Ati pranced about with a dead rabbit in his mouth, wandering into the den that he and Kyuu were currently calling their own during their wanderings. He stood over his sleeping brother and dropped the fish beside his head, grinning. Since they had grown up so much, he felt nothing but happiness that he had met Kyuu. So far as he was concerned, they were as much real brothers as they were to their original families. He was as happy as he could have been, really.
He leaned his head down beside his brother and blew lightly in his ear to wake him up, also giving off the fish smell from his breath to let him know that Ati had caught their breakfast.

Kyuukazan jolted awake and leapt to his feet, he barely managed to restrain a snarl. That was how it was every morning. Ati would do that weird ear thing and Kyuu would jolt up from his sleep. The darker male sighed and stretched out leasurly as he glanced about and saw a fish waiting for him. He smiled gently and nodded a thanks.
Even though Kyuu was perfectly capable of catching his own meal, he was just glad that Ati was strong enough to do it on his own. The dark male dug his snout into the fish and worked about eating around the trickly, little bones. Once he finished he trudged out of the little den and glanced around the surrounding area. Kyuu wondered what they would be doing today, but found himself content to go with the fow, and was one who was at a loss for words more often then not. Yes, Kyuu was the strong, silent type now adays. But then again, he showed the clear mold of this archtype long ago as a pup.

Ati followed after him, wagging his tail merrily, "So, Kyuu, where too today, do you think? We could keep following the river maybe. It's always good for food I've noticed. I wonder where it leads..." He looked thoughtful and then chuckled, "I bet its somewhere neat. We always find the coolest stuff."
Ati was always interested in whatever they found though. While Kyuu was the strong silent type, Ati was still zesty and playful. He had never quite gotten over having a good time. He did enjoy himself all the time, and Kyuu's quietness didn't ever seem to bother him.

Kyuukazan nodded thoughtfully. He was certain, though, that if they kep following the rier north, they'd be led into that supposidly "haunted" forest. Kyuu contemplated telling Ati that, and imagined Ati jumping with joying and dragging Kyuu to "disprove" or "prove" that it was haunted, or whatever...
"North, which is the direction we've been going, leads to a haunted forest I believe..." Kyuu glanced over his shoulder to see the others reaction. "We can go check it out if you like.. rumour is a few packs are aking roost there..." Kyuu knew that Ati was looking to join a pack, and as fun as that seemed, Kyuu wasn't sure what kind of pack he, himself, wanted to join.
A spiritual pack, a warrior pack, a pack full of rogues? He didn't know. All he knew was that he wished to be a hunter. But what kind of packs lay in wait in that forest?

"Really? LET'S GO!" Ati's interest peaked almost instantly as he practically ran in that direction. At times the playful wolf could be a little eccentric in that sense, "We shall go out and search on an epic jouney to find out whether or not this place is really haunted! That's so cool! I wonder what kind of wolves might live there!"
Would it be a frightening pack...? Or one of mystics and intregue. The very idea made Ati's heart race.

The darker male shurgged his great shoulders and slowly made to run after his brother. His husky build was that of a hunter, and he was agile as he darted between tree's after ati as they went deep into the heart of the forest. After a while, Kyuu slowered down and looked around. "The only thing that seems remotely spooky, is how dense the forest it, it blocks alot of the light." Kyuu said apathetically. At times he was really relaxed and calm, never one to jump for joy and start running around doing crazy things. Nope. That was Ati's job, and the calmer male really enjoyed that about the blue male.

Ati laughed and turned around, "Well I guess we'll just ahve to see for ourselves. Do you think that they'll be nice, or mean and try to chase us off? Who knows! It could be that we find a whole bunch of new friends... or maybe we'll get beat up!" He didn't sound even remotely concerned about that though. Probably because it was simply Ati's tendancy to believe that everything would be alright.
Truth be told, ever since he had met Kyuu, he did believe that nothing bad would happen to him. If he ever got into trouble, Kyuu would be there for him. As long as his brother was with him, the world could just try and end!

Kyuu nodded and glanced around. He had this sinking feeling that sooner or later they'd be spotted by other wolves and possibly attacked, though he wouldn't relate his fears to Ati, as he did not wish to upset his optomistic brother. "I just hope they are socialable so we may learn about them and possibly request to join their pack." He replied carefully, walking carefully in the dense woods as his ears were perked forward, listening for any signs of danger.

Ati grinned happily and nodded, "I'm sure that some of them will be! It will be exciting though. I've never seen a big pack before, ever! I wonder how many wolves there will be... It's all so exciting!" but then, with Ati, almost everything was an adventure.
So far as he was concerned, if something wasn't an adventure, it wasn't worth doing.

Kyuu jumped a bit and spun around quickly when the snap of a twig hit his sensative ears, He spread his legs out and lowered his muzzle to the ground, his pale eyes ever watchful for movement. "Ati, don't move for a moment..." He instructed calmly in his smooth tone. Even when there was threat of danger, Kyuu was clam and collected. The perfect guard, or hunter in the making.
