 Ness double checked her basket a second and third time before she lept out her window to fly off. She was pretty sure she had everything she wanted. Then again, she wasn't very good at this as she hardly ever done it. She shrugged and smiled, leaping out of a window up into the sky.
It wasn't for a little while that she finally descended, at a cottage with bells on it. She wondered if it would be rude to just go into his room how she does with Yuki's house. She then remembered meeting some of his family. Maybe she ought to use her manners and do things the proper way. She waltzed around to the front door and gave a gentle but firm knock on the door.
As she waited, her tail fluffed about as it did in her normal moods. She was feeling a lot more like herself again, finally.

"Did you hear that?" Ovelia turned her head and looked at Bruce who were attending some of his precious bushes. Her ears twitched"I think I heared someone at the front.
"Hmm?" you did?" Bruce asked, without looking up from some blue roses that he noticed needed extra care, some had already wilted.
"Yes" she said and gave him a stubborn look. Ovelia was tired today and had no intention of doing anything but sunbath. "It cant be for me anyways, I barely know anyone." she yawned and her tail waged slowly, annoyed.
"Okay okay." he muttered and put down his scissor. Brushing his hair back with his paw he started to walk around the house to the front. Coming up from behind, he recognized Ness's blue fur.
"Hey?" he shortly said, with a smirk.

Ness pivoted on her heel, turning to look at him. "Hey yourself, Mr. Valentine. I came by to see if you would mind to do me the honor of having a picnic with me today?"
She stood there waving her tail all around watching him with a coy gaze. "Say you will?" She smiled wide, one of her pretty smiles she had when she wasn't being cocky or arrogant.

"Hey you" he said, smiling. "Today?" he looked thoughtful, but his eyes were bad lairs, the smile in them show too well. "I was kinda busy..." he mumled but then he just waved it away. "Of course, Nessie girl, I would love to." he stretched out again, cracking his paws fingers. "Were getting kind of tired of working."
Turning around he walked to the corner of the cottage.
"Ovelia!" he called out with his dark voice. "Im going for a stroll, dont wait up, 'kay?"
A feminine voice called back. "Alrighty Bruce, but be safe, alright?"
Ovelia stretched out, happy to be having a day alone without Bruce complaining about his roses. The weather had been killing hot lately. and as if she didnt already have enough on her mind. "Have fun!"
"Of course, dear!" turning back to Ness he tossed his hair back. "Im now free for the rest of the day, so where you plan on taking me, hm?"

Ness smiled wide and proud, feeling immensely satisfied that he agreed. "Mmm... you know, in the middle of the soda river towards the north, there is an island in the middle. It grows a very large gummy tree. I think we should go there. Almost noone does. It is one of my favorite hiding spots." She held onto her basket with both hands.
She walked up more closer to him. "Well, we shall be on our way then? Unless you need something before we go?"

"Nah" he shrugged. "I have everything I can possibly need... that is.. myself" he winked and took the basket from Ness without asking. He wasnt going to argue on who to carry or risk volountairy get into an argument that women cant look after themselfes.
"I actually never been there" he said honestly. "You hide alot?"

Ness gasped a little when he took the basket, but she was beginning to understand the kind of numa she was. She smiled deciding not to make any fuss over it. She made up in her mind as she packed that basket that she would try her darndest not to make a mess of this trip. She was awful for being selfish sometimes.
As they turned and made their way off to the island, she looked at him. "Yay. I love being the person people do first things with." She grinned wide. "Um... as for hiding... now see, i can't tell you that. Hiding is like having secrets. You tell people... it's not special anymore."

Bruce grinned. For once, she actually didnt start a fight. That made him happy, and relaxed a bit. Ness should not be so harsh, there is so much to live for. Being all femenist sure did only seem lik a waste of time.
"From your cryptical answer, I take it that you do hide alot" was his conclution, nodding while saying it. "Dont tell me too much" he then said, "I am so bad with secrets, or at least the part where I might have to lie" looking around he smiled. "Its kind of beautiful here in these parts of numa numa land."

Ness smirked to herself. She was so glad he was honest and upfront with that. She'd have to remember not to tell him secrets either then. "I just have some places I like to go when I want to be alone. Or.. special places to take friends to." She looked at him as they approached the river.
She looked at him scratching her head. She had intended to fly over the water, but she remembered then he couldn't fly. "Um... is it rude to have you swim over there? I could fly... and take the basket..."

"Always good to have places" he said, thoughtfully. "Whenever I want to be alone I just walk into a rosebush.. not many follows cause of the many torns" he found that an excellent place for a nap or break from the world.
"of course, it happens a curious numa comes in and get tangeled up and then I have to save them.. which I really dont mind ~.^" he added with a wink.
Laughing gently he looked over the grape soda river, glistering welcoming to him. "Me? Male? Mind? No way! Its been a while sense I took a good swim and this ol' body of mine will go rusty!" he put a paw in. "Ah.. chilly."

Ness flew to the island with the basket in hand. As she took off, she looked at him. "Well, try not to get lost or take too long, ok Bruce?" She winked at him as she fluttered off to the shore on the other side. She landed and gave him a wave.

Bruce watched as Ness flied off, thinking she was way too pretty to have to worry about who liked her or not. Jumping into the water with head first, he was soon no where to be seen.
Shortly after Ness had landed, his head flied off, water flying about and in his mouth he had a huge swedish fish, yellow and delicious.

Ness twitched shaking of the few drips that somehow landed on her. Then, she opened the basket, taking the big blanket out, rolling it across the grass. She then sat down and took out some glass bottled drinks, a few plates. She looked up at Bruce. "Oh... I see you decided to bring something with you after all."
She smiled and her eyes followed him as he made his way to join her. Today, she decided to behave a little more ladylike than she normally did. In the end, she was still Ness and couldn't help to be as forward as she typically was. Still, she could play nicer at times... when she really wanted to. Bruce did deserve it after all.

Carefully laying down the fish next to Ness he grinned. "Its against my nature to come empty handed" he simply said and tossed a little with his head, so the bangs wouldnt be in the way of his sight.
He watched her set the piknick up, meanwhile he leaned up against a nearby tree. Watching her, he kind of wondered what she was up to, it didnt really seem like her. While he wished he knew her better, he also wasnt sure how well he wanted to actually know her.
But the sun was shining and he smiled happily. Days like these werent meant to be worried away, so he shook the feeling off. "You need any help?" he asked with his light, casual voice.

"No... There's not much to do. I didn't bring a lot. It was a simple thrown together type of thing. That's me I guess..." She smiled as she brought out a smaller cooler and bowls and spoons. Then, she cut the swedish fish in half and put a half on each plate, next to the bowls.
She looked over at him then patted the ground next to her on the blanket. "Come and sit... and have soda, ice cream, and fish with me. Won't you, my friend?" She had decided that day when getting ready to head to his house. She wanted to try to be a better friend to him. She started to see maybe she had gone overboard the last time they attempted a friendly outing. She had regretted doing that.
