Today I bought the cd Queen II. It came with bonus tracks of remixes of Ogre Battle and 7 Seas of Rhye. Ogre Battle didn't sound any different. But 7 Seas is TOTALLY WEIRD! eek Has anyone else heard this mix? It's got this nasty weird dance club beat to it, the original 7 Seas song on top, with some Mustapha mixed in, and other various parts of songs. It was done in 1991. Please tell me whats going on in this song. confused

I think I heard that a while back. Quite, quite weird. I wonder who they got to do it... and if it was the rest of Queen, that was a very unusual idea for them. razz
And yeah, I don't even know what they did with the Ogre Battle one. I guess I'd have to listen to them side-by-side to tell, but... O___o"

Yeah, somebody did a lot of re-mixes for different albums. It wasn't Queen, though. It's on my iPod who did it, so i'll check when i'm in the car and come back with that. Seven Seas is the worst of the lot, i think.

I can't stand most remixes that come with Queen stuff. The Dragon Attack one was horrible. It didn't even sound like it went together, it was just like a bunch of s**t thrown onto a track.

That should be a crime.

I know..
There's a terrible remix of Body Language on my Hot Space cd... luckily it's at the end of the cd, so I can just switch to a different one.. I didn't bother ripping any of the remixes when I put my cds into my Windows Media Player playlist...

iTunes was being a bit of a b*tch the day i was moving my Queen on... and then i put all the songs on my iPod. i have this weird thing where i can't stand having an incomplete album. Like, if i have extra songs from an artist, i will make an album for them. This has led to names like "Alice Cooper's Eighteen Dead Widows" (I have the extra tracks Dead Babies, The Black Widow, and Eighteen Wheeler, but i don't have those albums). So i've kept the remixes.

Yeah, I know what you mean with the Seven Seas remix...within the first five seconds of the time I first played it, I was like, "WTF!?". There's something about synthesized drums that I really don't like--they just have this cheesy, fake sound to them. And the whole remix was quite redundant, with the repeated "Seven Seas o' Rhye--hey!" going on throughout the whole thing. I really don't get remixes--I mean, why mess around with what the artist originally wanted the to be by adding a bunch of crap to it? Usually, all they really do is totally destroy the song.
So...yeah. I'm not too big of a fan of remixes, either. I feel your "confuzzlement". XD

Usually I can't stand remixes in general. Remixes of Queen should be a crime
