The day had started off a cool reminence of the summer the lands had so far been experiencing. The Wind Soquili of cream and blood hues stalked through the forest shades, his wings slightly drooped as the midday heat powered through the canopy above, dappling him green and brown. His glowing cyan and blue swirled eyes glanced around occassionally. He was quick, of course he was, he was a pure Wind, but when shocked, he often lost his calm in these cloying temperatures, and a Wind couldn't afford to, being as they were hollow-boned and really quite fragile in structure, due to their need to be light in order to fly. His wings, though tough, wouldn't stand being crashed into a tree, and so, the one known as Tawali was wary.
Since he and Ever Sacrifice's run from the wolves in the south, from the lake, he had been cautious of walking through the trees. He could have flown, and Ever had told him to, but he had wanted to ensure her safety, and had taken chase after her, though attempting to draw the wolves to him. That day had been the day he had given her his feathers, fresh plucked from his wings so he would forever know her whereabouts should they separate. Those feathers had lead him to an amazing discovery days before. Ever was pregnant with his foals. It had been amazing, seeing her round with foal, his foals. That was part of the reason he was also walking. When he flew, he tended to travel far and wide, as was his nature, and it would sometimes be weeks till he saw his lifemate again. Now, he stuck close to the mountains she called home, making sure he was close for the day she birthed. She had been tired of wandering with him, and was currently residing with her two-leg, so Tawali had taken the opportunity for a quick gallop around the fields.
On his way back now, Tawali was surprised that he was yet to run into another Soquili. He was generally alone, spending long hours just flying, but when he was on the ground, he did meet many. Yes, he wanted to return to Ever, lay by her side and listen to the new lives, talk with them, teach them to understand his strange accent before they arrived, but he was also interested in what was happening in the world of other Soquili. What was going on with those he had met long ago? Nicole? Bloodrider? Even Tally and Aeris! Yes... he was eluded by them now, but Ever was a constant he loved dearly. He had never expected to get a mate, not after his banishment, but Ever had proved him wrong again, and loved him dearly. What a joyous place his heart resided that day.

The sun hadn’t set into the lands too badly today, but for a stallion like Caelen it all seemed to be unbearably hot. The winter’s weren’t cool enough and the summers were decidedly overheated. The curly-headed stallion kept moving through the forest, not going deeper into the woods so much as just simply weaving his way in and out of trees to see where he ended up at. The minty green eyes just scanned the area once in awhile. Most others kept on edge, but finding enemies was harder for Caelen then just fighting them off. Indeed, people were one of the few things that he rarely disliked being with. Azariel had needed a day or two to herself to think about what was going on inside of her. Quite literally inside… He had only been too happy to oblige her.
A slow smile began to spread on Caelen’s lips as he thought of how he had stumbled upon his mate when she was in the middle of a temper tantrum. He also remembered the fighting that had ensued, then… more fighting.. And to top it off they had fought over his touching her. Even at that short of a meeting they had sparked together in a rather volatile way. Every time they saw each other something seemed to be going on, or the other was just in the mood to pick be picky and to fight. Only yesterday they had bellowed at each other for.. Oh he couldn’t really remember what that fight had been about, just that afterwards they had had to nap together. His energy was low from taking care of her, and her energy was nearly zapped from taking care of the little ones that were growing inside of her. Others chose to only be with their mates ever so often, but not Caelen. He was the sort that got happiness out of being around to bug the bejesus out of Az. Aye, she wouldn’t mind a’tall if he disappeared for a month. So that was why he didn’t.
The sound of another’s hoof beats began to echo into Caelen’s mind and he instantly rattled himself into a more alert state of mind. He wasn’t one to fight, but with babies on the way and a mare that needed him he had to be careful to come back in one piece. Not that every Soquili he ran into was going to be out for blood just… Better safe than sorry. Not too far ahead a cream-ish maybe stallion was headed his way. From the odd shape of the body Caelen guessed it to be a Wind with his wings drooping or just not caring if they drug a bit. Shaking out the messy curls that bounced around his head at all times, the stallion called out his greeting, “Oi! Who ye be and how ye be?” Better safe and friendly than sorry?

Tawali had been headed toward the outskirts of the wood, toward the river so he could travel upstream to Ever and his unborn foals when the shout first permeated his revierre. He glanced around, cyan and blue swirled eyes eyeing something green stop a little way away. It was clearly a stallion, and his pelt was definitely... green. Tawali would have said colourful, but to be honest, the stallion was only one colour, though many hues of it, so Tawali deemed it ill to name him anything other then green. The stallion had an odd accent, one that Tawali recognised slightly, as his own was tinted with something similar. He narrowed his eyes a little, lifting his wings slightly, placing them more firmly to his back.
"Meh name is Tawali, an' Ah mus' say Ah'm pretty good. What abou' yeself? What be ye name an' how's ye?" Tawali spoke quite loud, his accent weaving through the trees easily. He stepped closer to the stallion, noting his markings and his colourings, marvelling at how many hues you could fit on one stallion. The stallion's eyes were almost equal in colour to Tawali's, but because of the colourig of his face, they were much less prominant then the Wind's. All in all, he liked the look of the stallion, sturdy, and he looked trustworthy, if a bit cheeky. Whatever it was that Tawali saw in the green stallion's stature, he liked it. "This 'ere weather's'a lil' hot fo' meh likin's. What abou' ye's? Ye a fan o' the summer?"

