(Time Frame: Lunar Festival, Child)
The little lunar kyn wobbled about on it's weak legs, staggering towards a light in the distance. The room it was in was dark, yet warm. But this darkness was impenetrable- And that was scary to the young kyn.
Tsukikaijuu crept along, slowly, but surely. The light was getting brighter and closer.
Finally, he slid a paw into the light of the night, peering around with his eyes. Everything looked blurry and scary-
"Little kyn, you're still supposed to be sleeping."
Tsukikaijuu's head swiveled, peering at the...whatever it was. What had it called itself? A human. And those shiny things on his head, those were...glasses? But the kyn said nothing, instead turned to look out on whatever that was. Green stuff.
The male human took a few steps forward, peering out over the grassland. "See that waving green stuff? It's called grass. Gr-ah-ss." He repeated, slowly. "The blue above the grass is called Sky. Sk-ah-ee. The large white object in the sky is called the-"
He was cut off abruptly by a sound. This sound he had never heard before in his life, beautiful, yet odd. What was that? Suddenly the moon brightened, catching the bespectacled human's eye. Then something appeared to fall to the ground, falling from the moon.
Tsukikaijuu whimpered, uttering one of the few human words he knew so far.
"Scah-ree."
"Go back to bed, Tsuki. You're tired, right?"
Bed- Comfortable place, inside darkness. Human should be obeyed. Tsukikaijuu crawled back into the dark, but instead, fire was there. And there was bed- A patch of warm sand, next to fire. Tsuki crept back into the sand, covering his face with his tail.
The human peered out over the area outside of Tsukikaijuu's den, shivering. What was that? After several moments, he turned and returned into the cave. Whatever it was, it had sounded...horrifying. Something to be avoided, as a potential danger.
So he stayed, watching the young lunar kyn sleep. Warmth seeped into his bones, making him feel sleepy himself. After many moments of alternating anxiety and awe over what he had witnessed, the human fell into sleep.

(Time Frame: Lunar Festival, Adult)
That howl!
That dratted howl! Tsukikaijuu could feel it's presence as though it was a kyn of its own. He wanted to find it, whatever it was. The young lunar kyn wasn't even sure why. He just did.
But that human...! Tsukikaijuu's paws in the steady rhythm that he now knew was called pacing. The bespectacled human sat some distance away from the pacing kyn, his back leaning against the cave's wall. For a while, the human thought he would pace a dent in the floor, but said nothing. When Tsuki was like this...
"Come with me."
"I already told you, no."
"Why? Are you afraid?"
"No. It's suicidal, Tsukikaijuu."
The lunar kyn looked over his shoulder at the human, his eyes demanding an explaination.
"You'll kill yourself in the process.”
"If it starts looking bad, we'll leave."
"It doesn't work like that."
"Maybe dying would be better than rotting here forever.
The human tilted his head, his glasses catching the reflection of the moon. Tsukikaijuu could no longer see his eyes. "Is that so? I'd much rather live a long life, thank you." Something about the way he said it simply set Tsukikaijuu off.
Maybe it was the fact that he had been denying the kyn adventure for the past few days. Maybe it was something else. But now Tsukikaijuu had taken enough of his human's idiocy (his word of the day). He turned towards the spectacled human, snarling. "Fine. I'll offer you two options. One, you can come willingly. Two, I can knock you out and drag you with me."
The human put on the most annoying look he could. The one where the edges of his mouth curved upwards, similar to a smile, but with an air of 'I'm so much better than you!' about it. Tsukikaijuu didn't know what it was called- Only that he hated it.
"You wouldn't dare."
"Try me.."
The spectacled human's ‘smile’ widened as he stood, stretching leisurely. Tsukikaijuu snarled at him. His glasses became clear again as he pushed them up the bridge of his muzzle, revealing his dark eyes.
All at once, the lunar kyn burst into motion. He lunged at the human, swiping a paw at the side of his head. Not knowing how much the human could take, he made sure to not hit him too hard. The human's eyes widened as he tried to take a step back, but was too slow to dodge the blow.
