So when the movie of this came out, and some one had mentioned the book, it intrigued me. Everyone said it was funny. But then I read the book. And although I couldn't put the book down, I by no means thought it was funny.

If Running with Scissors is hysterical, so is A Child Called It.

Basically, I was just wondering if anyone else had read the book and whether or not you found it funny.

I've been meaning to read it. So it's apparently not funny, but is the book good?

wll... i found the movie funny..... but not in that LOL ROFL kinda way.... its really dry, underlying humour that crops up in the situations

Kind of... I just thought it absolutely awful that it's pretty much the guy's life.

I mean, I read the book in like a day, it went really fast. But, it should have a mature content warning on it.

It definitly wasnt what i'd call funny. A better read by him (i thought) was DRY. Its was hard to put down, but it still has that same dark dry humor type thing going for it, but i think it read better and i really liked the subject matter. Which was Augusten Burroughs struggle with alcohol addiction. Its crazy how truly whacked his life has been. I mean cant he catch a break question
