my question is, would a christian/ religious believer actually join an atheist guild? yeah its accepting but won't most of them turn away? Or not even look this up?

Doubtedly.

Considering the atmosphere and attitude of this guild, it's generally not a friendly place for most religious folk. We've actually had one or two Christians come into the guild for a time, but they didn't stay for very long.

Nope. It was almost the opposite. We weren't that engaging with them at all. Wait, that's not the opposite of mean... oh well.

And tenth, besides me who else has a (what i assume you meant by: bad attitude) attitude here on the guild? Those few topic starters that wanted to flame christians with comparisons with hitler were the very first ones that were actually (to some degree) flamed away. At least, i assume so, cuz "I" sure as ******** haven't seen them.

On the other hand, i'm glad i'm mean. **** being a sissy.

You could also wow them with intellect instead try and stump the, in that way you engage them as well.

We've had several. One never showed back up after issues about their posting being a little provoking. Usually things are okay. As far as flaming goes, I think that is generally attributable to the fact that the maturity level here is not that much higher than that of the rest of gaia. Well, maybe it is, but you get what I mean- we are humanoid afterall. :] (Most of us.)
Does that mean I enjoy excessive flaming? No. Are you supposed to keep it in check and try to back your self up a bit? Yeah.
My thought was always that if you see someone post something ludicrous, call em on it.
And the religious people who come here are not supposed to do anything that could be misconstrued by people as attempting to convert/whatever. So that makes them harder to pick out.
But the idea of a new subforum is in the works, it would be for the theists/curious who want to come here and similar types of things. :0 But I am not sure we could handle it or if it would be helpful.

I guess people would call me agnostic... and no I am not as sangu says a 'fence sitter'. I spent most of my like is differnt churchs. Nearly 11 at a United Methodest church. The hypocrsy disgusts me to this day. I not belive in a higher power, but I agree more with the athists I know then I ever have with the christians I know.
I may go to my grandmother's church to help clean or set up with functions but the last place I want to be is in a service. I have a hard time listening to my grand mother "My jesus! Wounderful savoir!" Makes me want to gag. Like when the precher at my grandfather's FUNERAL spent more time talking about the wounders of god and being SAVED then the dead NASA scinetist how spent the last sevral months in contant pain.
I have more issues with how christans act then the thought of a higher power. I beleive that weak people need to believe in "God's mercy" Just to get by.
I'd like to have a few Christians talk about their veiws that are open and won't take offence.

You were right at the one point ones who don't take offence aren't severe christians.....even a few friends of mine that are christian will either not tolerate my opinion and say...i'll see you in hell, or roll their eyes.

And i think he has his reasons for skipping to difrrent churches, we don't know him, so i doubt we can understand.