He bent over, falling to his knees, the glasses falling off his head in the process. Both of his long, slender paws reached towards the side of his head that had been hit. He tilted his head down, looking away from the kyn's face. "Come on." He showed no sign of hearing the kyn.
Tsukikaijuu knew he hadn't died, because he could hear the human breathing. In fact, he was breathing in short, irregular gasps. The kyn had never heard such an odd noise before in his (rather short) life. "I didn't hit you that hard. Are you dying?" He poked the human in the head with his nose, making sure to stay away from the hit-spot.
The human continued to gasp, and said nothing.
Confused and not knowing what to do, the kyn simply sat down and listened to the human. Now that he thought about it, the short breaths probably wasn't a good thing. "I knew humans were fragile, because they always get beat up in the stories you tell me...but I didn't think you were that weak."
He was surprised, and even relieved, to hear a reply. "Don't ever..." the human gasped, "do that again." The human looked up, swiping a paw over his face gently. Tsukikaijuu was surprised to see water on his muzzle.
"Hey, I didn't know you could make water."
The human gave him a look that Tsukikaijuu could identify as a snarl, even though it was rather weak. Humans simply didn't have the teeth to give a kyn a menacing snarl. "They're called tears. Humans produce them from their eyes when they're sad, mad, or hurt."
Sad, mad, or hurt.
"But, how do you tell which one the human that is making tears is feeling?"
Tsukikaijuu's human looked away, gasping again. "You just do. Look at what happened before they started crying. Crying is what happens when a human makes tears."
Think, think…! What happened that would make him cry?
Why would he be sad? Or mad, really. And surely I didn’t hit him that hard…Or maybe humans are that fragile?
“Are you…are you hurt?”
The human gasped, but this time it seemed more controlled, and a bit more gentle. “Don’t…do that again. We humans aren’t as strong as kyn like you.” His paws left the spot. One reached for the glasses, while the other brushed across his face, knocking the tears away.
A few seconds later, the human was standing, pushing his glasses up his muzzle as though nothing had happened. For a few moments his paw lingered over his face. He took a deep breath, then exhaled it. His paws then fell back to his sides.
“I’m sorry.”
“Just don’t do it again.”
Tsukikaijuu looked down at his own paws, wondering how he could have hurt his human so easily. But two questions kept nagging at him.
“Human?”
While Tsukikaijuu hadn’t been watching, he had turned and was starting to enter the cave again. The human turned his head, looking at the kyn over his shoulder. “Eh?”
“Why were you gasping so…”
“Raggedly? That is called sobbing. It’s something humans do when they cry.” He turned and began to walk into the cave.
“W-wait!? Why are you going back in the cave?”
The human acted as though he hadn’t heard him, and continued walking.
The kyn lunged forward, maneuvering in front of him. “Don’t make me hurt you, human.” After what happened, would I really do that again?
His eyes widened, but otherwise he remained in control of his emotions. The human tried to step around the kyn, but Tsukikaijuu moved back in his way.
“Come on. Lets just look around the cave, if nothing else…!”
The human’s eyes narrowed in annoyance. “Do we have to?”
“If you want me to leave you alone for any moment of the day, yes.”
The human muttered something under his breath that Tsukikaijuu didn’t understand, before turning and snarling at the forest outside. “…fine.”
Tsukikaijuu couldn’t help the grin that came on his face. “Finally!”

The Missing Moon, and Tsukikaijuu's Discovery of the Kyn Gathering
"I'm telling you, there's nothing out here."
The lunar kyn ignored his human companion, ducking his nose to the ground in search of a scent. Tsukikaijuu appeared to be completely ignoring everything except for one thing, trying to find a scent.
The human snarled lightly, pushing the glasses that were sliding down his nose back up. "Come on, you've been looking forever."
No reply came for many moments, until, finally, the grey kyn lifted his head. "If you don't want to stay, just go back to the cave. I'll come back when I'm ready." He then promptly stuck his nose to the earth again, and began to walk in the direction he recognized as north-east.
"Please, don't. Come back!" Tsuki heard the human's desperate call from over his shoulder, but he continued walking at his own pace. "Don't do this. As much as I hate to admit it, I might be a bit...attached. Don't leave me here!" The human crept forward, forcing the foliage of the forest apart. But the kyn seemed to have disappeared, and there was no reply.
