Chessy hummed a cheerful tune to herself as she trotted along the edge of the forest, swishing her voluminous, curly tail to and fro as she went. Her steps were light and graceful, almost in a swaying motion, as if she were dancing with an invisible partner.
"Hmm-hmm hmm-hm-hm... and the momeraths outgraaaaabe" she chuckled softly, tossing her mane, causing the bells on her ears and neck to jingle erraticly. "So little to do, so much time" she muttered, "Chessy is so bored!" she exclaimed suddenly to no-one in particular, stomping her hooves, setting off the bells on her hindlegs as well.

Kiefer yawned, and shook his mane slightly, letting the hairs settle in their proper places. It was quite a nice day out, a shame he had wasted it on a nap. Then again, the day couldn't be more than half way done, so it wasn't exactly wasted.
The golden stallion trotted to the left, and moments later his ears perked up at a peculiar sound. There were two sounds accually, but only one that he didn't recognize. One was singing, which wasn't something he hadn't heard before. But the second was a high pitched clanking noise, rhythmic and pleasant. What was it?
He squinted off in the distance, there seemed to be a mare. He couldn't see many details, but one certainly struck him quickly. She had a LOT of hair. Huge amounts of flowing, purple hair. Even more then some of his friends had. He flicked his short tail.

Chessy stopped her stomping after a few short moments, instead hopping up onto her hindlegs and waltzing about in a graceful circle, setting her bells all a-jingle once more. Though, due to her obvious body-mass, as with all horses, she bounced back onto all fours swiftly, which is when she spotted a shock of yellow amongst the foliage.
Peering at this new arrival to her own little world, she couldn't help but notice he had a striped body, similar to her, though seemed to be lacking in that department, as if somone had stolen some of them. She whinnied in sympaty and trotted over to the poor stallion, planning to comfort him at his loss and see if she coiuld help him find the thief.

Kiefer moved forward, she had obviously noticed him. Which was good, since it was incredibly awkward to walk up to someone who didn't notice you. She was looking at him very funny, though. As if she felt bad. What was wrong?
"Hi...I'm Kiefer" he said, his voice a bit unsure out of confusion "Are you...ok?" he asked, not knowing if he was overstepping boundaries in trying to console this stranger over whatever was bothering her. Then again, she was coming up to him, maybe she needed help?

She looked at the yellow stranger and smiled, nodding her head. "Nice to meet Kiefer. Chessy is okay, but Kiefer isn't. Poor Keifer has lost some stripes! Does he want Chessy to help him look for them?" she replied to his question. With a look of sympathy on her equine face, she nodded towards his general rump area, where he indeed had no stripes. "Poor Kiefer must be very sad. Does her know who took them?"
Just then a slightly brighter than normal rabbit bounced out from a nearby bush, his feathers all a-flutter. "What are you doing Chessy? Are you lost again?" he asked, stopping in front of her and sitting up on his hindlegs. "I told you to eat your tealeaves! You always need your tealeaves! If you don't eat them your ears will fall off!" he ranted, a frown-like expression on his features.

Kiefer stood there, completely baffled by the scene going on in front of him, unlike anything he had ever seen before. This mare, and her little bunny must be SERIOUSLY disturbed. Or something, because he could barely comprehend what just happened.
"Well... Erm. I.." he had no idea how to address this situation. "My stripes are...well, I only have theses stripes. I've never had any others" he said, wondering if she would understand that. "You seem to be the one missing stripes in your mane and tail" he said, swishing his tail. If she was going to be insane, at least he should entertain himself a bit

Chessy gasped, looking affronted. "Chessy hasn't lost her stripes! Chessy is very very careful! Tell him Haigha! Tell hiiiim!" The mare seemed to get quite upset by this, stomping her hooves and turning har head to look at her tail and flicking her mane about, even peering at her back and legs. "Has Chessy lost them again? Chessy was so careful!" she began to whinny, her hair flying everywhere about her like a curly great cloud.
"Oh fizz..." the bunny muttered, his head falling into his paws. "Y'see what you started?" he said to Kiefer, "She always gets like this about stripes... and spots... most markings, really, but stripes are worst, as she always thinks she's lost them" he sighed and hopped away from Chessy's flailing hooves. "This is why I tell her to eat her tealeaves, tealeaves are good for you, they make you feel better..." he started going on a little rant again, before a near miss from one of Chessy's hooves snapped him out of it. "You need to reassure her her stripes are fine, or she'll be like this for hours." he said to the confused stallion, hopping beside him and nudging his lower foreleg. "Go on! Before she stamps on something!" he said impatiently, tapping one of his long feet.

