-People won't stop saying things like how do you read that and those backwards books are weird.
-Kids at my school are idiots and keep asking me "You like to read?!" I respond yes and they say I'm weird.
-Kids keep calling me a Japan freak. One time I was starting to get mad about it and I corrected them and said I was an otaku. They started calling me an otaco. I was ready to punch them but I just buried my face in a Death Note manga and my anger went away.
-Probably the thing that I hate the most is that none of these people have seen or read an anime or manga and if they have it was a bad anime or a bad episode.

Oh, the kids at my school are pretty dumb. This is actually really infuriating but now amuses me. rofl We had to do a talk on things we were interested in last year and i chose anime. Everyone said it was lame and blah blah blah... I ignored it and so on. But this year the retards are into Naruto and are throwning ninja stars around and stuff. I'm glad they're into it but i know it's just a phase but anime has been my life... and will be forever blaugh

There's an anime club at my school that meets once a week, though I'm not a member. In my school there are two kinds of people, people who love it and people who hate it. Everyone in my school knows about anime/manga, even the principals and teachers. When it was the open house for school, one of the first clubs the teachers mention is the anime club.

There isn't much talk about it, but most of my friends (at least the ones I hang out with) play the YGO TCG. 3nodding Our Japanese Club has an anime section, so there isn't really a need for an anime club, although that would be nice.

I'm a lucky one, because the college I chose has an anime club. Everyone is so fun. I almost always bring a manga to classes to read, unless I have a book that I'm really into at the time. Everyone knows me as the girl in the shiny headband, and sometimes the harvester hat that is always reading something.

Erm, no one has ever been overly rude to me about liking anime, but that might be because they don't know...
We have an anime club that my friend started last year. It's still pretty unorganized.
Our new librarian that came last year also loves comics/manga and has been working on building up our library with books that would interest teenagers, including manga (I know she at least ordered Death Note).

My school doesn't have an anime club.....but...Our librarian is really awesome! She ordered a few anime at the beginning of last year to see if anyone would read it...and me and a buttload of my friends were constantly at that shelf looking at the manga....So..she ordered a lot more and let all of us mark and shelf them....yeah I know...People always call me a nerd cause I always have manga on me but I know that's just cause I'm awesome and they are losers....lol

I've neverr been made fun of for reading manga or liking anime. Most people usually end up asking to look at it, though i rarely read anything at school because I'm usually messing around during my free blocks. My friends like anime but we dont overly talk about it unless we're talking about a series we recommend the other read or watch, for me, it is mostly an online thing.
Oh and if those people keep being mean to you, just get some good comebacks to stump them but don't stoop to their level. Just say what you need to say and then shut up or leave.
Comebacks: It's funny, how a guy/girl like you can have such a tiny brain and still have a huge mouth.

I remember there was a time about 2 years ago when I brought in Fruits Basket vol.6, it has Momji on the front cover. I was reading it in French because I didn't have anything better to do and some people came up to me. Here's the conversation - "Hey, Devon. What're you reading? Are you reading it backwards!?" "It's called Fruits Basket and this is how it is suppose to be read." "Oh... Okay. That's a pretty girl on the cover though." "Accutally, it's a guy." "...Are you serious?" "Yes, I'm serious." "You have to be lying. That's a guy!" "No, it's a girl." Then pure horror was put on their face and I couldn't help but laugh at it. I never had to go through a conversation like that again though.
