Luna's bright pink eyes slowly opened. She let out a yawn and did a cat stretch as she slowly got up out of her hallowed out stump. Her sight was a bit blurred and her memory of the events from yesterday werent kicking in. Thats why shen she saw Lettarrio sleeping in her stump she nearly jumped out of her skin. A yipe escaped her as she backed away trying to recall yesterdays events.
Slowly but surely her memory caught up with her. The sea being the first, a mysterious gem. She was going to travel with Lettarrio to go see it, now she remembered. Her tail wagged some just thinking of the sea, a mysterious gem that out shined the rest, she couldnt wait to get going.
Padding lightly over to the male who had spent the night with her, she nuzzled him softly, "Hey," She started, "Wakey wakey." It was nice to not wake up alone for once but Luna still didnt comprehend that it wasnt polite to wake up others.

The male was dead asleep - he hadn't slept like this in ages! Well, he hadn't had a roof over his head in ages, and no one to sleep next to. It was nice, and for once he didn't have to worry much about where he was or what was going on around him. He didn't have to pretend sleep, didn't have to be fully aware.
Ah, bliss...
And then his eye shot open, rolling for a second as he took in these momentarily unfamiliar surroundings. All the strange objects glinted in the morning light, temporarily blinding him as he lifted his head a bit, swiveling it to and fro.
Who in the hell was waking him up?
They must have a death wish... the orange eye blinked several times as it adjusted, and finally settled on Luna's face. Who... "Oh. Right. Luna. Good morning," he mumbled, jowls widening in a exaggerated yawn as the lone stretched, then slunk out of the stump.
They were going to the sea. "Sleep well?"

Luna yawned again before replying, "Yeah," She was still a tad sleepy but knew that she would start to wake up soon. Her glance was diverted to her shimmering items. The morning sun always made them the most beautiful, she thought to her self. Her heart would miss her stump but she was on to bigger and better things. Like the sea. Letterio had told a tale that had its arms wrapped around her sights.
"We should get going," She started while her tail wagged at the thought of the treasure at the end of the yellow bricked road. She wanted to get started as soon as possible. Her excitement was greater then that of a child on Christmas.

"So eager. It'll be a fair trip, don't worry. Three days at most, I wager." Letarrio said offhandedly as he nibbled at his paws, then searched for that carcass they had dragged with them. Pinpointing it close by, he raised a brow, moving his face closer to the meat until the breath he exhaled began to blow the ants and other creep crawlies that had come to feast in the night. Thankfully, it wasn't too wasted, and would still be good for a small meal.
Rather ravenously - as the lone usually was upon seeing meat - he forced his powerful jaws on the flesh, ripping a good sized strip clean off the bones. Taking it into his mouth, he chewed, savoring the slightly hardening meat - it now had a sort of likeness to jerky, though with a lingering odor.
"We have to eat first, and find some water before we leave. You can never be sure when your next meal will be. We're lucky to even have this." He dipped his maw at the deer meat, ears straining forward at the morning birds' chirps.

Luna nodded as she padded over the the carcass. The meat was in relatively good shape, few parts here and there had started to turn but nothing she couldnt stumache. She was a wolf after all. Diving in with no care about whether she was biting into tainted meat or the good stuff her powerful jaws went to work. Taring at the meat from the bones. The meat was now some what tougher then when it was fresh but that didnt bother the female at all. It gave her jaws a powerful work out.
"So," She said with a mouth full of dried flesh, "You know where we are going?" She swallowed. The food tasted so good. They had a long journey ahead of them and when ever they got their next meal could be days. Unless they got lucky and happened apon a heard. She dived back into the flesh and took more meat in her powerful jaws crushing ,what juice was still left, out of the meaty tissue. She could have sworn she swallowed a spider. But she didnt dwell on that thought before diving into the carcass again. The meat bitter and dry yet a hint of juice here and there. It was good.

The male took another bite and downed it, looking up at Luna as he swallowed. "Not really, but I know some signs that'll lead us there." Dwelling on the stories he remembered, he took another bite and chewed. His lone eye searched the area carefully, doting on the hollow stump before returning to Luna.
"And if we get lost," he said between bites, "we'll just enjoy the scenery. You seem like you don't get out much anyway - this'll be good for you." Letarrio grinned lopsidedly, tails wagging as he was also infected by her excitement.

Luna was going to defend her self with his last statement but really she couldnt, he was right. She had stayed in her cushioned life style safe and happy and away from others for a very long time. Taking another bite of flesh, the flavor of dry meat seeping into her taste buds.
"Your right," She said looking back up, "The scenery." She said with a half smile. "We should get going soon," She said as she took one last bite into the flesh.

"Alright, alright." Letarrio mused, picking himself up and stretching one last time. "Since someone's in such a rush, let's go." He raised a brow, lifted his head, and peered at her with his good eye, then looked back at the stump. "And you won't be seeing that for a while. You'll be sleeping under the stars!" A small chuckle broke from the wolf's silky voice, and he started in a slow gait, looking back at the other.
This would definitely be fun. He rarely went on adventures like this for fun, let alone had companions to share his time with. Who knows what they would find on their journey?