Kiefer tilted his head. Oops. He didn't actually think she would react THAT way. He looked down at the rabbit. "Oh...um...sorry then" he said, feeling a bit bad. Then again, her hair was absolutely everywhere, including his face, so maybe that was his payback. A face full of purple mane.
"I was kidding. Your stripes are fine. In fact...umm. The stripes that would be on my rump are on my mane and tail, because I like them there" he said, hoping she would be satisfied by this response.
Once again he glanced down at the rabbit, her familiar. Perhaps he was her 'babysitter'. Probably, because she seemed to need one. He imaged how she might act with out the rabbit there to tell Kiefer how to deal. Certainly it wouldn't be good.

The instant Kiefer told her her stripes were okay, she stopped her fretting, standing stock still, panting slightly from the exertion, her hair all over her face and back.
Haigha hopped over to her again, sitting at her hindlegs, he gently patted one of her bells, making it chime softly, this seemed to snap Chessy out of whatever had come over her, as she then smiled broadly and tossed her mane out of her face, speaking to the rabbit as if nothing had happened.
"What is Haigha doing here?" she asked, daintily tugging a lock of her hair from Kiefer's mouth, "Has Haigha come to meet pretty yellow Keifer too?" she asked cheerfully, wiggling her rump like a happy puppy.
The rabbit simply nodded his head, exasperated. "Yes Chessy, i'm here to meet 'pretty yellow Keifer'"

Kiefer took a bit of a step back, spitting a piece of purple hair out of his mouth. "So...your rabbit is named Haigha?" he asked, completely unsure of what he was support to do at this point. "Nice to meet you, Haigha" he said, nodding towards the rabbit.
"And erm...thanks for calling me...pretty?" he added, not really sure how he should take this comment. Pretty was usually used for more feminine things, but she was clearly out of her mind, so he didn't really care.
"How are you, Chessy?" he added, getting his bearings finally. She probably acted fairly normal if you just took out the subject of markings. Who knows, maybe even calm, and she had just been en crazed by his. Or maybe she was just plain insane.

Chessy smiled and did a quick trot in a circle "Chessy is good, Chessy feels like dancing!" she exclaimed, doing her odd 'hind-legs dance' she had done a few short moments ago, before tripping over her own tail and falling down, managing to catch herself with her front hooves and end up in a sitting position, as opposed to flat out with her legs splayed at awkward and broken angles. She stared at the ground for a few seconds in silence before looking at Haigha "Haigha made Chessy trip! Haigha is distracting Chessy!" she exclaimed at the miserable little rabbit as she pushed herself up onto all four feet.
"I... I..." the rabbit was so livid he was lost for words, his little bunny face turning the same shade as his feathers. Instead of losing his temper with the purple mare, he hopped off angrily into the nearby greenery without a word, almost as swifty as he had arrived.
((*pours apologies all over you* I am so so so sorry for not replying sooner! crying Work has just been tiring me out.
oh, and if you're wondering, Haigha is pronounced like 'hare' (hay-ah) ))

Kiefer stood in a daze. What in the world was this mare doing? Dancing?!?! He had never seen such a thing! She moved upwards, and seemed to be having quite the time, until she fell. For a moment, Kiefer was worried she might break something. Oh, that would be some time. He and the little rabbit would have to go and find some unicorn, or a two-legger. And sometimes they were scarce, particularly in this area. At least she caught her self...
and then blamed the rabbit. Clearly she had tripped over herself. He just stood there, not knowing what to say. Would she get angry and freak out if he pointed out that it clearly wasn't the rabbits fault? Yes, probably. Better stay away from that.
"Erm... are you OK?" he asked, tilting his head.

Chessy smiled and shook her mane and tail, loosening out the leaves that had got entangled during her little trip. "Chessy's fine, Chessy just got distracted, is all. Chessy can't dance when Chessy's distracted." she responded, bobbing up and down a little as she spoke. She did a quick trot over to the yellow stallion, peering at his dreamcatcher necklace. "Kiefer has a pretty necklace, Chessy thinks feathers are nice and soft. Chessy likes soft things." she said, "They're the same pretty color as Kiefer is, th same as Chessy's eyes. Chessy likes yellow, but not as much as Chessy likes purple. Does Kiefer like purple?"

"Ah, well. That is good, then?" he said nervously, wondering if this mare was dangerous. Probably not. But still, she seemed to have lost most of her marbles. "Maybe you shouldn't dance again for a bit...because of all this excitement, you know?" he suggested.
The stallion shied back just a bit as she came closer to look at his necklace, then relaxed, realizing how silly he was being "Thanks, I've had it my whole life" he said, nodding. "And erm. Purple?" he said. Purple was not one of Kiefer's favorite colors, but he certainly liked it. "Ah, yes. I like purple. You have nice purple hair" he said, feeling he should compliment her now because she had said such things.
