Keep to Gaia's TOS.
Be active! At least every other time you're on Gaia if you're online often.
Ensure all threads belong to their relevant subforums.
Use as many areas of the guild as possible. The GFD & EFD should be used just as much as The Tavern.
NO SPAM! Even threads in The Tavern have to have a purpose. Spamming is for Gaia's own chatterbox.
If you have been invited, be sure to check the guild first. We don't like it when people accept, who then don't bother to post, and then complain that they dislike it.
If you dislike the guild or don't want to stay for any other reason, either just do yourself a favour and leave of your own accord, or PM one of the crew to cancel your membership.
Religion may be used in this guild as a reference point, or as a theory behind the discussions that are in progress. Anti-religious comments are prohibited, but you are welcome to bring your beliefs into debates surrounding a concept.
Additionally, you are required to have an open mind and are asked to consider other possibilities & theories.
Realism vs the surreal. This guild deals with most if not all aspects of the fantasy genre. We all know that fantasy can be whatever you want it to be. All we ask on this front is that you consider every side of the genre and do your best to discuss it; offering your thoughts, ideas and whatever else you may deem appropriate for a particular discussion.

The one thing that we desire here in this guild is activity. It does not matter whether you're on every day, every other day, once a week, twice a month or whatever... PLEASE try to be active in the guild whenever you are online.
If there's a topic you think would be great to discuss that isn't already present, create one (but please ensure it is posted in the right subforum). Members and activity make a guild, and if nobody posts anything then we're never going to get anywhere.
By ALL means, make suggestions, post threads and get talking to each other. Not all of us in the guild crew can be around all of the time, because we have our own lives to lead as well. We do what we can when we have the time and means to do so. Half of the effort has to come from you guys as well.
I'd like everyone to use all if not most of the forums we have available. I know the Role-playing Hall is very attractive, but please use the other areas as well. It's not primarily an RP Guild, but it's a big part of it.
We endeavour to do what we can to make the guild an enjoyable place to talk about subjects we all like, and to also make it a place where people can make friends with the same interests. If you have something to complain about, do it in a non-aggressive and neutral manner in a PM to one of the crew members.
If you don't like the guild, sorry but as the guild is private you can view it and see what it's like before making a decision to join. In the case of you joining and then disliking it, I'm afraid there's nothing we can do.
Also, if you have any suggestions as to what would draw you to the guild more, post it in the "I formally request..." thread if you're a member, or PM myself, one of the vice-captains, or a member of the crew and suggest it there. Then we can have a look at your suggestion and give you another PM if and when we take you up on it.
Right now, there's a lot to do on the guild and we're working on it all the time. Most of us in the crew work, are looking for jobs, and/or have other things to do in life besides worry about what we do on Gaia. We do what we can, and asking for any more than that is out of the question. We have an area for general chat, fantasy chat, fantasy and historical discussion, role-play, shops and contests, RPGs and fantasy gaming, fantasy films and anime, writers (published or aspiring), and a place for achives.
We hope you enjoy it.

Requests
If you have any requests or suggestions for the guild in general, please make them known in the "I Formally Request..." thread here in the Foyer.
Requests for role-playing belong in the "Role-playing Suggestions" thread present in the RP Hall. There is also a thread for the Map there where you can request locations for the places you create in role-play.

Grievances
Any grievances that you may have in the guild should be brought to the attention of either myself, one of the vice-captains, or one of the crew members.
If you have a particular complaint, make sure that one of us knows about it so that we can hopefully rectify the situation before you make a decision to leave.
Here are a few examples:
If you create a thread and then find it has been deleted. This may mean that your thread is a duplicate of another. We don't need multiple threads that serve the same purpose as another. To ensure this doesn't happen, please make sure that there are no other threads with the same topic. If, however, this does happen, please don't be offended. There are plenty of topics to chat on, and if you do really want to make another, try to make it differ from another. If we don't know the nature of your thread if it is intended to be different unless you let us know.
If you think there isn't enough to do in the guild. Please note that most of us have busy lives outside of Gaia, and that we can't be around all the time to resolve issues that you might want us to deal with. There is a lot to do on the guild as it is, and we're always trying to improve it. If there is something you want that isn't there, see the Requests section of this guidebook for how you can make suggestions.
When discussions/debates that get hostile. I suggest that you take the matter up personally with me, the Guild Captain or a crew member depending on the nature of the thread in private. We've had incidents in the past and recently that have led to arguments and various misunderstandings between individuals. The Guild Captain is no exception to this rule. Disputes betwen individuals need to be taken to PMs to avoid making other people uncomfortable or reluctant to post in related threads.
Please read through the rules very carefully. Action will only be taken if someone has directly insulted you and it is evident that they have done so. Ambiguous replies to posts that you may feel are offensive can be questioned either in the thread so long as there is no hostility, or in private. Requests for apologies should be made in private as it is not polite to put anyone on the spot in front of other guild members. This is to be done with guild members, but especially the Guild Captain and the crew members.
If there are discussions/debates that are frustrating you. No thread will be taken down unless there is no point to it. If you are getting frustrated with the content of a thread, it is your prerogative to deal with your feelings and emotions on it. If you let your temper get the better of you, hostility will eventually be the result, and this is something that nobody here should have to deal with. If a thread is frustrating you that much, don't post in it or calm yourself down before returing to it. It is not the Guild Captain's problem, it is not a crew member's problem, and it's not another guild member's problem. It's your own, therefore it is you who must deal with it.

Involvement
Becoming Crew
Other options involve becoming a crew member. If you would like to do this, please mention it to one of the crew members, vice-captains or myself and prove to us that you are dedicated to the guild and its cause by being an active member and using most if not all areas of it.
