned them a kinder destiny than winding up like his parents. He hoped his children would never have to grow up like he had.
Golden eyes widened in panic, fear, and excitement at Star's weak exclamation that they were coming... what should he do? He'd never been around a female giving birth before... and he was not sure he could handle being with the mare he loved while she was in pain, and he was helpless to do anything. Shifting from one foot to another in an uncharacteristic display of nervousness, Nanaki's gaze shifted to the plains behind her before meeting her own. There was no one to help them- they were on their own.
Pushing aside his uncertainty for a moment, he offered what he hoped was a reassuring smile as he guided her to lay down on a soft patch of grass, supporting her form with his own as she did. "It's all right, love, I'm here... the two of us will get through this, I promise."

Her eyes held fear like two confused souls mirroring through the soft cyan hues. She wanted her mate not to burden himself with more pain of being "helpless" along with his healing injuries.
She lied down quickly with ease resting her body against the spot chosen with Red's best judgement. Her tail laid itself out like a fan as her mane flowed in pink and blue swaying like a timid stream full of grace. Each burst of pain, each grueling moment was closer to the truth of the love two beings could share.
Celendria had been kind to explain birthing to the young snowy white mare adorned with precious blue livid wings, explaining various things such as timing and the occasional swift pain from delivery.
Star knew what was needed, she knew what to expect yet her heart beat with such ferocity she could barely stand it. She wanted to remain calm, be strong for her love that nervously held a strong vigil over her, but yet she was frightened herself. Fear of something terribly going astray or forlorn if she should move or breathe the wrong way. She groaned now and then reaching outward to nuzzle Nanaki for reassurance.
Smiling up at him she felt a surge all most inhumane rip through her entire being. Wenching her eyes shut she whimpered and reached once again to her mate. A moment of silence, save her breathing echoed from her unsettled womb.
"Thank you my dearest Red. Thank you for being with me and remembering..." she murmured closing her eyes once more.
Now she would remember what they fought for, what they believed in as love, the start of their lives together, was just beginning.

Despite his nervousness, apprehension, and sudden fear at the thought of losing her, he offered a shaky, but genuine smile as he nuzzled her neck. "There is no need to thank me, love... I am only sorry I cannot take your pain for my own, bear this burden for you." He laid his head next to hers and smiled in reassurance, although the gesture was as much a comfort for him as it was for her.
What if something went wrong? What if they lost the children before they even came into the world? Dear lord, what if he lost her? The gods wouldn't be so cruel, would they? They had only just found each other and been together in blissful contentment for such a short time... he abruptly halted his train of thought, shaking his head to clear it as he snorted in agitation at himself. He was supposed to be reassuring her... not the other way around.
"I will always be with you, my Shining Star... through hell and high water."

The pain, the darkness, the silet sound of one's breathing was all that had emerged in but a few seconds. She pondered with weary eyes how long she slept. How long had she been in slumber since the birthing took place so very... long ago?
Her insides nearly ached as if something had pushed itself or themselves out of her womb only a moment ago. Looking upward she noted the moon sitting high in her cradle among the thousands of twinkling masses set in the darkened canvas around it.
Had she slumbered all day into the silent lucidity of night where only her breathing and the soft rustling of the stream were her only companions? She stretched feeling a twinge of pain in her side then it flickered away as lightly as a feather. Her senses brought her to two baskets sitting neatly at her sides one red the other white. It seemed even the gods were listening in her plea for a successful birth. Her first concern was her mate that she didn't notice was with her. Panic struck for a moment before she realized he was nestled near her exhausted as she had been. Smiling she grunted with a movement of her legs neaning in closer to be near him.
Magic. She knew that was the cause and effect of that joyous day into night.
"Red. We did it. We're a family now my love. May the stars shine down upon us forever more."

The fiery stallion woke with a start, glancing around with a distinct feeling of disorientation before the golden orbs widened in realization and panic. What had happened? How could he have fallen asleep?! What kind of mate and future father was he, to be slacking off like he was?! Attempting to shake off the feeling of self-loathing that threatened to consume him, he turned to the mare at his side.
His first thought was a wave of pure relief that swept over him when he saw that she was all right- awake, even- and some of his self-depricating thoughts were subdued. Then, shock and awe overtook his expression as his gaze fell upon the two baskets placed beside them. His foals... his children... a wave of pride warmed his being as he stared at them. A mix of himself and his beloved... they were beautiful.
Warm honeyed hues turned upon the winged mare that looked more gorgeous to him than ever, a wide, beaming smile upon his face as he nuzzled her cheek, a feeling of ecstasy overtaking him. A family... he had a family now. Words deserted him at this moment, but he knew they were not needed. The awed silence was answer enough, and the faintest sheen of happy tears in his eyes told all that he would never be able to say.

