From a dark corner of the temple steps forth a single man. Ashen grey locks cascade down to obscure his violet eyes, doing little to hide the two pristine balls of feathers and fluff that protrude from his skull. Wings of violet wreathed in azure flame span behind him to a total wingspan variable between five feet and what could possibly be infinity. The depiction of a phoenix in tears is mirrored both upon the back of his loose fitting grey shirt and upon the tatoo on his back, the flames thereof almost moving as the tears seem to actually flow. Within his cargo pants a series of magical components he no longer truly needs are on hand, along with a few special pieces of equipment he saw fit to bring along, notably two travel sized grenades from his Aegis days. Several components about his body seemed rather...unique. Floating about his head a series of planes of magical force deflect light and energy, almost as if they are intended to block not only physical assault, but mental assault as well. The strand of azure orbs floating about his neck glow with an unearthly power, a powerful aura of arcane magic hanging about them. A similar aura hangs about the chain wrapping about his arm and hand, the azure tint following the same line as the end of the chain flicks about his upturned palm, a metallic feather with jagged edges. The last two components that seem out of place are the pinpoint of bright blue light which flits around him randomly and the cerulean glow about his boots that seems to bounce about out of sync with his own boots. Statistics Incarnum Defense: Permanent passive ability based on hues of the eyes. Gold: Immune to fear with pain resistant effects. Inky Black: Immunity to effects that weaken his body. Blood Red: Greatly increased stamina and immunity to magical fatigue. Emerald: Immunity to paralysis, stunning, and anything that would impede movement. Smite: Given 5 smite attempts these can be used to do massive damage or infuse weapons with special effects. Essentia Pool: 10

F rom the depths of the dim entrance corridor to the temple a quiet click clack of feet on the hard wood floor could be heard over the silence of the Hindu temple. As the sound became louder it was obvious that someone had entered the temple, the flickering flames of the tourches illuminated the figure lightly still leaving mysterious shadows upon his features. The figure was a demon in a house of gods. The figure was the man known as Dante. D ante's attire wasn't his usual jeans and collared shirt..it was more fit for fighting. A dark black yukata of odd proportions covered his upper body. From neck down, the yukata stretched down to his upper thighs where it was supported by a black rope around the waist so that it did not drag and sway like a dress. Down the center, around the collar, and lining the sleeves was a red stitching that gave it a bit of Dante's usual red and black taste. The oddest part about this yukata was the sleeves. On his left, the sleeve stretched long past his hand and extended the width much larger than the width of his arm. At his right, it was just the opposite. The sleeve that should have been there was gone; trimmed at the shoulder, it exposed his entire arm and the ANBU tattoo that rested on it. For pants, he had simple cloth leggings that stretched down to the mid-shin level. They were loose enough for flexibility but not too loose. On his back, as always, sat his katana. Covering his entire face was a mask that depicted a wolf. The mask had a white base paint with black and red designs for whiskers as well as other wolfish features. It seemed to graph to his face leaving no room between his skin and the extremely dense material the mask was made of. T his new setting had a good feeling to it. No more roaring crowds or sand covered colluseums! Just two contenders and the gods that smiled down upon them. Dante observed his opponent from behind the mask, his tail anxiously waving behind him. He made no movement. He merely stood and watched the man in silence from about twenty or so yards away with scattered support pillars between them. Dante's chakra fluxuated throughout his body in an even pulse and was constantly growing as it captivated the fighting spirit that took Dante as its vessel.

