I believe that these are the 3 most popular Anime series in America that is still ongoing. I see Naruto and Naruto Shipuudden as the same because that's how it is in the manga. I personally love all 3 but I have to say that I'm into Bleach the most at the moment even though I am way behind on it. After that it's Naruto then Death Note for me. What are your favs?

Naruto and DeathNote for me. I haven't seen much of Bleach, but from what I hear theres no character development.
DeathNote is one of the best detective-suspense type mangas/animes I've ever seen. The way the characters are... and their personalities its just amazing, you know? The development gets better and better.
As for Naruto, I LOVE it. end of story. The characters all have different personalities that you love, hate, or just despise. The action is great, and ya know they don't waste the flashbacks XD I love that, I get tired of flashbacks for nooooooooooooooooooo reason lol. Story is great too, gotta luv em ^.^

If you love the story in Naruto now you are going to love Shippuuden even more. You should watch Monster. The story starts off great and it gets better as is goes on. It's 74 eps but it is worth it. Some people compare it to Death Note. It's my favorite anime series of all time. It's what I get my avatar's name from.

For me, it's Death Note then Naruto then Bleach. Story's most important to me so Death Note wins in this case. Naruto's got less of a story development but it has very nice character growth. Bleach is an alright show, it just doens't do it for me.

Yeah, the story does have its ups and downs. I followed the manga so I'm not possitive about that part you meant, was it the parts where Light lost his memory? I didn't like the story at the point so much but I possitively loved Light's character. Gone was Kira and there was this completely determined boy who wants to do good. For me, the story picked up a bit when he got his memory back and then it all just flops a couple of scenes later. >.<

Naruto, then Death Note, then Bleach.
Naruto is my fav in these three because of the fact that it blends in with my personality. I love cool anime that's for a younger audience and then, grow deeper as time goes on. That's the kind of story line I like. Naruto has to be my favorite mistake. I say that only because I used to make fun of someone for being absolutely obsessed with it. Then they let me borrow the first 25 episode and I then understood why she was like that. lol and I grew obsessive too. lol Shippuuden is frikkin awesome and I need to catch up with it. lol
Death Note.... L... yeah... I loves me some logic in my life and Death note fill that up... to a point (coughvolume7cough) after that... The story fell for me. I went on strike. STRIKE I TELLZ YA!
Bleach... I really... REALLY don't understand the obsession here. I'm not obesessed with this show in the least bit. I mean it's I can bare it and it's watchable to me... and I enjoy the episodes I watch... but why's it so good to all these people? I dunno. I'm not gonna put it down. It's on this post of mine because I enjoyed episodes i've seen and I LOVE the songs! their songs are kickin' it man! Not to mention Uruhara's da bomb! But this is just one show I couldn't watch back to back to back...

Yeah I agree with Paige on the Bleach. It's the same for me.
As for those of you who thought the plot of Death Note went downhill after L died, you guys should check out the second Death Note movie. The ending was sooooo much better! They should have done it in the manga!
I'll put a synopsis of the change for you guys:Quote: Misa dug up the Death Note, and regained her memories, but could not remember L's name, so she made the Shinigami Eye trade a second time, with Ryuk. She visited Light at the compound, determined to see L again and reveal his name a second time. When she arrives, L reveals to Light that he has decided that Misa is definitely one of the Kiras and will catch her in the act of writing his name in her Death Note. Rem is furious that Light has arranged Misa's demise, and writes both L's and Watari's names in her Death Note. Both of them collapse to the floor soon afterward, supposedly dead. Rem, having used her Death Note to extend Misa's life, dies. After L's death, Misa came down and met Light, giving him her Death Note again. Light wrote his father's name immediately, shocking Misa, and arranged that he should die after bringing Light his Death Note. True to what was written, Soichiro arrived with the suitcase, but opened it to reveal that it was empty, and he remained standing. Light was shocked. As the rest of the investigation team converged on Light, L re-emerged, alive and well. He revealed that he'd had the Death Note Misa dug in the forest stolen and replaced with a fake. L discovered that deaths could be arranged up to 23 days in advance, as well as that anything written could not be changed. Three days prior to Rem writing his name, he had written his own name on the other Death Note, arranging to die peacefully at the maximum limit of that 23 days. Rem's writing of his name had had no effect because his name had already been written in a Death Note, though he lamented Watari's death. Light, in frustration, attempted to use a piece of the Death Note hidden in a secret compartment of his watch, but Matsuda shot him before he could do so. As a last-ditch attempt to eliminate his opposition, Light tried persuading Ryuk to write their names in his Death Note (and extend Light's life). Ryuk, however, refused to do this, and instead wrote Light's name in his Death Note. Light pleaded, to no avail, and finally died in his father's arms while Misa watched in horror. L was given possession of all the Death Notes, but informed Ryuk, much to the Shinigami's dismay, that they would all be burned. Afterward, Interpol closed the case. Twenty days later, after being congratulated by Soichiro, L died peacefully while eating his sweets, with a picture of Watari next to him. One year after these events, the Yagami family visited Light's grave. Sayu reveals her belief that Light died in the fight against Kira, and Soichiro hoped only that Sayu would never find out what had really happened to Light. Somewhere else, Misa wondered about the gaps in her memory and felt that something was missing, but she did not know quite what. The movie ended with Ryuk flying past Tokyo Tower.

IMO, all three are overrated. One Piece pwns them all! scream
Death Note is just... creepy.. *shivers*
Naruto? It's okay, but it gets boring pretty fast...
Bleach? The main character, Ichigo, SUCKS!
One Piece has not even failed me yet. It may have fillers as well, but it NEVER gets boring. =) Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper are a hilarious triplet. XD
***Note: I'm judging based from what I've seen from subbed animes. Note that I do not watch dubbed animes. The voices just kills it and you know how they turn something that was meant for teens and adults into a kiddie show. Just kills me.. >.>

Well I wouldn't go so far as saying that they're overrated. They probably just don't suit your taste. They're extremely popular so they must have some good points.

I was a fan of Naruto once after kinda comparing it to bleach, i got less interested in it. then came along One Piece and my impression was "Oh wow. So far this anime hasn't disappointed me like Naruto and Bleach."
I'm not too sure about Death Note thought because I don't really watch it since I'm not a fan of horror or creepy stuff and all.

I tried watching bleach when it came on adult swim and i didn't think it was bad, but i missed a few episodes and the next thing i knew the whole plot and story had changed. So there goes bleach. I keep hearing its good so maybe i'll check it out some day.
Never seen the death note anime (coming soon to adult swim), but i LOVE the manga. I actually heard the anime wasn't very good.
I'm gonna have to go with Naruto/shipuuden.

I think I watched Naruto and Bleach at around the same time at each other. After the story progressed, I decided to discontinue Bleach because I don't see enough character development from them. I was more interested in Naruto because the characters actually change, in some cases drastically, over the show. (Though it does take a while)
Death Note though, the plot is extraordinary. I wouldn't say it's horror per se....more in the detective genre. But yeah, it doesn't suit everyone. I just happen to like anime with extremely talented geniuses. And yes, the manga is much better than the anime.
