After flipping through the pages in the guild, I noticed we didn't have a bulletin to talk about local bands or artists we appreciate...or not so much..
This is my tricky way of finding out about new bands to listen to and avoid (because I is a music whore!)...
Bands I have heard of and love:
Floater (of course..haha)
Drumattica ( sweatdrop I know, I know...)
Ill Subliminal
Hindi Guns
Bands I like (as in "I-don't-love-but-can-live-with"):
Grynch
Feel free to list bands/artists, discuss their styles, mention newly released albums (or old), upcoming shows, etc. etc. You get the gist.

I don't keep track of local bands much, mostly because around here they're nothing but yelling. There's one I did like, and they all (or mostly, I'm not sure) graduated in '06.

I missed the Decemberists when they came to Eugene.. T-T Darn.
Oh wells, I'm going to the Queens of the Stone Age show (Their new album is funky).
I'm planning on either seeing Incubus or Modest Mouse (Preferably the latter) next month, but I'm not sure yet...

I'm a huge fan of the portland band 800 Octane.

I won't really use one style to describe them. They rock in my opinion. Fun stuff.

If theres any metal heads in here, Dusks Embrace from the meth capital of the world(Salem) is a really good band, Ceremonial Castings is from Battle Ground and the best American Black Metal band out there.

.....I still need to get the tickets. gonk I was at that show. I love the Decemberists. I've seen them live twelve times, both in Oregon and California. Homigawd, Colin Meloy... On a related note. Potato Famine. Totally went on a blind date with their drummer last night.