The ashen haired man stared across the temple to his opponent, saying only one thing, "I do hope you're prepared to suffer on the receiving end of my fearsome magical spells." It was as if he was trying to hard to be cocky and arrogant for a mage, the way he mentioned his magical means of penning berks into the deadbook just slightly old fashioned and...wrong. Despite this, he raised a hand and fired off five globes of magical energy, single shot orbs that travelled in a straight line and exploded on impact. These too had something off about them, as if he was masking their true intent. The flames about his wings were quickly growing white hot, though they did not actually give off heat. His aura seemed to be expanding by leaps and bounds every moment, a powerful pulsating thing that blinded otherworldly senses. A wolfish grin sporting pearly white canines surfaced from behind the mask as he listened intently to the man's warning. Suffer!?!? I don't know the meaning of the word...Doooo teach meeee... If he had spoken his words would seem as though they were the words of a mad man. The fighting spirit that was captivated by the intense energies within him seemed to be taking control for the time being. Had it been adrenaline or was it something more..something like malice ? W earing the traditional Iwagkure shinobi style of uniform, Dante felt like all restrictions had been dropped. Although he enjoyed looking classy for the ladies, the pants were too restricting..and weights slowed him down a bit. Now he could really show off his talents in grace as well as speed. He was a shinobi, yet half the time he spent standing still looking badass. As the man raised his hand, Dante reacted with perfection. Coming up on his toes to move, he drew his katana with a brilliant screatch as the blade slid against the sheath. His right arm directed the blade in quick slashes that looked as though an angsty artist were flailing their paintbrush harshly upon the canvas. The special attribute of the blade to reflect energies made it easy for Dante to intercept the orbs. Pushing chakra through the hilt, the blade would force the chakra away sending it forward with each slash thus giving his reach about a foot or two farther from the blade's actual tip. As all five orbs would explode, Dante would take this chance. He used his speed with skill to dart behind a pillar. When the explosions had ceased, it would seem as though he had disapeared. No evidence of where he was. He remained completely silent, trying to hide his chakra flow incase this man had some way to sense energies. He would wait for the time being; just waiting for the correct time to make his move.

The orbs of magical force seem to slide past the blade, reacting slower than theu usually would otherwise, but are still deflected to do no harm to Dante. Their detonation seems almost lackluster, as if they had carried no true power and the man was simply blowing smoke. The man began to growl as he apparently had not only failed to kill his opponent, but had lost track of him as well. He called out, " You can't hide from my infinite power! I control all the demons of all the underworlds!" He threw his arms up and scavengers began crawling on all fours across the ground, small demons stepping from the shadows with large blades, and draconic figures wreathed in cool black flame falling from above. Had he summoned an army? Meanwhile, the pulse of his aura continued to grow, streams of white evaporating off of his massive wings to make a thin cloud around him. T he second Dante heard the sound of this legion of creatures scavenging about he knew that he'd have to change his position. Turning his belly to the pillar, he would begin to scale the wooden support struction with chakra as a basis to defy gravity. Chakra pulsating through his hands and feet, he would silently scale up to rafters of the building about 30 or so feet up. Now more than ever, the darkness was his friend, hiding him well in it's grasp. Hidden in his sleeve, Dante would hold a handseal with his left hand. It was a single-handed handseal so he was limited to how much chakra and how quickly he could generate it. For now, he would continue to wait. This many enemies required that he show the true shinobi art of stealth.

The demons and scavengers began advancing on the pillars that supported the roof, having seen where the ninja had gone as they had been summoned everywhere. As they began to climb the massive aura of the mage continued to grow in strength as he threw his arms around wildly. He called out, "MY MINIONS WILL CONSUME YOU!" Two dragons suddenly appeared, filling much of the lower reaches of the temple and crushing several summoned allies. Each of them seems to begin drawing in air for a massive breath weapon attack. O n the move again. This guy is rather presistant in trying to out number me..There's no way he got this far merely summoning minions..A diversion !?!? Dante was no longer conserned with stealth. He quickly darted from beam to beam to move away from the minions. Was he going to just run and hide the entire fight ? HELL NO! As Dante moved, small black orbs about the size of a quarter would drop from his long sleeve. The orb, being black, would be difficult to see and probably wouldn't have been noticed if it hadn't been for the slight tap they made as they landed on the floor. The small orbs would sit in their place until they were given a reason to move. Dante would continue his movement, deploying the small orbs evenly about. A s Dante moved past his opponent he would release about four more orbs at once. The four orbs he release had a single red band painted around them, merely a way of telling them from the rest. This band wouldn't have been seen. These orbs would imediately show their true function. As the orbs fell towards the ground they would pass through the man's energies. The small orbs were explosives made designed to detonate upon detecting energies within a one foot radius of them. The blast radius of each orb was about a yard. Four explosions would go off like grenades bursting, hoping to damage the man a bit or at least distract him while he placed the rest of his orbs about the building. [ I mean no disrespect by this, but weren't Summons not allowed in this tourney ?]

