Genshin Fusaki [Ryu Versher 777] vs. Argus McFarland [Tacitus]

Match Ends: Next Monday 9 PM Central

User Image

A regular wrestling ring with a cheering crowd rooting the fighters on, yet the ropes are electrically charged. Anyone who touches them will get shocked, which can be used to a fighter's advantage. Even if a fighter is immune to the element, the electricity has been altered so that even a lightning elemental would still be getting damaged if they come into contact against it for a long period of time.

Ready?

FIGHT!

[[ Ooh, electrical ropes. This sounds like fun. ]]

The electricity on the ropes didn't elude this man from his goal. He walked at the side of the ring observing the fact that there were three ropes bound to turnbuckles. With a vile grin upon his face, he leaps over the ropes, never touching, only to land in the center of the ring. His cape draping over his body as his eyes leer around the arena. The crowd cheering, chanting names of both of the combatants, and Genshin merely absorbed that energy within him. He knew that now, with this ring, there's no place to hide for his opponent.

The elderly gentleman that was given a hand to enter the ring seemed incredibly out of place, suited more for a poker table than a wrestling ring. He didn't even look to his opponent, staring at a deck of cards slipped quietly from his pockets. The plasting wrapping was quickly cast aside and when he flipped open the end of the box he took a whiff of the fresh deck of playing cards, just a few more than the standard fifty two. There was no magic to them at all, they were simply a deck that could be picked up almost anywhere, likely for less than a buck. Without further ado he began to shuffle.

Genshin took out his two blades then stabs them both into the ring, even though they didn't puncture through the canvas, they did, however, stand directly on top of it. Both of Genshin's arms, at this time, were concealed by wrappings of a woven fabric as he looks directly towards his opponent. His eyes close as he holds his hands directly together feeling out his nervous system as his body begins cracking joints here and there.

From the deck he slips two cards, flinging one rapidly at Genshin before he begins to circle to the left. The card itself seems changed once it leaves his hands, sharp as a well forged blade and stronger than basic steel. Even if the magical charge contained within is dispelled it would oddly retain this new strength.

Simply put, the card flew directly towards Genshin, but the man threw it before he maneuvered himself. Genshin's ears were heightened in sensitivity, due to his daemonic nature, hearing the zipping nature of the card flowing in the air. It seemed that with this flying card, it'll be difficult to dodge, that's if Genshin was slow, but he wasn't. And the card reaching directly towards the middle of the ring, Genshin's shadows extend from his base coming around due to the electrical currents given off by the ropes making the shadows. They seem to go from being visible to being invisible to the naked eye as it crept forward towards the old man, spanning the entire ring. For what reason? Genshin's smirk only let it to be known.

Thus, right when the blade comes directly towards him now, the shadows begin creating a hand that becomes tangible to capture the card within its hand. Once more, Genshin begins using the Shadow Dancing technique.

The card cought by the shadows seemed almost slippery in relation to their grip, sliding away at a snail's pace. The type of magic contained therein seemed raher odd, as if it wasn't actually there. As the elderly gentleman continues his slow path around the ring he produces two more cards, flinging one similarly to how he did so before. His sleeves begin to roll up and reveal his branded arms of their own will, not impeding his actions in the slightest. Something about his gaze -locked on Genshin- makes it seem like he's far too devoted to the delivery of the cards. Either that, or perhaps he's a dirty old man thinking about hot hot mansex with Genshin. Likely not, but you never know with old men these days.

Too bad, because right when the card hit the hand, it was stopped instantly due to the pathway being blocked by the hand itself. Suddenly, Genshin's eyes opened fiercely as he looked toward the old man noticing his gaze, then a smirk came across his face as his right hand grabs the hilt of PAIN. He didn't lift the blade, but held a firm grip which caused for the ring to suddenly tremble since the shadows covered the entire area of the ring. The only thing visible now was, in fact, the lightning charged ropes.

