Brown vs. Board of Education reached the verdict that seperate was not equal.
Then we invent this thing called Civil Unions. Which is the new seperate but equal. Gays have all the rights of a straight marriage but it's calle something different. It's not about the rights, it's about the principles.
Just thought I'd get it out there.

I agree with your ideas. Simply the act of calling it a civil union keeps things separate, but then again it's all part of the Christianity-infused government trying to keep as many rights away from same-sex couples.

I LOVE getting on my teachers cases about it.
the only reason why i didn't debate it in my history class was because everyone stopped me before i could take over.
when she tried to make me believe that there was a separation of church and state in this government.
when she tried to make me beleive that this was a "free" country.
when she tried to make me believe that we had equal rights.
yeah BULL s**t.

Aaaand that's why when we went over to London my sophomore year we were told to say we were "from Alaska" rather than "from America"...*sadly nods* We are such a mixed-up country...

SubHumanRemains she tried to make me believe that there was a separation of church and state in this government. HAHAHA! Yeah I asked my history teacher:
"Don't we have a separation of church and state?" "Supposedly."
I heart him

well the whole thing about the "America thing"
is that (we're so conceited) WE'RE NOT AMERICA.
We're IN America. actually we're only in NORTH America.
there's also a central America
and a South America.
my old english teacher went to Brazil and was talking to this Brazilian and said "well you should come visit us in America sometime"
and he was very confused. "I am in America..."

Consider this officially fourthed.
I was in Philosophy class last year, and the teacher tried to skirt the topic of gay marriage. I wouldn't let him, saying point-blank that regardless of what the Bible says that should have no impact on the way our government functions. He said that marriage was a Christian institution and I nearly laughed at him. I told him that marriage long predated Christianity, and that not all marriages today are Christian either. He could not find a good reason to ban gay marriage, but one of the kids did it for him, proclaiming rather loudly, "Gay Marriage is icky!" He was 17 at the time.
What a dumbass....
