Shadi trotted through the tall grass with evening sun shining down on the area. She followed the tree line just on the outside edge of the forest. It was much cooler walking through the even the small shade that the trees provide on this hot summer evening.
Shadi scanned the surrounding area with her light green eyes looking for any sign of life. She was bored the more she walked the more everything around her seemed to just blend in with eachother. There wasn't much around her that was new and exciting.
With the heat she hoped the sun would just hurry up and go down, it would be cooler that way atleast. If not that she wished that maybe a breeze would form but so far she had no luck with that happening.

Jean had spent his day, sleeping in his forest hideaway.. Also known as a cave. He had taken very well to the enclosed shelter, and hadnt left.. Hell, he'd even raised his daughter in this cave..
Though she was now very much grown, and he seldom heard the clop if her hooves against stone.. And he missed it..
Stretching his body, he was glad it was night time. He was hoping for a brisk night walk, and this was the only way to go. A breezy night, with stars all around you, making the skies light up like fireflies lit the land.
This wasnt such a bad life he led.

Shadi stopped briefly to relax next to one of the trees. She looked around again and sighed lightly.
After a bit of resting by the tree she thought maybe a walk through the forest might be alittle more interesting. There obviously wasn't anyone area where she was now, but maybe there would be more life beneath the forest trees.
Shadi slowly began to venture in the forest. She blended in nicely with all of the shadows around her. She strained her ears to see if she could hear any signs of life around her.

Jean looked at the black figure. It was oddly colored, with it's green face and splotches.
By the body language, he'd go as far to say that this was a female..
A mare shouldn ever be out alone.. He'd learned that from Nostlagia.. He'd let her alone too much, and Naina had gone motherless because of it.
"Bonjour.." He said, keeping his eyes on her, hoping not to scare her, because sometimes his fangs, scared the little ones away.

Shadi looked up somewhat startled by the greeting not knowing anyone was around. She looked over to see a tan colored stallion with black curly hair not too far away from her.
Shadi hadn't met any stallion that wasn't a family member. She looked at him very curiously. When she saw his fangs, she wasn't alarmed at all really. Mostly because she had never heard of a vampire or anything so she had no real reason to be afraid of them.
She stood there for a moment not sure what to say at first. "Um.. hello there." She said somewhat quietly.

He smiled, offering a kind hearted smile and a wisp of his mane.
His black mass of curls trailed around his face, and his tail echoed his mane across his rear.
It graced his skin like yin and yang. He smiled, giving his most attractive blue eye wink.
"Bonjour there, ma cardonnet. And to what to I owe this pleasure?"

Shadi smiled back lightly as she watched him somewhat curiously. He seemed to have a suave-like manner to him. She felt kind of strange just standing there like she was. Especially with a strand of her mane in front of her face when his was all neatly around his face. That strand of hair always seemed to do that to her. Somewhat embarressedly she blew the hair away from her face and smiled again lightly.
Shadi was not quite what his first sentence meant because she didn't speak french but she didn't bother to ask, she didn't want to look more foolish then she probably already had atleast in her mind. "Well, my name is Shadi and I was just going for a walk then decided to come here to get out of the sun. What about you.. mister.." She said not sure what to call him by.

"Jean-Claude, mademoiselle. You may call me Jean-Claude.."
He smiled. She seemed to be out of place here. Almost nervous.
Did he make her nervous? He smiled again, shaking his head.
"And what a lovely name you have. Does it mean anything? Or was it just a mothers fancy?"

Shadi smiled at him feeling atleast alittle less uncomfortable. "It nice to meet you.. Jean-Claude." She said and nodded her head slightly making her mane fall infront of her face again. She gave up trying to fight with her hair and just left it there.
Shadi laughed lightly. "My name.. ? Well it means sister. I was the only girl out of the three kids." She said and nodded her head again. "What about you.. Jean-Claude, does your name have a certain meaning?"

"Ah what a question indeed.. No, my name means nothing other than my mother and father were oh so very french."
He smiled, swishing his tail and giving a snort.
Shadi meant sister? Well you learn new things everyday.. He knew that his teepeemate was named Esperanza, and her name was Spanish for Hope, and that Naina's name meant lots of things. Naina Julianna Belle Morte. Lovely Julianna Beautiful Death.
He smiled, giving a wink to the mare.
"I was an only child.. Or at least, I think I was."