Instantly, the next cards were flung forward towards Genshin, and he walked forward releasing his grip directly on the blade when he tossed it directly towards the turnbuckle corner that the old man was going directly for in the side-movement towards Genshin's left as Genshin followed forward with a straight right fist toward the cards watching them explode directly upon his hand.

Odd though it was, the card did not explode upon Genshin's fist, the enchantment burried within not focused on such a detonation. If, by chance, Genshin was the one to instigate the explosion it would indeed occur, but the card would remain unharmed, though it would be rather stuck to Genshin's hand by some form of adhesive enchantment. As for the one stopped by the shadow hand, it would continue its movement, as mentioned sliding along the surface of the harndened shadowstuff. This time when Argus produces two more cards he instead lets them drift through the air towards the electrified cables with a speed that defies most supernaturally enhanced visual accuity.

Yes, it was caused by Genshin, the energy bursting through to project the card backwards from him was something to be fairly and easily done at this point. Card may not be unharmed, but that doesn't mean it's incapable of being deflected. Thus, Genshin's punching prowess continues forward directed at the man as the shadows begin covering the turnbuckles.

Almost...

While the cards directed towards Genshin were fun and all, they really weren't intended to do much more than direct his attention. Those four that had now connected with the ropes had generated two duplicates each. The cards began rapidly sapping the energy from the ropes, redirecting it into the arena at large and adding new properties to the surge. The shadows would begin dissolving away as a pure light -though not simply light alone- began to bathe the arena in a deific luminescence. The light was blinding in of itself, the purifying magic contained therein perfect for dispelling all current enchantments.

These shadows weren't constituted by the normal behavior of Earthian shadows. These shadows were more incline to the process of the negative behaviors of creating a sure balance of light and darkness... The more light, the more darkness, and if Argus was smart, he'd deliver an attack towards Genshin or that luminescence would just be a diversion of what was really happening to the ring due to the blades concentration.

The current enchantments? More like the destruction of the ring, besides, the enchantments were done before the dispelling had begun, and one turnbuckle rope becomes elastic and over stretches from the intense heat given off by the blade itself. Besides, why did Genshin start the match in a meditative position first, it was simple to make sure that both of his blades were ready for their duty as they were in the last match. First, prepare, then conquer. The cards at the ropes would be stopped due to the propelling force given off by the blades themselves as Genshin stands with his right hand extended directly towards the old man, "Let's bring this fight to a start, power play isn't really fun unless you can feel the victim screaming in your bare hands."

As mentioned, it wasn't just light, rather fitting as the shadows apparently weren't shadows in the traditional sense. The idea was that the shadows did not belong, and if they happened to be produced by magic they would simply cease to be, and if otherwise they would simply be contained, quarantined, and ejected. Just because it was perfect to dispel did not mean that was its only objective and capability. When Genshin speaks Argus gives him a flat look, "Just stop and think about that for a moment. I'm an elderly gentleman, not some mindless brute of a youngster. I don't scream and I certainly don't get my hands dirty when I extract such from others. Blood is so unvcivilized." Of course, if he was interupted in speaking he wouldn't stop, his lips would just stop moving and the voice would persist. His cards began to dance around him, slipping away from his deck to hang in the air. A smirk came in return, "After all we've done in this tournament, the turn has come and the river has run its course. Lay down your hand, boy, and I'll lay down mine."

It seems the shadows still were doing what they were doing, constricted or not, it was the plan for them to cover the entire ring and the turnbuckles. Genshin stood up straight with a clenched fist in front of him held at defiance, but then it rests at his side as he observes the man's continuous speech.

"Then I shall lay down the hand, but what is the prize?" The shadows continued billowing and wavering upon the ring as Genshin watched the man, actually willing to listen to him for this time being.

He smirked at the inquiry, "The stakes and the ultimate payoff are entirely up to you. Victory and defeat are so bland, even with the monetary compensation at the end. How about a short lifetime? The winner steals seventy years to add to the sting of defeat." The cards around him seemed to be moving in patterns, breaking them down into groups based on suit and then into their value order. However, despite having only released approximately fourty five cards into the air there seemed to be well over one hundred, the number growing by the moment.
