Playing real guitar helps at all with Guitar Hero skills?

I think it would help some. You're fingers are probably more loose and help you move around better if you play real guitar a lot. If that even made sense. I don't play real guitar tho, so I don't really know.

Not really. I play the guitar and play Guitar Hero and it doesn't really help.

it wouldnt help for me. i cant afford a gh controller so i use standard dualshock ones...

no it doesnt actually since the actual guitar you have to stretch ur fingers really far apart for certain notes and since theres only 5 buttons compare that to the real one which has 6 strings the only simarly is that there are hammer-ons and pull-offs on both game and real guitar

I think it would. Check out the video of a couple Dragonforce members playing against a couple guys from IGN I believe. They did pretty damn good for not playing the game before.

I played guitar way before Guitar Hero but it may help with cordination....like using the frets and strumming at the same time....but nothing like guitar solos or whatever...