Tsukikaijuu continued walking. No scents came to him but that of earth, yet he felt compelled to continue walking in this direction, as though if he walked far enough, his questions would be answered.
The time seemed to stretch into years, but still the kyn walked. He had to find out, he had to learn. A question he didn't even know the words to describe hung over his every thought. The forest began to thin, and soon he was surrounded by nothing but grass and...
Other kyns.
In front of him were five kyn- One gargoyle, one european, two lunars, and one...Something. His leg was had an odd shine, and didn't seem to be anything that Tsuki had ever seen before. Somehow it reminded him of his human's glasses.
His human- How far away was he now? He knew he should feel guilty, yet didn't. Why was that? Was it because they had fought, or was it because, at last, his unspeakable question would be answered?

Under the Eyes of the Monstrous Moon, Liberty finds her home, (Part One)
'A man without purpose is without life.'
Birds took flight, startled by a sudden scream that tore through-out the forest, but then roosted again when they realized the source of the agonized wail was from only a small, curled-up human lying in the middle of the forest, shaking.
Tsuki is gone. I've driven him away...like everyone else...!
The man sobbed, curling into himself tighter in his grief. I should have known...I should have known that if I didn't go with him, he would leave without me. Why was I so stupid? Why?!
He lay there for what seemed like hours to the grief-stricken man, unmoving in the darkness. Clouds covered the moon over-head, so the forest was almost pitch-black; Like the man felt right now.
Tsukikaijuu had always been rather pure, never meaning to hurt anyone, had he? He had been forceful at times, but never had he intended to hurt. Tsuki was light- His rider was dark. Without his light, the human felt no reason to get up and move.
He knew it was pointless. Tsuki was much too fast for him to catch on foot. So the man lay there, motionless, staring straight ahead. In the shrubs, he thought he could see something white there, but he knew it couldn't be Tsuki.
Forever he lay there. He had lain there since sunfall, and now some birds were beginning to stir, trying to wake up before the sun rose. Now his tears had stopped, and now he was no longer curled into a ball as he had been before- He was simply lying on his side, his tear-stained face blank. His once sharp, intelligent dark grey eyes were dull and almost cloudy with indifference twards his life.
He had driven his reason to live away, without even realizing how important Tsuki was to him. And now he was left with nothing, nothing but this empty hole inside of him where his heart should have been.
'You never realize how important something is until it is gone.'

Under the Eyes of the Monstrous Moon, Liberty finds her home. (Part Two)
We live in darkness, and see only darkness, That is, until you remember to turn on the light.
Above his head, the man knew the clouds were thinning, light slowly beginning to peer through the clouds. The moon was slowly disappearing behind the tree tops, monstrously huge in its fading moments. On the other side came the sun, bold and golden, slowly rising to her throne atop the sky.
But in its final moments, the moon shone her precious silver light upon the clearing that the man lay in, illuminating the area briefly before it was plunged into darkness again. The human couldn’t help but notice the odd something lying in the bush nearby.
But he felt tired, broken. For now, there was no point in moving. His tear-stained face was covered in the darkness that was slowly breaking into the dawn’s early light, but even that light could not lighten the man’s heart.
His light had since wandered away through the bushes, following an invisible path that his bonded could not follow.
There is no point in staying here any longer. The man managed to force himself, wobbling, to his feet. He seemed apathic, almost as though he was dead to the waking world around him, his dark eyes clouded and dull.
Slowly the man forced himself to take a step forward, then another. He knew not where his Tsuki’s den was at this point, but hoped that he was going in the correct direction. Five steps, six steps, seven steps… He stopped, his glasses shimmering in the growing light. The source of that glimmer was…!?
But he was unable to form another coherent thought- To his left was an egg.
It had some of the most peculiar markings that the man had seen: It was almost solid white, except for red and blue stripes crossing over it. The egg was in the form of the crescent moon, designating it as a lunar kyn. Like Tsukikaijuu.
