I can't ask her directly (and I've found this to be the same with Bast, which doesn't surprise me) because she will rarely give me an answer, and when she does it's not serious, it's because she wants me to find out for myself instead of her just telling me everything, which I can respect completely. My question is, does anybody know anything about the name Pero? (Not Perro, which is spanish for "dog") I'd like to know more about her, but she wont tell me anything detailed, just that she knew me preincarnation(yes I did just invent a word, it means before I was incarnated into a physical body). I've only found two things so far: pero (per-a'a) name for the palaces or royal residences of the kings. It meant "great house" and designated not only the royal residence bu also the official governemtn buildigns in the palace complexes. Such centers were called teh "Double House" or the "House of Gold and the House of Silver." In the reign of Tuthmosis III of the 18th dynasty the term began to refer to the king himself.
In Greek mythology, Pero was a daughter of Neleus and Chloris, and the wife of Bias. Her sons included Areius, Leodocus and Talaus.
The story of Pero is mentioned in Book XI of Homer's Odyssey. Pero's beauty attracted many suitors, but Neleus, her father, refused to give his daughter to any man unless he could raid the cattle of Iphicles from Phylace. But obviously both of those are dead ends. Any help? To add to this: Does anybody else have any similar problems?

Actually, to expand on that house definition -
I remember reading somewhere (god knows where) that one of Hathor's names was "the House of Horus" or something similar. Maybe it's like a figurative, metaphorical idea. Mayhaps Pero (as an entity) was your preincarnate mother (since we're working with Egyptian dieites here, I figure it's a decent supposition to make. |D)

As for Pero, I have theories as to maybe she was a preincarnate lover (of which I wouldn't continue on this side simply because it's just not what I'm capable of XD ) but I'm not sure on that. What I'm wanting to look into mostly is if she has any "history" in mankind's literature, history books, and so on.

Typical woman, never telling you the stuff you want/need to know. >o>

There's no sources cited for this little statement I found on Wiki, but it may be a potential lead for you -- Wikipedia's page on Maahes The term Ma'ahes was used to describe the caste of high-priests of Amen, these were high ranking hereditary chiefs who originated in Upper Egypt and in the western desert oases of Siwa, Dahkhla and Kharga, Pinudjem, Psusennese and Masaharta were all Ma'ahes. In this terminology, Ma'ahes means literally, "He who is true beside her". This is in reference to the role of the Ma'ahes as guardians of heiresses whose matrilinear ancestry was rooted far back into predynastic days. The Ma'ahes chiefs and their mistresses believed in the physcial manifestions of divine retribution aspects of powerful storms associated with Tefnut, Sekhmet, Bast and other feline deities. As a consequence they were attributed with the ability to control the weather.

My name actually has a couple translations, including that one and Truth before Ma'at, or, The one who stands in front of Ma'at. In most cases "her" applies to Ma'at, but I am very protective as well, so it could be a nice lead, thanks ^^.