Caelen kept his stance unmoving as he watched the cream stallion turn to look at him. The greens of his own pelt probably didn’t really set the other stallion at ease, as.. He did tend to blend in with most woods, forests, and sometimes meadows with uncanny simplicity. While thinking about his own looks Caelen tried not to let his vanity go to his head. Some of the other Soquilis he had seen had colors that didn’t go together in the least. At least if he was going to be one color it was all going to be one coherent and workable color. The easy flutter of wings distracted Caelen for a moment then he heard the stallion speak. Another with an accent? Only himself and Ignacia had had them that he knew of.
“I’m doin’ awright. Jest wishin’ ter be with my pretty lass, ye ken?” Whatever it was about the stallion that Cael recognized it made his accent thicken a bit. With others that didn’t have a clue what he was saying his time and energy was spent making sure to enunciate as best he could. With someone with an accent, Caelen felt it safe to at least attempt to talk as he was prone to. This stallion could easily be put into a slot as friend for Caelen. The accent didn’t make him a friend, it just made him more likely to share the same beliefs… Or at least he could hope so? Besides, the level-headed and testosterone-less meeting was a double benefit, “Oh aye, s’hot enough ter make Satan wish fer ice water.. An’ nay.. I like me winter time.”

Tawali smiled at the thinkened accent of the Soquili's speech. He liked it, easy flowing and natural. His own accent had a bit of everywhere in it, and even chuckled at the stallion's humour. He nodded amicably, and gazed up at the sky, the heat of the sun blasting his face and warming him. He closed his eyes a moment, blood red mane falling back from his face. He brought his mind back from its wanderings and settled back on the stallion before him, a smile to his features, body lines easy and relaxed.
"Ah know's wha' ye mean." Tawali chuckled easily and smirked. "S'too hot te go flyin' comf'tably." The sun had been dangerous up above the shades of the canopy. The sun was prone to burning his ears, and he had become quickly dehydated up there. "Ye pretty lass eh? Tha' where ye headed?" Tawali felt a more kindred feeling toward the other stallion. Was he had father or father-to-be, like Tawali? His smile broadened a litte more and he seemed to perk up a little. "Ye a father yet, oginalii?" Tawali tilted his head a little, interest piquing in his features. "An' wha' did ye say ye name was?"

Normally silence with other grated on Caelen’s nerves, whatever the reason just standing and being with someone either made his energy level go through the roof.. Or his boredom level.. Whatever the reason, Caelen knew it’d be alright just to stand and chew fat with this one. They understood each other already most likely? His own face lifted up to look through the cracks that the canopy of leaves provided. The noon sun was beginning to descend.. That meant it’d get a bit hotter before beginning to relax. Wait.. Were they thinking of and discussing the weather?
“I canna say that I know what flyin’s like, but if it’s anything’ like goin’ near ‘r through the damned deserts they’v got in these lands then aye… It’d be best ter stay outta the sky.” The mention of his “lass” made Caelen smile for a moment like a rather blathering idiot. “Oh aye, Azariel.. She’s a young ‘un an’ I’m afraid I might jest be too verile.” It was a touchy subject but he hadn’t gotten to tell anybody yet without worrying about a kick from Az yet… “Our first try out the gate an’ she’s carryin’. It’ll be around six ‘r less months if me math is good.” Did he forget to introduce himself? Och. “Call me Caelen.”

Tawali smiled genially at the stallion and nodded, silently congratulating Caelen, even though he doubted the stallion would see it. He seemed a little wary of mentioning his mate, which Tawali couldn't really hope to understand, as he and Ever had always been very open about their relationship together. He wasn't about to ask if it had been accidental, or unwanted, as the stallion seemed pleased.
"Ahhh, flyin' is amazin'. Ma mate is no' a Win', bu'h Ah don' care. Ah love 'er all the same an' Ah'll never replace 'er, even for another Win'. She stole ma heart long ago." He smiled and remembered back to his and Ever's first meeting. It had been amazing. "Me'n Ever 'ave been tryin' for a long time. Bu' we finally prevailed an' she's carryin'." He smiled. "She's lookin' so amazing'."

Caelen just stood there smiling a bit and relaxing. Azariel was the mare he adored more than anything in his life, and truth be told he felt there’d be little ones under foot before he knew what to do with them. He wished that they hadn’t had little ones their first go out the gate some days but on other days he couldn’t help but feeling like dancing and celebrating. Indeed, some sort of jig almost always seemed to be fitting. If she wasn’t watching!
It was reassuring to meet a wind that didn’t feel the need to be mated with another wind. Some over blown and overly pompous Winds wouldn’t have anything to do with a “grounded” or other interesting terms that they came up with. “Tis good ter hear, since I doubt yer mate would take kindly ter ye doin’ that ter her.” So it had taken that couple many many tries to have babies, “Weeell, me Az an’ I got wee ones on our first try.. Which has her a wee bit sour.” Caelen understood what the stallion meant by amazing, “Aye.. It’s hard ter not be proud o’ their puffed up bellies.”
