Soon after Tarsonis seceded, Hyta joined their sister planet. The necessity for a shipyard quickly arose, and Tarsonis Engineering Corps was the shipyard built in orbit over Hyta by the Tarsonian Quadrant. TEC's original design had ten shipyards, but with a shortage of supplies and help, the shipyard was cut down to five yards. The initial design failed to hold together and was redesigned. The second design held and work went underway. It was completed and supplied the Tarsonian Quadrant with warships until the Tarsonian Quadrant was forcibly returned to the Federation. During the Battle of Hyta, a revolt took place on the station and a rebel who supported the Federation, shut down the defenses, which allowed the Federation to board the shipyards without much damage to the yards. As part of the negotiations with Hyta, the shipyard was repaired, upgraded and turned over to Hyta instead of Tarsonis. Hyta applied for a shipyard expansion, which was granted, and the shipyard was expanded to ten yards.

The HEC originally had five shipyards, as built by the Tarsonian Quadrant, and after Hyta applied to have the shipyards expanded, the number of shipyards were doubled. There are two large shipyards, four medium shipyards, and four small shipyards.

The second section of the newly commissioned Eighth Armada is set to be constructed at HEC.

Inbound
Several warships of the Galactic Alliance Armada revert to realspace on an inbound course with the shipyards. Many of the ships are damaged, some severely, while others are towing some ships. The damaged warships are towed into the yards to undergo repairs.

The repairs on the Tigon-Class Battlecruiser and one of the Marshall Class Destroyers are completed and the ships are towed out of the yards, where they then jumped to lightspeed for Dojouro.

Shipyards
The ships idling in the shipyards following the final battle with the Creators were towed out of the yards after the repairs were completed. The ships then jumped to lightspeed to their various assignments.