The hole in the human’s chest ached. But without a human, would this little kyn survive once it hatched? Or would he make another mistake, hurting himself or the little kyn? For a moment he wished he was free, liberated of this pain. But he knew that it would never go away.
The man stooped over, and then picked up the egg. Surely a horrible life is better than no life at all?
Several hours later, at almost midday, the egg was lying in a sandy pit in a well shaded cave. He did not know how he had made his way home, but he had. The spectacled human peered at the egg, and then turned to the entrance of the cave. His eyes stared out into the day, beyond the forest, beyond even the earth, and there was his precious Tsuki.
Now the hole in his heart seemed to flare and catch fire. Why, why did you leave me here by myself? You just couldn’t listen, could you? No…Don’t listen to the stupid, two-legged human. I was right in the end, though, wasn’t I? Now…you might be gone forever.
But even as these bitter thoughts ran through his head, tears of sadness filled his eyes at the thought of the silver lunar kyn who may never come home.
Give one, take one. Although you lose one and gain another lover, pet, or whatever, however, You never lose the pain you gain.

Liberty is born, and the Monstrous Moon is still missing!
I'm searching, always... I'll continue searching, always... For things with no appearance and Things that will never take shape.
My e-mails from you, Each of the letters is precious now. I took you for granted. I understand that now.
Your shadow, with my eyes I can't see it, but I closed my eyes - your lingering scent, and all my memories...
For days the grieving human watched the egg, abandoning all else in favor of making sure it survived. Over the days the man began to become a bit thinner, a bit more rough-around-the-edges. But who was there to care? He was the only one who was there.
Dear Tsuki was still gone, and over the days he began to feel that the Lunar Kyn would never return. The hole in his chest seemed to fester and grow larger with every passing hour. The human tried to forget, but the more he tried to forget, the more that hole began to hurt.
Why had that damn Kyn left him here, by himself? Didn't he know that Humans weren't as strong mentally or physically? It's almost as though that monster didn't care.
For those days, he simply sat next to the egg, watching it. He did not search for Tsukikaijuu, for he knew it was hopeless. Even if the human did find him, how would he ever convince the stubborn a** Kyn to come home?
The bespectacled human stared at the egg, lost in his thoughts. Suddenly he heard a crack, snapping him back to reality. The man's palms grew clammy in fear. Would he be able to take care of this one? Better than Tsuki? Raise him or her to be a...
His thoughts stopped. A little baby Kyn was peering at him, her eyes a stunning blue. It wiggled from the egg, kicking what was left away with her red stripped hind legs. It squeaked at the human, wobbling over to him on her unstable legs.
He stared at the little Kyn in shock, his eyes wide and mouth slightly ajar. By now, it was surely bonded. He prayed to whatever god out there that this one would turn out different, happy. Not like the hurtful moon.
Perhaps this little one will be my salvation...my Liberty from the pain of Tsuki's leaving. It was from that moment on that the man called the little one Liberty.
He quickly hurried to obtain some food for the little one, praying she would stay in the safe, sandy room that served as a bed for the human and Tsu-
The man derailed that thought, catching himself. The hole in his heart seemed to tear further at this point, and he couldn't help the blurriness that took over the bottom of his vision. Farther back in the cave was a room, very deep underground. So deep that it was constantly cool- So cool that it could contain meat for a decent amount of time. Not to the extent of an iced room, but the man took what he could get.
He snatched up a decent-sized squirrel- His heart twinged again as he remembered it had been hunted by Tsuki- and jogged back to the little Kyn. Thank the gods, she was still trying to wobble around. Being just out of the egg, Liberty was unable to do much but turn her head to look at the...thing with her wide, innocent eyes. What was that? It didn't look like her.
But she did recognize something- A smell. A very pleasant smell. She didn't know what it was, or why she had to have it. Only that she needed it, and needed it desperately.
Liberty let out a high-pitched whine at the thing, trying her best to plead for the stuff. It obliged immediately, depositing the good-smelling thing in front of her. It then walked away, backing against the grey, solid thing. What was that called?
But no matter. Liberty dug into the fluffy thing, tasting meat. Ooooh, that's good stuff. But then, soon, it was gone. Where did it go? Had she eaten it all already?
