In our planet, water, fire, earth, and air bending were completely new things. A step in evolution, the new generation of human beings are born into this world, and are capable of controling elements. To prevent anything from going wrong, to protect the normal humans, they created laws. The laws restricted some of the benders from their abilities. Benders thought the new rule was too harsh. Some laws were taken away, and the humans got angry. They were afraid of the benders, they didn't want to be harmed, or want the world taken over by them. So a new leader came into play. He outlawed bending altogether. Anyone that was a bender was put under completely restricting laws.
If you are a bender, you are not allowed to bend.
If you are cought bending then you shall be killed on sight, or put inside special facilities.
If you have a child that is caught bending they will be taken away, branded of what ability they have, and put inside homes.
These laws were completely unfair, total chaos was unleashed. Humans are fighting against benders, and both sides have suffered. Monuments have been destroyed. Grand citites are gone, and families have turned against each other. There are small refuges for benders to live in, where they can use their abilities without the glare of the government finding them. But it isn't enough, humans are discovering ways to destroy benders from the inside. Some humans are using biological warfare, others are using total war methods. An avatar is much needed to help us, but he/she is nowhere to be found. All hope is completely lost. What will come of this mess?
Needed:
Fire Benders
Water Benders
Air Benders
Earth Benders
HUMANS (they are needed...even if they can't do anything fun, and if you do choose to be human then say if you are for or against bending.)
Human politicians are also needed, some are for and against bending.

Diana stood in front of a television store. She was watching the latest announcement from the new president that was elected. He was reading out the new laws for his audience. When he finished there was a roar of applause. Diana sighed heavily, and walked away. She was one of the outlawed benders. Not allowed to use her ability, even though she longed for it. She had run away from one of the homes she was put in. Her brand of air could be seen, if she wasn't wearing her jacket. She saw an old skyscraper area that was nothing but ruble now. Turning right around the corner she saw a riot going on, but she merely ignored it. It wasn't going to end up pretty, that was for sure. She hung her head low so no one would recognize her. The police
had new systems that could tell who was wanted and who should have the death penalty. Down a few more blocks she walked inside her favorite bar, The Viaduct Tavern. She plopped herself down on a stool, and the bartender came up to her. "What can I get you Diana?"
"A nice cold beer would be nice."
"Haha, good one. Now what can I really get you?" Diana was underage, she was 17, not even close.
"Come on Bob, just one won't hurt."
"You kow the rules. I'll give a free soda, will that help?"
"Fine..." He left and she stared at the television, he was on again. "Our scientists have found that a certain trait inside blood can identify the benders and their abilities. From this day forward, every civilian will take a blood test in one of our centers, if you are a bender, you will be branded on the spot. Bob got back with a coke, "Change the channel Bob, tv depresses me." He did it, and went on doing whatever bartenders do. Diana drank her coke and heard some drunk idiot in the background.
"Finally those freaks get what they deserve. Heck, I'll even help inforce(sp) that rule." His buddies started laughing around him. "Ignorant idiot." She stared at her reflection on the glass table. Her short boy looking hair was a mess, and she looked as if she hasn't slept in days. She was tall for her age, and didn't eat much. Her long gone blue eyes were now a dull gray, and she didn't really care. She had a bad feeling about today.

Kakuri didn't watch, she knew what was happening, that was why she had retreated to the forest.
She had to get away from town so they would not be able to take her captive.
Reaching down into a nearby stream she scooped up some water and placed it on her arm.
She knew it wouldn't heal the burn, but at least it would soothe it some.
People could be so cruel when it came to things they just didn't understand.
Since she was an Earth Bender she was considered a threat, though that was just not true.
Now she was banned from using her powers.
She knew should could have still lived in her home just as long as she did not bend, but she couldn't.
She couldn't take the names they called her.
So now she just dwelt in the forest where she could bend to herself and live peacefully.

bio:for as long as he live he has know naught of his parent the only thing he knew was he had the gift to move fire at will...each day he practiced it in secrect as to not get caught...but one day he saved a guy with his fire bending and because of that the guy he saved told the officials and was forced to flee he grew his hair longer and dyed it black and white as know one knew who he was.Strolling through the busseling of the people who hated the bends of which he was one hoping no one would recognize the features of his face despite the change of outfit and his hair as well. As he was walking he noticed a few soldier holding what looked like a scroll that held descriptions of certain benders who are running free in the town and are wanted fugitives. As the soldiers walked towards him he noticed, even though it was brief, on the scroll it was opened to his name, Thorn, at the moment he saw that he tried to decide weather to run or stay hoping beyond hope that they would not suspect him with his disgiuse. he then noticed that one of the soldiers were hiding shackles behind his back and at that he ran not knowing were to go just any were to lose the soldiers tracking him down. He ran down a few allies trying to escape them, when he dove into a bar before they noticed him go in, slamming the door behind him not noticing even though he came barging in the only one staring at him was the bartender. "if it would be no burden to you i would like to hide here as those fools who call them selve soldiers mistoke me for a bender and tryed to shackle me"

A few of the customers gave him an angry look and stood up at what he said. Diana knew very well that you don't insult the soldiers around these parts. "What he means is he just wants a drink from a hard day. Isn't that right?" She was hinting him to shut up and down.

thorn looks around at the angery customers "uh yah thats right i need a drink" he goes over and sits on one of the stools "what do you have to drink here?"

"Anything you feel like drinking, so long as you're the right age. And if you aren't water, milk, juice, and soda." Bob served another customer his drink. Diana turns towards Thorn. "Nothing gets by him, my name's Diana, whats yours?" She puts out her hand.

"the names thorn pleased to meet yah" he holds out one of his hands to shake, with a glove on it partially off, reveling the brand of a fire bender. when he noticed it he quickly pulled on the glove hoping you or anyone else in the bar had noticed it.

Diana noticed but decided to nod it off. Might as well help him out.. She smiled and faced forward again. "So what brings you to the city...Thorn?"

"i was living outside town in a village......till some soldiers came and burned it down trying to flush out some of the benders their" He turned to the bartender and asked for a soda "Now i just roam the city, while at night im forced to sleep in the woods"
