Ati wandered around in the early morning while his adopted brother slept. He hummed to himself and jumped off of rocks near the river they had been following for the past few days. He wondered where they would end up, but somehow they always went somewhere interesting. It only barely occured to him that he had been traveling with Kyuu for so long that they had both reached adulthood. When it did occure to him how long he had been practically alone with his brother, it almost blew his mind.
He didn't, by any means, mind. In fact, he loved being with Kyuu. They were never alone, and always had fun. They had always planned on joining a pack together, but who knew when they would find one they both liked? So, instead they just kept traveling.
And no matter how far, or how fast they traveled, Ati would always somehow manage to wake up before Kyuu did, giving him plenty of time to explore the wonders of their newest location.

A small lump of fur lay amongst the tall grasses near the side of the river, so close to a large, gnarled tree root that it seemed that it was almost reaching out to snatch the silent bundle from the ground. Alice was that bundle, curled up with her chin resting on top of one of her tails, the other sprawled out in the vegetation, it's pink tip swishing once in a while or simply giving a soft twitch. She isn't a morning person, never was, never will be, and the night's long travels to escape from a particularly stubborn badger had left their mark. She hadn't found much to eat upon arriving, and simply dropped and went off to bed. Of course it was highly dangerous for a young pup to go without proper shelter, but of course she didn't know any better.
With a soft whimper, the femme rolled over in her sleep, rustling the grass quite loudly int he early morning silence. "Mama..." she murmured, still asleep.

Ati looked up almost instantly when he heard a small... seemingy farmiliar voice. He moved away from the river a little in the direction he had heard it, knowing that he had heard that voice before. He did have a good memory, but who was that? He didn't know many wolves... that one sounded female, which he knew even less of. Who was it?
"Hello?" Ati called, not fearlessly, but curiously. The voice had sounded small... but who could it possibly be? He made a mental checklist and tried to go over what females he knew. The list came down to very few, but when he spotted the two tails, he remembered instantly who this was. It had been a while, and he had certainly grown up a bit since then, but he knew Alice when he saw her, "Alice? Hey, Alice, are you alright?" he cooed softly to her, moving down a little towards her, but not too close in case she accidentally lashed out in her sleep.

A right ear twitched on the pup, the earrings jingling lightly as she heard noises. With a yawn, the pup rolled over onto her back, blue eyes opening with a slight mumble. Was it time to get up already? In a second the pup's eyes widened to enormous proportions and she gave a loud yelp, at seeing a large nose from a rather large wolf right in her face. She made a dive behind a nearby tree-root, the fluffy-ball of morning fur squeezing against the ground, breathing heavily. Talk about a wake up call!

Ati let out his wn yelp of suprise and jumped backwards, "Woah! Woah! Alice it's me! Ati! We met a while ago, when you were chasing frogs, with Pheonix, remember? I'm bigger, but I'm still me!" Ati said, flailing about his paws and looking rather silly as he tried to calm her down. He hadn't meant to scare her! Just wake her up, that was all! "I thought you were having a bad dream! I'm sorry! I'm really sorry!"

The small femme's head raised towards the older wolf, her right ear flopping as she cocked her head. "Ati?" she looked to the other wolf, who looked just as surprised as she did. "Ati!" Alice yipped with realization, immediately standing up and pouncing her friend, nuzzling him with both tails wagging happily.
She giggled, finally seeing how freaked out she was. "You just scared me..."

"I'm sorry! I really didn't mean too, you scared me quite a bit as well though," Ati chuckled, nuzzling the pup's head fondly, "And here I thought you had gone off somewhere and forgotten all about me. Good to know that I left a nice impression." He smiled brightly, sitting down beside her, "Are you still traveling on your own then?"
He was glad that she remembered him. He had always liked Alice, it would have certainly been slightly devistating if she didn't recall him.

She giggled lightly as he nuzzled her head, both tails wagging happily, over-joyed that she found her old friend. He was alot bigger than she remembered... Or maybe she got smaller?
She smiled and nodded. "Yup, you're the first person I've seen since I left you two..." young Alice said with a grin, not realizing how sad that was in a way that a tiny femme was all alone.

"Really?" Ati looked horrified, "I'm the only one who you've seen? Wow... I've grown up a bit since then. Getting bigger, and I think that you've grown up a lot too!" He smiled happily again, nuzzling her again fondly.
"I'm so glad to see you again."

Alice grinned, rubbing her head against his front leg happily, tails thumping against his side.
"You really have, I barely recognized you, you're so big now. Are you still traveling with your brother?"

"You bet I am! Still having the time of my life! You should come and eat with us, you look a little hungry," Ati said, lying down beside the pup, "I'm sure Kyuu wouldn't mind as long as you're nice."
His tail thumped on the ground as he looked playfully himself.

At that the young pup sprang back randomly, lowering herself into a play-bow with both tails and her hind-quarters waving in the air. "I'd like that!" The truth was the young femme hadn't had much to eat in quite a while. But by now the skinny young wolf had gotten used to being hungry, and she did eat a dead bird she found laying around in the bushes the other day. It was as though her life ran on play and...play, and she needed nothing else.

"Okay!" Ati smiled brightly, standing up again, "Come on! Let's go huntingf! Kyuu always sleeps in late, we should find something before he wakes up. I love hunting in the morning, no one's awake yet to steal what I want to eat!"
Ati was happy to have a hunting partner. He almost never did, it was a little relieving to have a friend with him.

"Alright! Race you there!" The two-tailed pup yipped, barreling past Ati and into the bushes, pushing her tiny paws as fast as she could. It'd been a long time since she'd gone anywhere with anybody, especially not one of her friends. Of course, she knew she wouldn't get very far on stubby legs, compared to Ati's long ones that were almost as tall as she was.
"C'mon! C'mon!" Alice teased, wheeling around and looking back where Ati was, panting heavily.

Ati laughed and ran after her, catching up quickly, but staying at her pace so that she wouldn't get far away. They would have to be more careful of they were going to catch anything, but he didn't mind playing around a bit. Besides, he knew that she was so small he might trample her if he wasn't careful.
And he certainly wouldn't want that!
