our local Toys R Us was selling the set of Kinetic with an Eye Toy included for about $12
Kinetic is a PS2 game designed to get us lazies up and playing...I particularly like the "Combat Zone" set of games/exercises (I know, no surprise) and also includes a personal trainer which you can customize (and they know if you skip a day of your routine too)
Has anyone else tried this? thoughts? opinions?

Hmm.
Never heard of it razz
But personally, I don't like it when they try to combine work out and video games. It's all because of this 'obescity epidemic' and personally, I know I'm overweight xp I don't need my video games telling me that I am xd They're supposed to be fun and fantasy-filled, not real and sweaty gonk

Actually, the whole video game aspect of it is why I wanted to get it. I hate exercise, when it's just "OK, lay on the floor and do sit-ups. DO THEM!" This makes it something fun. Yes, I'm overweight. Yes, I'm always going to be overweight. Yes, I'm more than cool with that. But weight isn't my goal here... I want to get back into shape (I want to be able to climb a few flights of stairs without feeling like my heart's gonna explode)... and if it's fun, I'm more likely to do it. biggrin

in all honesty, there's a lot to it that puts me in mind of a game of dodge ball (without the breaking of things in the living room)
they give you targets to strike either in a pattern, or whenever you can, as hard as you can, or as fast as you can, depending...there's also things to either avoid or protect in some parts...others are more relaxed, following trails of light with your hands, moving a marker to form a net to catch orbs (which takes alot of thinking) and even something like a whole body version of simon says
my big thing is that I want to be able to do more, faster and longer, losing some of the "penalty weight" is simply a side effect...I'll probably never look like a body builder, and that's fine with me
