Silent Hill is an incredible psychological horror series that has captivated players for years. The series' peak: Silent Hill 2, was a masterpiece in every aspect. Are you a Silent Hill fan? I know I am!

Me! Me! ME! I am! I AM! *bounces up and down, steel pipe in tow*

Two was nothing short of fantastic, but I ruined it for myself by spoiling myself. I know I would have relished that wonderfully horribly moment when James realizes the truth. However, I still loved it very much. (Not to mention the wonderful parodies it has spawned. twisted )

I played Four next, and was vastly disappointed. I really like Henry (he's rather cute), I like Eileen, I like Walter. I really liked the basic idea and plot.
But somewhere it just fell flat. Most of the time, I wasn't scared, just disgusted, bored or frustrated. By the time I was going back through all the worlds, I was checking my watch and trying to figure out how much time I had left. The endings were horribly short, and not worth the effort I felt like I put in to it. *shakes head*

Nooow, I start Three!
Fancy some barbequed dog, anyone? twisted

The backtracking in 4 was indeed a pain in the rear end. What I loved about 4 though was the graphical style: filtered looking black and grey(the little flickering when you enter into a world from the hole is awesome). The logo looks great too, but there wasn't any of the SH series' trademarks in SH4! No shotgun, radio, or flashlight! crying gonk

Have you tried looking for SH1? SH3 may make more sense if you played SH1 first, but it may be difficult to find a copy.

I liked the switch to first-person in the apartment. Made the hauntings so much creepier.

xd Actually, I read up about the entire series before I played, so I already know about the whole Alessa story.
But I do really want to play SH1 so very much, if I can ever find a copy.

Ahh so you have, alright then 3nodding

I'm not too excited about SH Origins. The idea about putting a SH game on a portable console disturbs me.

>:/ Yeah. I can't get too creeped out by something that's coming at me on a 4 inch screen. (Yes, I'm sure the screen is bigger, but you get what I'm saying).

That's what I think, along with the fact that trying to get creeped when playing around a crowd of people isn't exactly the easiest thing to do :/

I've only seen the movie. *shaaame*
But it looks really interesting, and I love horror/survival games (FATAL FRAME FTW). I'll probably rent it before I buy it, though.

Try renting SH 1 if you can, if you cannot, try SH 2, it's quite simply...A MASTERPIECE eek

*nodnod* Nomad's right. SH2 is fantabulous!

Just....don't play SH4. Henry (main protagonist) is a cute little muffin, but he cannot save the game from the annoyingness.

I liked the graphical style of SH4, but yes it was annoying in spots. Burping nurses, WTF!?

What?! You completely missed the entertainment value of the Patients!
One of the most hilarious parts of the game is when you're fighting them on the stairs! You send them flying, and they belch their way down. Had me in giggles for far too long.
