ok...compare a fender or a gibson to anyother guitar in the market. yep the fender or gibson will sound better. they have been out for way longer than jackson and all of that...whick means the fender or gibson will sound better. if you want something good. go with fender or gibson! and stop using all these "metal or emo only" guitars. plus fender has a better feel.

lol your post proves how ignorant you are. I hope this is a joke because Fender and Gibson aren't the best, there is no best out there. It depends on taste and there are not "Metal or Emo Only" guitars out there. Anybody who says that is just as ignorant as the person that made it up. Gibson and Fender aren't bad guitars but in my opinion they aren't my cup of tee for some of the stuff I play. Even my friend who is a complete Gibson fanatic (He has the SG Reissue, Les Paul Custom Triburst, and SG Special Faded) and even he admits they are overpriced. Fender is not overpriced at all, they are very good for the price but they don't have stuff that many other guitar brands do have. If you want 3 then here it is
- 24 fret guitars for a good price and no I will not pay over $1,500 for an SG Supreme
- More flexible tremolo
- And for some of the guitars, Neck-Thru body (Some players don't mind Bolt-On neck like me but Neck-Thru is by far better sometimes especially if you solo. But if the neck breaks then you're screwed.)
Some of Gibson's endorsers don't even use the stock pickups which proves that the sound isn't as flexible many may think. Don't say that EMGs, SDs, Dimarzios, or any other pickups are for certain type of music only because that is not true. Go to ESP Guitars and Schecter Guitars website and compare the wood if you want and alot of other stuff. Looks pretty familiar but for a cheaper price right? I wonder if you tried out most of the guitars from other brands so see if maybe you like the guitar or not. I may not like Gibson or Fender alot but I'd be lying if I said that the John 5, 1959 Telecaster Reissue, Gibson Supreme, Marcus Miller Bass, Gibson Explorer, 5-String Thunderbird, and a few others weren't good guitars that I play when I can. Why do I not buy them? Because I already have good enough guitars and basses but playing a different one feels good also sometimes.
I hope this topic was a joke otherwise you better do some research because I deal with enough fanboys like that at my school and it's not fun.

fender has an unlimited possibility when it comes to tone.
gibson and fender have been out the longest which means that they have experienced more which means theyve been upgraded more over the years

they sound waaayyy better in my opinon compared to esp, jackson, etc.

OK.
fender and gibson... i'm going to have to say... your a noob.
but thats okay, because everybody is a noob at one point. for me....10 years ago, give or take.
seeing as i own a gibson sg and numerous fenders (2 standard strats, one american strat, an american tele, and an OLD a** jaguar i picked up at a garage sale for $100 [dude didnt know what he was sellin], if your interested) i'm going to have to say i preferr fender out of the two.

i actually play a guitar that is made from a few different influences. i built it off of an old strat body (SSS). it has a 26-fret extended neck that i took of a forign electric i picked up at a garage sale (body was crap, but all maple neck, maple fretboard). also i re-routed the pickup alignment, and made my own pickguard to fit it. the arangement is this: HSH. you wont find a strat with that pickup arrangement. and some minor details i did to it... i did a file job to the frets... so there all nice and tiny..easy to move around, i added an extra pot to accomodate the extra pickup, and i bought a floyd rose trem for it.

its actually an amazing guitar. trying to get hte neck to work well with the body was a b***h...i had to mess around with the truss rod to get the intonation acceptable... and i modded the bridge so much you cant really call it a floyd rose anymore...but in the end it works out well. my intonation is almost perfect, and im a very happy man.

So does every other brand. Don't be ignorant or biased.

While they may have been out the longest that doesn't mean that they sound the best compared to everybody else. If you believe that then you really don't know what's coming out of your mouth. They've been upgraded but that doesn't mean that they sound better all the time, compare them to other instruments and that doesn't matter.

That's your opinion and I won't argue that but just do me a favor. Don't go around blindly saying that Gibson and Fender are the best because that just proves plain ignorance whether you want to admit it or not.

ok this topic was one of those In My Opinon topics

imo esp and schecter are the way to go.
you get a guitar with great pickups.
esp active emgs
schecter symore dunkens

i have a strat, which totally lacks in crunch. for my heavyer music i play i use my $150 solidbody hofner, wich has p 90s.
i will probly not buy another strat.
gibson.
great brand, and if i had the money i would by an explorer. its my fav guitar, but you just cant beat an explorer with active electronics for half the price.
so gibson and fender imo are ok for the music you play.
gibson like the tone and would get one if i had the money. fender, the only way i would get another one is if its the fender esquire that has a set neck and single sd pickup at guitar center.

Sorry to say, but if you get yourself an Ibanez with pickup switching and a push pull pot you're way better off than getting a guitar that sounds just like EVERY SINGLE ONE IN IT'S LINE. I have an Ibanez JS with coil tapping and it sounds BETTER than any fender I've played. I've hot rodded it to sound that way and I'm going to maintain that if I want a true wanky strat sound I'll turn around and use my PLYWOOD STRAT KNOCKOFF that sounds just like a 6000$ hot rodded strat.

Fenders and Gibsons aren't the end of the world. Get over it.

I'd love to see and compare all the stuff about the guitars (Wood, Pickups, Durability, and other stuff).
