My guitar needed to be restrung badly. So before lessons, I got them restrung with D'Addario XL's .009-.042. That was thursday of last week, and then I was told I needed to restring my guitar about four days later. I've been playing for about seven months. I couldn't have possibly played so hard that they got RUSTED in three days. I'm no string expert, but I believe that isn't good. So now I'm done with the D'Addario's. So tell me. What do you play with? I was thinking about trying DR's next time.

DR and Ernie Ball strings are my favorite. DR for my guitars with a tremolo bridge (Hi-Beams 10-46) and Ernie Ball for my guitars with a non-tremolo bridge (Power Slinky 11-4 cool . D'Addario Strings are very good but I don't know what happened to yours though. I'd recommend DR and Ernie Ball but there are also some other good ones out there like GHS. Check some reviews on the strings and check out how others think of them.

Oh, I didn't think of the reviews. Thanks. :3
I like to keep them in a thin gauge But I might jump to maybe .010

D'Addario rusting on you? That's quite weird, they're usually quite good for me. I use rotosound, and they're really bad for rusting. Though maybe it's something we're doing! sweatdrop
I've always liked D'Addario best then Ernie Ball. The reason I use rotosound is because I use hybrid strings. I think it's 10's on the top and 12-13's on the bottom. If you're a bit apprehensive about getting thicker strings you might want to try hybrids. I love them.

I use Ernie Ball strings, different guages on different guitars, but I prefer the Stainless Slinkys. I use regular and power slinky for the most part. Once they're on they last for about a month give or take. They have a nice full bright sound and I notice that the feel is a little cleaner than nickel.

where do we go? the distance of our travels confuse me...
On MY Washburn guitar I use DR .009 - .042 gauge strings .
On My Dean, I just recently Switched to Ernie ball super slinkys .010 guage set. It's okay. Just hold my hand... and i swear everything will be all right...

Ernie ball all the way man. I like the stainless steel ones and the nickel ones. I use 10 - 52 (Skinny Top-Heavy Bottom). I use these on main guitar (Ibanez IC400), on my sg i use super slinkys.
Acoustic Guitar: D'Addrio (dont what gauge they are, but they're pretty thick_
Bass: I use DR mediums. Possibly switching GHS boomers or Flea Signatures.