The little Kyn yawned, and began wobbling towards a place near the smoldering, dead fire. The human rekindled it, but did not touch the Kyn- He simply watched her, until she flopped down beside the fire, set her head on her paws, and drifted away to sleep.
Just as Tsuki had, all those months ago. Tears ran down the human's face again, but no-one was there awake to see them. He looked out into the dying light coming from outside, knowing the moon would soon rise into the sky again, as she always did.
For a moment, in the distance, he thought he heard a mournful howl. But then he shook his head, and was once again engulfed by silence and the crackling of the fire.
More important than choosing your path, how will you live on that path? It's not just what's right in front of you, look into the distant future. What are you living for, who are you living for?
(First Lyrics- Regret by Kimeru. Second Lyrics- Until the Wind Stops by Kimeru.)

(From: The True Kyn.) This is it.
The lunar's upper lip twitched, but he did not snarl. There was no point in him staying any longer- Nothing awaited him here. He gave one last, bitter look to each of the flying Kyn in turn, eyes narrowed, before he pulled himself into a trot and began to meander away in the direction that he had come.
He was pissed- There was no way around it. His instincts had told him to attack for the simple fact that he could. But his reasoning had managed to hold, for he realized that fighting would have no effect on anything except for spilling blood needlessly.
Slowly trees began to grow around his running form, and soon the forest became thicker and thicker. As he ran, he thought. He thought about whether he would help send other Kyn to a life of luxury while he stayed behind, never getting to see this wondrous place known as the Black Temple.
But still...the story of the Mother-Kyn and the Man-Child lingered in the back of his mind. To not help would practically be murder- Tsuki didn't want that.
But he wanted an adventure. An adventure like the others, the flying Kyn. But now adventure was out of his reach.
The lunar slowed to a walk as he reached that dreaded place. He peered up at the foreboding cave entrance, dark eyes narrow. He pricked his ears, listening for sound. Had the human left already?
But what he heard did not please him at all. "Human." "Hwah-mahn?" A little, high-pitched voice squeaked.Tsuki had been replaced already. Instinctively he growled, and suddenly the high-pitched voice was silent. Through the entrance of the cave appeared a little baby Kyn, her blue eyes peering at the larger in wonder. He snarled at the little one, and then took off into the forest. He had decided now: The Kyn would tell others about the True Kyn's desperate call for flying Kyn. He would hate every moment of it, but murder was simply out of the question.
But he simply couldn't face that damn human. He had adopted another Kyn in his place, without even waiting a day to see if he would return. Tsuki was now running as fast as he could, faster, faster. He ran on for what seemed like forever, not knowing where he would end up.
He honestly didn't care.

Hwah-mahn We wonder so much about what we do not know, That we don’t notice the beauty of what we do know.
It was only a day before the little lunar Kyn was up on her paws, walking around the cave, sticking her nose into everything with her innocent curiosity. Tsuki had never been so inquisitive- In fact, he had been rather fearful of everything. The human hawked over her, watching her without a moment of rest except for when she was resting. And even then the sleep that took over him was short and sometimes fitful.
Constantly an anxiety clawed at his chest. Will I be able to take care of her? Will she be happy with me? Yet as the time passed the anxiety slowly began to recede. In its place settled…nothing. Not depression, nor happiness, but just nothing.
Liberty was meandering around the cave, still unknowing of the human language. She stayed quite far away from the fire, fearing the sudden crackling of it, and preferred the small lake in the cave behind the bed-cave. She loved the water, swimming in it, swirling around gracefully. As she swam, she thought. She wondered what the pink thing was, besides the supplier of fuzzy food-stuffs.
The little lunar crawled out of the pond, having taken a small swim. Sure enough, there was the pink thing. She shook herself, ridding herself of the cool drink-stuff. Liberty then crept over to the pink thing, hunkered low, and sniffed the thing’s cold, black paw. It murmured something that Liberty did not comprehend.
In the Kyn language, she squeaked, “What are you?” It seemed to somehow understand, pointed at himself, and said, “Human”, slowly, as though expecting Liberty to repeat it back.
