Announcement

I greatly apologize for the huge delay for any entries or RPing from me. With finals approaching faster than you know, I am running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get all of my work finished. Journal entries and RPs will be up as soon as I have the time, which will usually be on weekends. One journal entry, the homecoming entry, is expected to be finished by Monday, December 6th and no later than that. From that point on, I will be able to get some of the entries and whatnot finished during the week but it will be more common to see them on the weekends. Again, I apologize for the extreme delay.

Name: Alikan
Age: 24
Occupation: Research Scientist
Physical Details: She has long, straight jet black hair and blue eyes. She has a medium tan. She has a thin build and enjoys working out when she is not in her lab. She stands at an average 5'4". Her face is almond shaped and ends with a delicate chin. When she was a teenager she had her nose pierced and she wears the diamond nose ring every once in a while. Also, when she was a teenager she went to a world renown tattoo artist, upon their appointment together she decided to get a set of wings tattooed on her back.

Her motto is "The world contains great light and great darkness and that one cannot exist without the other". And with that motto always running through her mind, her passion is to create great works of art..with people. She believes that when human intelligence is combined with the instincts and traits of an animal it will yield a fine piece of art and also the ultimate specimen. She has yet to create the "perfect" human..but that is about to change and she doesn't even know it.

More to come..

[Homecoming]

“The advancement of science solely rests on scientists’ shoulders. Fast scientists shoulders.” Alikan grumbled with only one thing on her mind. “There must be some way to isolate the gene that hollows out bones and creates wings..if scientists can find the gene that creates ears from humans and extract them onto the back of mice, I can figure this riddle out.” She wiped the sweat from her brow, pulled her ebony hair back with a thin rubber band from the surface of the ice cold counter and stared into the diagrams, as if trying to decode a secret message that was hidden beyond the words and figures. “Damn it, I need a break.” She slammed the huge human anatomy book lying upon her desk close. She didn’t bother to push in her chair, she simply grabbed her jacket that was hung on a rack near the door and huffed her way outside.

It was a gloomy day. The wind was whipping against her house and the clouds began to turn. She pulled the maroon hood over her head and ventured onto the street. She looked towards her white sedan, the rain pelting down on the windshield. She thought about taking it, but realized that it would be foolish to waste the gas. Besides, her destination was just a few blocks beyond her house. The city had just erected a new strip mall not located far from Alikan’s house. She figured she could take her mind off of her experiment for a while and enjoy a little bit of shopping. “Shopping and chocolate are just what I need right now.” She chuckled.

There were just three stores in the “mall” so far. She stepped further along the sidewalk and read the shop signs out loud. “Harmann’s Art Supplies” She paused, ”nope, doesn’t look like I’ll need anything in there at the moment, just sketching pencils for my diagrams regarding the experiment.” She growled at the thought of her failing experiment and rushed to the next store. “The Old Chest” She noticed the sign said, and just below it read “The place for all of your old book findings and bindings.” She giggled at their motto and hurried to the next shop, the last shop. It looked homely and the aroma surrounding the shop reminded her of her grandma’s house. She took another great whiff before stepping inside.

The bell above the door jingled as she entered. A woman with blonde hair smiled at her and she moved closer to the center of the shop. A big banner above the check out counter read “Ye Olde Simulacra Shop”. The whole store was brimming with beautiful, timeless antiques. “This place in wonderful.” She said to the woman while looking around. The most abundant item were mirrors, all different shapes and sizes of them. They had ivory mirrors, metal mirrors, even mirrors with jewels encrusted with them. Alikan couldn’t get enough of this unique shop she had come across. She ventured near the woman at the counter to peer at what precious items were behind the counter. She spotted a necklace. It looks to be made of rope and edged with feathers. The woman noticed my gawking and turned towards me. “That necklace just beyond the glass there is priceless.” The saliva accumulating in her mouth began to lessen at the sound of those very words coming from the woman standing before her. She looked up to the woman with eyes of disbelief; the woman didn’t soften her look or say a word. Just when Alikan was about to turn around believing this was one of the worst days of her life, the woman called out, “But, you are the only one to have taken interest in it in 50 years. It was worn by my great, great grandmother. It was worn to keep evil spirits away. Since you have noticed this necklace, I would like you to have it free of charge.” And with that, the woman took it out of the glass case and handed it to me. “B-but..didn’t this store just open?” She asked. The woman just smiled, waved towards me and disappeared as if her body underwent spontaneous combustion. Although, with some investigation Alikan noted that it wasn’t combustion but had to be some sort of force acting upon the woman. She clutched the necklace in her palm. It sent a very intense feeling all throughout her body. She smiled, and began to walk home.
