The Great Miraj Name: Miraj Davenport Stage Name: The Great Miraj Occupation: Illusionist Ethnicity: European Caucasian. Age: Twenty-Three years Hair: Auburn Eyes: Light Brown Height: 5'9 Skin Complexion: Light peach, but tans easily. Weight: 127 lbs. Born In: Chicago, Illinois, United States of America Current Residence: Aurora, Illinois, United States of America Marital Status: Unmarried, in a relationship. Enjoys: Classical music, Italian food, tennis, crooked logic, being an illusionist, and caffeine. Likes: Cats, rain, science, theology, preforming for an audience, and angels. Avoids: Flying insects, dairy products, and animals that shed a lot. Dislikes: Salt, soda, cows, crackers, and lack of proper lighting.Personality The Great Miraj, that's what they call him! Great, magnificent, amazing with an overwhelmingly charming personality. Or so he'd say so himself with a little bow to his one person audience. A crowd's a crowd, regardless of it's size. And Miraj was always a performer, if nothing else. If it makes the crowd gasp or laugh or gape in awe, it's worth doing. If it makes the crowd angry, joyous, makes them cry or makes them lean in and sit on the edge of their seat-- it's worth doing. But the man's quite different when preforming for a crowd from when he's alone or with people who he's known for quite some time. Even still, the man enjoys surprising people-- be those who he's close to or not.
But the man, from time to time, runs himself into a rut and has something akin to a breakdown. The man stresses himself out and simply bottles it up until it's entirely overwhelming and he turns vicious, foul-tempered, and moody. He rarely means to, but he'll almost always slip in an apology and either attempt to avoid the person he lost his temper at or linger around them more then normal, attempting to make it up to them with small favors and gifts.
Overall, however, the man is either laid back or very in to entertaining all those around him with illusions and tricks and anything else that crosses his mind-- and it can amuse people or be rather grating on their nerves-- and sometimes Miraj doesn't know quite when to stop.Appearance A usually pale auburn haired man with a silver tongue and a gift for fooling people, Miraj Davenport stands at a non-imposing (and actually rather meek,) five foot nine. He's thin to a point where it looks as if he doesn't eat as much as he should-- and he doesn't, in all truth. When he lays down, it's quite easy to see his ribs-- though he makes a habit of keeping them covered when he can.
Usually he can be found in simple dress clothes-- or at least a white dress shirt, one of the few constants of his ever changing outfits. But most often, he'll patch the clothing with something or another to add a bit of color-- usually something akin to a heart, something that, while has little meaning to him, his current love interest seems to appreciate. But as far as his other clothing items are concerned, he can usually be found lounging around in a pair of fitted blue jeans (another something his love interest appreciates) or simple black pants.
One other item, however, seems to come close to an almost constant-- a black top hat with a green ribbon tied tightly around it and hanging down to just near the nape of his neck.
The man, most often, looks rather worn and messy, usually an appearance cast by his hair, which happens to always be tussled and windswept.
Miraj tends to give off the image off a teenager pushed forward a few years into a stage where he was supposed to be grown up-- but just hasn't quite caught onto that fact yet-- and he knows it.
Ah-- and there's art bellow, in case you'd like a visual reference.
Objects
Miraj wasn't able to take many things with him-- for he didn't know what would happen-- but there were two small lovebirds tucked into his shirt pocket (they sleep there,) and a few other small 'magical' objects. Two large decks of cards, the basis of all good tricks; a few orange cat-eye marbles, a zippo lighter with an 'ace' design, and a few good sized sheets of flash paper-- A few of the things he needed for a small performance. But it isn't likely anyone will be ready to watch...

Say What? Quetzalcóatl
The Name: The name "Quetzalcóatl" literally means quetzal-bird snake or serpent with feathers of the Quetzal (which implies something divine or precious) in the Nahuatl language.
Origin: Wikipedia In Aztec religion, Quetzalcoatl was a benefactor god, considered a leader among the deities, that would come back after his departure to take back the empire. This feathered serpent god was connected to the planet Venus. Today Quetzalcoatl is the most well-known Aztec deity, and is often thought to have been the principal Aztec god. Some scholars think that Quetzalcoatl was just one god in a pantheon of gods, not considered superior to the others.
...There are representations of snakes with bird-like characteristics as old as the Olmec preclassic (1150-500 BC). The snake represents the earth and vegetation, but it was in Teotihuacan (around 150 BC) where the snake got the precious feathers of the quetzal, as seen in the Murals of the city.
...Teotihuacan was dedicated to Tlaloc, the water god, at the same time Quetzalcoatl, as a snake, was a representation of the fertility of the earth, and it was subordinate to Tlaloc. As the cult evolved, it became independent.
In time Quetzalcoatl was mixed with other gods and acquired their attributes. Quetzalcoatl is often associated with Ehecatl, the wind god, and represents the forces of nature, and is also associated with the morning star. (Venus)
...The Teotihuacan influence took the god to the Mayas, who adopted him as Kukulkán. The Maya regarded him as a being who would transport the gods.
...The Toltecs would associate Quetzalcoatl with their own god, Tezcatlipoca, and make them equals, enemies and twins. (A quetzal is a brightly colored bird of the trogon family (Trogonidae) found in tropical regions of the Americas. Quetzalcóatl was thought to have the feathers of a resplendent quetzal.)
Appearance: Quetzalcóatl was not a snake with wings, rather, it was a snake with feathers on it's body. However, it's varied a little bit by modern day, sometimes ending up as a snake with wings or a snake with feathers on its body that lead to wings that can vary from the entire length of the snake's body to being rather small, no larger then the snake's head. Each and every rendition of this creature is different, but one things always remains the same: Quetzalcóatl is a feathered serpent. [x][x][x][x][x]

