Ren pulled Lucy out of her new carseat and stared at the mountainous pile of bags in the back seat. 'Jesus christ! This girl is a lot of work!' She swung the girl onto her hip as she slammed the door shut. "Do you like your blue dress sweetie?"
"Yes momma! It's very pr-pr-pretty!" The little girl flashed her mother a smile full of teeth.
"Oh you're just so cute!" She smiled and rubbed foreheads with the little girl as she giggled. They entered Home Depot through the glass doors and immediately both of their faces changed to a complete look of awe.
'It's so -'
'It's so -'
"BIG!" They squeled out simultaneously.
"K sweetie! We need paint and stencils for decorations, oh and shelves! We can't forget shelves or bookcases, can you help momma remember those things?"
"Sure!" Lucy began muttering "shelves-bookcases" over and over again.
Ren placed Lucy into the seat of a cart and started walking towards the paint section.

Cordain was laughing as he pushed one of several large Home Depot carts filled with building supplies, "I'm glad you found a hobby son...You didn't have to drag me along though to purchase supplies." with them were several men in black suits, they looked like body guards or secret service agents. They were pushing filled carts too.
"I know but it's more fun this way to make you not be all dark and gothy. You pull it off well enough in public anyway, being a dark elf and all." He had a clipboard and a sheet of graph paper with a long list of supplies.

Ren pushed the cart forward, while singing to Ren, she'd glance up every now and again to see if they were close to the paints yet. 'I think we're lost.' Ren looked to the left, and then the right, she frowned then went back to singing and looking at Lucy.
"Momma, this big place is scary!"
"It's ok sweetie, I know exactly where we and the exits are, so don't worry!" As Ren lied through her teeth she tried to retrace the route she had been taking. 'I think we should have taken the left at home electronics, rather than the right.'

There was the sound of carts crashing into each other at a corner and Hal glanced back as Cordain's cart had connected with Ren's. The white haired, crystal teen laughed, "Smooth one...I'm surprised you can do anything that requires reflexes."
Cordain narrowed his eyes at his son then laughed, "Ya got me there, I was being lazy, are you alright miss?" he asked, right before Halcyon echoed the same question.

Lucy's eyes bulged as her cart crashed into the man's. Ren grabbed onto her mothers shirt and pulled herself out of it.
"Momma!"
"Shhh, it's alright sweetie, it was an accident, momma shoulda been paying attention to where she was going." Ren glanced up at cordain and gave him a tired smile. She looked completely wiped out.
"Yeah, thankyou for asking, my daughter just doesn't like very loud noises." Lucy whimpered against her mother's breast and peered one eye out to look at the boy who had laughed at the man.
"I don't suppose you have any idea where the paint area is, do you?" Ren questioned the man.

Halcyon hands the list to Cordain, "You can find the rest on your own father." he moved the carts apart and pulled it around the Aisle, "Paint is back this way, I'll show you two. No more loud noises I hope."
He smiled widely at the two of them.

Ren's smile grew at what Halcyon had said," Oh thankyou! Lucy here was starting to get a little worried."
"Momma!" Lucy squeaked out, "was not!" Momma fre-frekd-freaked!" Lucy stuttered over the pronunciation of the new word, and stared indignantly at her mother.
"Oh, I'm Ren by the way."Ren took the cart and followed him.

Halcyon laughed lightly, "Well...I'm Halcyon...My father back there is Cordain Vinataro, before you even ask yes...THE cordain vinataro of the Vinataro Hotel chains..." he looked a little bored with the explination, something he's said too many times.
He stopped at an inner section and looked at the hanging signs, "Paint is this way." he turns and starts walking down the main road 'tween the aisles.

'Wow, someone else who's completely loaded.' Ren grimaced as she walked down the aisles behind him, following him to the paint section.
Lucy climbed down over the cart in order to walk behind halcyon. She stared at his hair, and the different crystals along his body. Her face was filled with wonder as she saw the flourescent light hit his hair.'He's really pretty!'

Lucy wasn't the only person watching Halcyon, a lot of people were staring, fascinated by him. It didn't help that today he had a tank top on and made it apparent that he was very fit. He stopped as he looked at a directory and smiled, "Alright...here we are!" he turned down an aisle, a third of the way in, paint started. He turned to smile at Ren and Lucy, "If you need anymore help I could get one of the floor assistants for you."

Ren gasped at the amount of different colors, and then stared in horror at her daughter. Ren squealed at the amount of different blues and greens that were in there. She jumped up and down and danced with glee.
"Thankyou mister Hal-halci-Halcyon!" Lucy ran up and wrapped her arms happily around his leg, then ran to the black paint and pointed. "Momma! Big stripes Black! Please?" Ren sighed and walked after her daughter, "thankyou very much, I ahve a feeling we might need a few extra carts though. I have the sudden urge to paint a few more rooms than was planned on." Lucy reached down and picked up the can of black and put it into her cart. "K, sweetie, now what color blue and white do you want?"
Lucy ran around looking at the amounts of different colors. She ran to pick up a metallic blue can. She was doing pretty well, she ahd gotten the can almost the complete way off teh shelf, but as she pulled it off, the can fell to the ground, pulling ehr with it. There was an explosion of blue, and when Ren went to her daughter, she came upon her licking the blood off of her split lip and cut hand.
Lucy started to fuss over the little girl's hand, even though it didn't appear that it hurt her.

Halcyon grabbed one of the emergency phones and called a clean-up. No one asked why when the attendants came they saw the mess and went right to cleaning up the blue paint. One of them chiding Ren for letting her daughter pull paint off the shelf.
Halcyon walked up and kneeled down before Lucy, gently wrapping a bandage around her cut hand, "We don't want that getting infected..." he then smiled up at Lucy, "There's a bathroom around the corner if you want to get washed up, I'll get you another cart in the mean time."
Elsewhere...
Cordain was in the area with all the lights, "...what kind of mad design is this...Damnit Hal, you're the one that knows the store layout!" Cordain was lost.

"It's ok! just lemme lick it away teh yummy stuff and the it'll be all gone!" Lucy smiled up to him as her mother refrained from laughing at the 4'3" bald little man who was yelling at her. He had stepped into the pool of paint and he didn't realize it yet, plus her little girl had blue paint all over her legs and feet. The little girl finished licking her lip and then began to lick the cut on her hand. "I guess paint has to go byebye though. Momma! I'm gonna go to the bathroom. Don't laugh at the funny man, k?"
Lucy trotted off, licking the few remaining droplets of blood off her hand as she turned the corner to the bathroom. 'I wonder where his papa is?' She wondered as she entered the bathroom and proceeded to clean herself off.

Hal was back before Lucy was with an extra cart, by that point the attendants had cleaned up the mess and moved on, giving Ren another warning about letting her child play with the paint.
"If you need help with the painting I'd be happy to help...I bet I could probably get my girlfriend to come help...possibly she might be busy...Anyway, I am sure I could get more help too." He said to Ren.

"Oh, are you kidding me?! I would absolutely love that! I hate taking free labor work though, so maybe in return I'll feed you and if anyone else comes them? I have a pretty big house, and right now let's see I 'm thinking of doing..." she looked up to the cieling and slowly let 5 fingers pop up, "5 rooms I think."'Oh that reminds me! I ahve to get shelves and bookcases!'
Lucy skipped around teh corner and overheard her motehr speaking to Halcyon, she ran over to him and grabbed his dangling hand, "Halcyon come paint with us! Halcyon, please help Lucy get paint? Lucy doesn't want momma to get yelled at again." A sad look appeared on the child's face as she peered up to the older boy.