((Summoning issue addressed via PM to both Tenma and Vintrict, for any that read this fight.)) The pure black orbs would fall to the ground amongsts all of the summoned minions, most of them not even noticing the objects in the slightest. The scavengers would notice, and would move to stare at them, even weakly paw at them. Those dropped near the mage would sadly detonate much further from him than a yard, perhaps even before the left Dante's person. The pulsing aura had been growing by leaps and bounds, and the evaporating cloud growing from the wings was merely a visual manifestation of the extreme presense near the mage. However, should they slip within range to do any harm they would find themselves knocked away by a shaft of white light, whereby they would simply explode instead of be deflected. The shaft seemed to come from nowhere, the mage's features blurring to the point of leaving behind the image of a mage in his rapid movements. The two massive dragons continued to draw in breath for their devestating assault. F eeling the concusive force of the explosions behind him, Dante smiled knowing that the explosives had done their job. Keeping his distance in the rafters, Dante watched as some of the minions attempted to play with the orbs. Just after the explosions ceased the orbs would begin to move. Gradually increasing in speed, the orbs would begin to rotate in place before they shot off in the direction of Dante's opponent. The pure black orbs were known as the "Tracer Orbs" while the others were called "Detector Orbs". As if pulled by a great magnetic force, the tracers would fire off in the direction of where the detectors caught the energies. The tiny orbs would move with such force that they would shred through some of the most dense objects. A large amount of the minions, including the dragons, would scream out in pain as the orbs pierced their bodies, only slowing a tad bit as they continued in the direction of the man. Hopefully due to the spread of the orbs, Dante could catch the man off guard and hit him in his blind sides. The shinobi would merely hold his position in the rafters with his katana gripped tightly in his right hand.

The lower level summons simply pop in a spray of gore that evaporates before it can truly hit anything and be left behind. The two dragons are interrupted in their assault, white flame leaping into the air as they cry out in pain, though they remain. Blood pools around them with white sparks running across the surface, the elemental energies locked within crying to be released. As the orbs neared the mage he threw his hands up, "YOU CANNOT DEFEAT ME!" The dragons seemed to pour their entire being out through their chests, deflating and stretching out towards he mage. A great white barrier was erected around him, stopping the orbs dead in their tracks and crushing them into oblivion. All the while the pulsating aura continued its growth, the overwhelming sense of vitality surging outward from his form. Hidden within his shell of white light he unleashed five streams of the same white light into projectiles that would circle out from his body, hanging in the air around him.

D ante was begining to get rather annoyed at how presistant the man was at defending such attacks. The man really had not thrown but one forward attack so far. Dante's style of fighting had once been said to resemble a monkey. He uses his grace to move about and strikes when the time is right..but this guy made Dante have to totally rethink his style. Watching the man's energy continue to grow, Dante would place his katana back in the sheith on his back. He would quickly converge his hands over the center of his chest, letting the long sleeve slide down his arm to give him room for motion. Swiftly and rather vigorously, the shinobi would begin to channel large sums of chakra through out his body through the means of handseals. His heart and lungs began to pump at an excellorated rate to help produce a larger fluxuation of chakra through the Tenketsu (chakra pores) of his body. Conventional means of fighting wouldn't work on this guy, so he would have to relly on his surplus of chakra supply as well as his Ninjutsu techniques.

The mage's face seemed to blur as he threw his hands up, the sphere around him condensing into a single point of light between his palms. With a yell he called out, "KAAAAAAMEEEEHAAAAMEEEE-----HAAAAA!!!" What in the name of unholy ******** was that? The light lanced towards Dante's general direction, apparently incinerating much of the temple as five strands of light curl around the outside of the beam, following its path. In reality the temple was not being destroyed, but it was a grand illusion to make it appear those parts that were now being damaged had been destroyed. Just how much had been an illusion thus far, and what else would be an illusion in the moments to come?

D ante may have been busy creating handseals, but he never once took his attention away from his opponent. The moment he caught the sight of the light converging between his palms he knew it would be in his best interest to get the hell out of the way. Sitting in a crouched position on one of the rafters, the shinobi would make his descent as quickly as possible. He would arch his back and push off with his feet to flip backwards to the ground letting the beam pass just in front of him. Doton: Retsudotensho! I nstead of landing on his feet in a full flip, Dante would extend his arms to pull them down in an axe-handle type manuever to strike the ground landing in a crouched position. His channeled chakra would surge through his fists and into the wooden floor of the temple. Only about a second later, a strong rumbling would fill the building as the ground beneath the man began to split apart. The building would seem to split into two parts creating a large trench about twenty five feet deep and around twenty feet wide. The trench that split through the temple stretched from the point where Dante's fist hit to the opposite wall. Hopefully, Dante could knock the man off balance sending him flailing to the depths of the trench were he would lose via a ring out. Chakra Output: 20%