So Tell Me More The Pukka
Appearance: Miraj's pukka, as I'm sure you're curious to know, is a feather charm with a light green cast. It's entirely similar to the ones you can buy in packages at any craft store, really, excluding, of course, the green coloration. But that could be anything-- where it was worn down by time, where it's first contact with skin caused it to change colors-- anything, really.
Nothing out of the ordinary whatsoever, mind you. [x]
Why?: Feathers have always been an object of interest for the ever curious performer, birds and angels have always fascinated him. How could any creature fly by beating tiny wings? And with feathers, feathers that are small and delicate and easy to tare.
Feathers and flying go hand in hand for him. Other creatures that could fly but didn't have feathers-- bats, bees-- none of them ever held that same spark for him.
Constantly, the man will use feathers in his performances, or pick one up off of the street in curiosity-- he even has a pair of lovebirds at home and gives them near free reign of the house.
Feathers are a vital part of his curiosity and are faintly symbolic to Miraj of that curiosity, which he considers to be of utmost importance in life. After all, he does make a living playing up to people's curiosity...
Where?: The easiest place to find a feather-- a bird's nest, discarded and half smashed in his back yard. It's assumable that it fell from the dogwood tree back there-- and it's also assumable that the feather was carried there by one of the birds who had made the nest-- after all, the birds could be just as curious as he was, couldn't they? Whatever the reasoning, whatever the thought, it would be taken and strung up with a leather necklace with yellow and green beads, oh so lovingly crafted by his wonderful love interest.

And I Will Be More The Stages
Dormancy As to be expected, Miraj would be in shock and disbelief at what just happened. He would attempt to approach the villagers and probably attempt something along the lines of one of his tricks, which most likely wouldn't end in his favor. Magic, you know. Or at least an illusion of magic-- like they'll need any more reason to dislike and distrust him. Of course, his appearance and behavior at the dormancy stage will be that of his normal self, albeit his normal self in shock. No dizziness, but minor headaches, making him a little bit more irritable then normal.
Awakening Appearance-- Dry and off-color spots of skin will be scattered across his arms and torso, the most notable of which on his neck. That spot will have dim coloration of the scales to be. Parts of the tips of his hair will be wispy and change to a dim emerald or ruby coloring. His eyes will also move apart slightly.(Of course, this is only a personal concept image and Miraj's appearance through this and the following stages will be up to the artist.)Personality/Instincts/Habits-- Miraj will develop a habit of lacing his fingers together and rocking gently back and forth from side to side. Personality-wise, Miraj will be fretful over the scales and his hair, mind wandering to possible logical reasoning-- and finding none, the man will fall into a small rut of self-pity that he'll attempt to hide from any others with an over-eccentric personality. However, he'll merely write off the figures in his dreams as merely that-- dreams.
Metamorphosis Appearance-- More dry and colored skin patches, covering the majority of his body and becoming smooth in the places they had been previously. Feathers will begin to appear on his arms and legs, and his hair will become entirely wispy and feather-like, turning a dim emerald or ruby while the tips will be brightly colored. His eyes will move further apart and become angled, and his pupils will start to round off into ovular slits. The bone structure of his face will change to be slightly elongated forward, as to give him the facial structure more of a snake, as will his jaw widen slightly. His neck will also elongate and his torso will thin slightly.
Personality/Instincts/Habits-- Miraj will develop a dislike of the cold and calm down his hyper-active personality a bit. He'll also develop a habit of licking his lips. The once-illusionist will begin to talk with a lisp, brought on by his newly changed jaw structure. He'll be slightly less inclined to do things for little reason and he'll suffer from constant pains brought on by a number of things, including his changing bone structure. He'd give up on searching for an explanation and look upon the change with a melancholy outlook. The man will also refuse to eat vegetables and fruit at this point, making him mostly a carnivore. Rarely he'll eat food such as bread, but, finding it tasteless, he'll try to avoid it if he can.
Evolution Appearance-- His skin will now be entirely covered in colorful scales. His upper arms will have fused to his thinned torso and hands webbed thickly. His legs would have fused together as well, leaving a thick and lengthy tail. More feathers will grow, leaving the sides of his tail and his forearms covered mostly in iridescent green or red feathers. Once more his jaw would elongate and mouth widen, leaving a fully functional snake's mouth complete with a forked tongue and fangs. His feather-hair would have angled back and framed the back side of his head and neck. His neck and torso would have thinned and elongated considerably, so much so that the pukka, the only item of clothing/accessory he would still have at this point, would have to be tied tightly around near the base of his skull.
Personality/Instincts/Habits-- His speaking will be plagued with an incredibly strong lisp and occasional hisses and snaps. He'll take strongly to laying out in the sun and eating rare meat. Miraj will begin to eat his food in single bites, swallowing large portions of it whole. His personality, obvious from habits and instincts now formed, will turn to acceptance and curiosity of his new form, writing it off as a simple trick caused by the shadow figures that the illusionist had yet to figure out. In truth, he'll know that his line of thought is entirely impossible but can't accept it. He'll become a bit irritable about his personal space but have odd outbursts of his old personality where he'll be rather hyper and generally good-tempered, but possessive of objects that aren't even his unless there's a large amount of trust.
Genesis Appearance-- His arms would have fully merged with his torso now, leaving feathery wings in their place. He'll be long and thin, snake-like with all the feather's he's to have. The only giving away his once-humanity appearance-wise will be the feather-charm pukka hanging tightly by a leather necklace under the base of his skull.
Personality/Instincts/Habits-- He'll act much the same as he did in the last stage, but he'll be guided faintly by a once hyperactive illusionist with a thing for showmanship. He'll be very protective and defensive at this point, guarding anything he considers as his very, very closely-- including his food supply and any little object (or person) he picked up along the way.
