You would be hard pressed to find a Soquili - to be frank, any creature alive - whose love for the world was greater than that which Tay had harbored inside of her since foalhood. So often she could be seen grazing out in the open, mindless of the weather and of others around her. She was a picture of peace and tranquility when she was out alone, so relaxed and completely at ease out in the open where there was no shelter to hinder her freedom. Ever since she had been old enough to romp out on her own she had come to the same place every day, just past the sun's peak, and stay there until late into the afternoon. On good days, she would more often than not stay out until sunset.
Today was such a day. The sun was far along in its daily cycle and was beginning to near the horizon far into the west, a great burning ball of gas radiating light out to warm the earth. The first rays of orange and pink were beginning to tinge the pale blue sky, undisturbed by wind and clouds. Tay lifted her head from where she had been methodically cropping the grass, her ears tilting forwards at the sight of the lowering sun. As always she felt her heart swell as she watched the streaks of pastels slowly color the sky and she smiled to herself, so that for once she looked like the mare that she was, but so often refused to be.

The young foal hadn't a clue where she was. Bright eyes shone bright as she trotted through the grassy fields, her blond tail whipping behind her happily. Ever since she arrived from her basket, the little girl had thrived off discovery - every tree, every cloud, every flower captured her attention. Everyday there was something new to see, something different to witness, and the cream coated foal loved it.
Just because she didn't know where she was, didn't mean she was lost! Oh no! Familiar lands were back that way . . . somewhere . . . Bella was most certain all she had to do was turn around - or walk backwards - and she'd be home in a jiffy! Lost? Bella didn't know the definition of the word!
As the sun began it's descent, the little girl picked up her pace. The world opened up before her, the land beckoning her wild spirit and nature to run. Nickering, she turned her easy trot in to a faster paced canter. She didn't want to run . . . yet. Pale eyes bright, it took Bella a few trots before her eyes spotted something in the distance.
A black form, silhouetted by the setting sun - it was tall, regal, and . . . as she approached was much larger than she! Oooh. . . .it was a BIG ONE! The girl's sweet nature disposed of any instinctive shyness - curiosity and a natural love for others caused the ever inquisitive Bella to approach.
Whickering softly, the girl trotted up to the brown and black-maned Soquili. "Whatcha doing?" She asked, staring off in to the sun, hoping to catch a glimpse of whatever it was that enraptured the stranger.

The internal awkwardness that Tay seemed to have with some strange Soquili seemed to vanish the moment the mare realized that it was a little filly that had addressed her. Although the mare never tensed up on the outside, it only took one look at her eyes to know that she had relaxed quite a bit.
She shifted her gaze from the spectacle to the little cream colored filly with a grin. "I'm just watchin' the sky." She said with a small nod, her gaze flickering back as the sun dipped lower toward the horizon, chased by the ever darkening skies above it.
"It always looks better at sunset. Everything does." She added, her light ears pricking toward the scene. "And then night comes and it's a little bit scarier, but the stars make it beautiful too. And the moon." She nodded up at the sky, where the pale moon could be seen, already rising to greet the night and to cast its pale glow to the darkened world. Its light did little compared to that of the sun's but in Tay's eyes, it was the better of the two.