((Hope you don't mind some time jumps... I'm not careful we'll have little mares before we know it.))
She smiled watching his golden orbs wondering herself where their future would carry them now. Responsibility was the main thing that rested with them both- children were their salvation and happiness.
And what could they be she wondered. Winged. Unique. Different. All this and more tumbled in cascading waterfalls of thoughts as they poured into a never ending reservoir within her. Would they carry tempers of proud warriors? Or would they be the dreamers that scouted the skies? Why wasn't it possible they could be both?
Her heart nearly fluttered each time orbs of cerulean fell upon those two blessed baskets. This was their world, Nanaki and hers that sat there waiting for the right moment.....
Breathing softly she closed her eyes resting for a few moments. Red was with her and the babies. He would be there when they opened and that made the winged beauty feel even more cherished than when she flew alone in those canvas filled nights of black where only a shimmering world of dreams existed.
Scratch. Whinny. Scratch. thump.
Fluttering open her eyes to the daylight she realized she was dreaming yet again, such a pensive mare she was.
Scratch. Whinny. Scratch. thump.
"Wha?" she stuttered glancing toward the moving baskets, "Red? Red? I think its time. Red they're ready" she nickered getting to her feet quite rapidly, eyes anticipating what would emerge.

|| Ack! I'm so sorry e.e; No, I don't mind time jumps at all... and I don't mind past RPs, so I hope you can forgive the lateness on this ^^; ||
Pride and excitement flooded the expression of the normally stoic, fiery male as he nuzzled his beloved, golden orbs trained on the baskets before them. He'd never had anyone close to him experience parenthood, and he scarcely remembered his parents at all- would he be a good father?
A pang of nervousness assaulted him at Star's declaration that they were emerging- what if they didn't like him? As childish as it sounded, he was afraid that he would somehow end up like his own father...
Shaking those thoughts away with a toss of his head, he offered a bright smile to his mate and nuzzled her cheek, keeping his gaze trained on the two baskets before them. Would they be colts? Fillies? Perhaps one of each? He had no doubt that he would love them whatever they were, but the possibilities made him wonder.

((No worries luff... ahaha spoke too soon))
Her eyes glistened as both baskets shimmied and danced it seemed in place in their own little choreographed ways. The mare's gaze bounced back and forth wondering, hoping the babies would be healthy and love their parents. Her very essence would carry on in these children, be they air or land dwellers.
Noting the strings on the little enclosures she tugged on one then the other, stepping backwards lightly to let the foals emerge from their baskets. To her amazement what appeared were two girls each chosen in colors of their respective parents. One frosted white with pinks and Nanaki's symbols with an adorable set of wings. The other was a deep hued red like her beloved carrying her hair color and golden symbols as her own.
She couldn't help but squee seeing them as her little whinny was filled with so much adoration and mirth for her family. This was the beginning and certainly not the end, she'd place her every hope on that.

His eyes were wide in wonder and awe as Nanaki gazed upon the newly emerged foals... his children... his daughters. One bore a striking resemblance to himself, with her mother's markings in gold, and her mother's wing color in the short mane upon her head. The other was more similar in color to her mother, with beautiful blue wings tipped in fire, and bore his tribal markings. Pride and love shone brightly within the golden hues as he gazed at both of them, trying to produce a sound, but failing as he couldn't think of what to say.
An affectionate smile graced his maw at Star's ecstatic whinny, repressing the urge to join her with a loud bay of his own. A family... he had a family, now- and a beautiful one, at that. He could only imagine how many male suitors he'd have to scare away from his little girls when they were older.
"Hello," he spoke hesitantly, but there was no mistaking the love and tenderness in his voice as he addressed his newborn daughters. He had a name in mind for one already... and he was fairly certain his beloved had one picked out as well. 'Aquene' meant 'peace' in his native tongue... and he couldn't think of anything more fitting for one of the little bundles of joy that brought him such.