Luna looked back at the stump and all of her prized objects and then looked ahead of her towards Letarrio, and smiled. "Thats alright," She started, "Rocks wont run away," She said jokingly. She was a tad worried to leave them, how ever, this was way over shadowed on how much she wanted to see the ocean. The greatest gem ever created by earth. Magical and dangerous in its own way, she had to see it.
She turned her back to the stump and headed towards Letarrio. Her head was held up high and she was focused on the path before her, "I'm ready," She said with a smile passing by Letarrio. She did not look back at the stump. All that she could do now is look forward.

Letarrio sprang forward, taking a good couple of yards past Luna in just a few seconds, a wild laughter pouring from his maw. "Then let's go!" Two tails wagged furiously as he slowed, turning around to see how far behind he had left his companion. A single orange eye glittered as a lopsided grin further lightened his features, and his gaze soon rose towards canopies, where dappled light filtered down on his fur.
The sea... in its majestic mystery, it's clear shallows, dangerous swells, the might of its dark depths. The way it was said to sparkle in rainbow-shades when the sun disappeared below it. The stories he'd heard of the storms that churned the waters and revealed an eerie calm afterwards... could there be anything more magnificent?

"He-HEY!" Luna was taken completely off guard by Letarrio's playful tatics. She had been completely left in the dust. He had slowed down but still a great distance ahead. Lucky for her he was still in sight. Her back paws kicked off the ground speeding the young female up til she was at a good speed. Wind rushing against her face and fur making her eyes squint. Closer and closer she got til bam.
Next thing she knew she was looking up at a tree. A small consquence for not paying full attention where she was going. Slowly she stumbled back onto all fours. Laterrio wasnt far now but her head hurt, she was going to have to trot after him at a slower speed until the head ache had passed. She slowly started after him again before regaining a nice trot. Paying attention now to where she was going.

Letarrio watched her, then jumped around and lifted his rear in the air, front end lowered as he waved his tail like a banner. She was running... closer, closer, closer! She was almost there! If they had a long journey ahead, they might as well make it fun, and fun was what the lone wolf loved most.
That, and adventure.
'BAM!'
So much for the adventure.
"Lu-u~," The male started, then his voice was caught in hysterical laughter as he dropped himself onto the ground and rolled around in the dirt. "L-luna! Wha- What's wrong with you!" He squealed brokenly through chuckles, twin tails kicking up a flurry of dirt and leaves as they flailed around behind him. Letarrio was really a playful kind of guy, though he was only like this - foolish, competitive, and childish - with people he considered friends.
At least he wasn't chasing his tail yet.
His laughter calmed and he cleared his throat, eye lifting to the birds that had flown from the trees, startled by the two as they began their shenanigans. "Well..." a little too high-pitched, and a 'snrk' snuck in so he had to start over. "Well. You could at least do that to a tree with a squirrel in it."
His tails swatted at the underbrush as they wagged and curled, bobbing along with the tawny wolf as he continued on at a slower, calmer pace.

Luna's face turned as pink as a summer peach. Though it was not seen through her gray fur. One good thing about being a wolf was the fur to hide when you blushed or were embarassed. She slowly made her way towards the male who was now laughing like a hyena. A smile found its way on her maw though it was unseen.
"Y-yeah," Luna said with a bit of a chuckle her self, "To bad a whole family of squirrels didn't get knocked out of that tree," It had been pretty humorous. Luna was one who could laugh at her self from time to time as long as the humor was spiteful. Spiteful humor in general where not to her palate's liking. A throbbing pain lingered from the event that had just taken place but all and all she was fine. Luna was never one to complain, even more so if it was about something as meaningless like a head ache.
"Well," Luna said still a little ashamed of her carelessness, "Guess where back on the trail huh?" The ocean was still lingering in her thoughts. A gem that beautiful and they were going to go see it. It was supposed to be the biggest gem she had ever seen. Glittering in the moonlight with such power.

He swatted gently at her maw with his paw as they continued, a lingering grin and a few chuckles taking over for his voice, a distinct bounce in his step.
"There is no trail, Luna! Where on the scent." The scarred head was held high as he took a deep breath of crisp, moist air from the forest floor, ears swiveling in all directions as his excited gaze followed the movements of birds through the trees and of insects as they darted by. "Do you know what the sea smells like, Luna?"
He highly doubted that, and even he was unsure, as he had only heard of it in stories he barely remembered.

This gem had a smell? What kind of gem was it? Luna's bright pink eye's were looking into Letarrio's now. Pools of pink deep and full of wonder.
"Smell?" Luna was feeling a tad dumb now. Smell? Gem's had scents? Come to think of it, some of her gems had a rough earthy smell to them. It was not a strung musk of earth but a hint. "Does the ocean smell earthy?" Of course she was way off but the young wolf was clueless to a lot of things out side these woods. She had never really gone and explored for her self to see.