“Hwah-mahn?” She repeated, the sounds feeling odd on her tongue. The human’s mouth drew back and his eyes closed. Liberty did not know what this meant, but she knew one thing: It was good. The human was good, and the draw-back-eye-close gesture was good too.
Liberty temporarily lost interest in the human, her attention caught by something outside.
The human followed her eyes, peering outside fearfully. He thought he saw a flash of silver disappear into the undergrowth, but after only a moment, his fears were quelled as a bird flew up into the sky. The silver must have been an illusion, he told himself. One part of him was relieved- The other part, sad. But his face remained blank, showing no emotion.
Liberty was now sniffing the cave entrance, looking around for the source of the movement and noise, but there was nothing to be seen. She lifted her head from the ground, peering up into the tall brown and green thing. She heard the human speak again.
The man pointed at the tall brown and green thing and said, “Tree.”
“Twee?”
“Tree.”
“Tree!” The little Kyn squeaked, imitating the human perfectly.
For many moments, human and Kyn sat there and peered at the tree, watching it silently. A soft wind blew through the leaves, bringing a soft whisper to the forest. For a moment, the man thought that the whisper spoke with Tsuki’s voice, but then the wind stopped, and silence took back over the forest.
Even the moon was missing from the dark and dreary night, But on that night, A light was born.
(I'll do something less depressing, I promise. xd )

(..As if I could ever write something that wasn't depressing.)
Black Moon
Swallowed by ever-circling memories, Inside my eyes, the image of you passing me by flickers. In order to make amends for all the things I'm short of, I searched, barefoot, like this...
On that day, controlled by the enchanting smile you gave me, I fell in love... Your feelings, which wax and wane like the moon, aren't visible to me.
The man had tried to forget, but his memories simply would not leave his exhausted mind alone. With every day that passed, he felt as though his life was literally being drained from his body.
Now Liberty was large enough to hunt on her own, yet still not an adult. She was growing up, and quickly, the bespectacled man realized, but he was no longer able to watch her progress.
For a few days now, the man had taken ill and been bed-ridden. When Liberty wasn't hunting for her sake or trying her best to take care of the sickened human, she watched over him silently, not knowing how to express herself in a way he would understand. With each day, she noticed, the man grew paler and lost more of himself.
The days turned into a week, and then two. The human's condition did not improve. Liberty now believed that she knew the ailment that plagued her beloved human: An ailing heart. That day, when she had seen the silver Lunar Kyn that she had never been able to describe to her human...
She had always believed her human was looking for something. Was that what he was looking for? Another Kyn, a Kyn that he had cared for previously?
In the Kyn language, she begged him to tell her what was wrong. But the human did not understand. All that he could get out of her message was that she was worried for him. He would then stroke her ears and whisper things to her that she did not understand.
A wall was between them- A wall of communication. Or lack thereof.
One night, Liberty sat by her human's side as she always did, peering out into the darkness. She did not know what the human called it, but she knew what she called it: Danger. She refused to go out into that darkness, afraid of what may await her.
But another fear was also nagging her- The fear for her human's life. Now, he was lying on his side, asleep. His life-movements were shallow and slow, and his face was covered in water.
Again, Liberty whined at him in the Kyn language, "Beloved human, please! Please tell me what I can do!" But no reply came. The man did not stir.
She then turned her blue eyes away from him and looked back out into the darkness that seemed to perfectly mirror the lack of hope that engulfed her heart.
Engraved in my heart are the mistakes I don't want to repeat. However I want to forget, they won't be forgotten. The pain of my heart won't disappear...

The strange kyn...Who was he?
Liberty looked out of the entrance of her den, tail swishing around. There had been no sign of the life-saving, serpentine-like Kyn. Her human, still a bit ill as he was, had tried to explain to her what that other Kyn was. But he didn't know her language, nor did she know his.
But even though she could not explain the creature, nor his familiar or his powers, she still felt as though the sun was shining every day. Each day the large, frail human would stir in his nest of soft stuff, lift his head and look around.
Today, however, even more of his strength had returned. Today, he stood by the entrance of the cave, looking out over the forest with his young Lunar by his side.
