Okay, if someone will please explain to me the wonderful-ness of Karin, I'm more than willing to listen. I really don't want to hate her character like I did to Sakura at the beginning of the series for the simple fact that I got proved completely wrong about her. I want to like Karin... but there's something about her that just irks me. *coughshe'sclingycough*
So... anyone up to defend her? *looks around*

Thank you for that, Dustbunny-hime. ^^ I feel a lot better about Karin now. I actually got a bigger kick out of the comments after the "essay" than the actual thing itself, but oh well. I can definitely see her in a more positive... or entertaining light.

You're welcome. I was surprised to find the essay myself, especially since the girl who wrote it doesn't get online much any more. Then again, a good bit of the fandom flew off the handle about Karin right way, and the essay is in response to the bashing. It's really not even the tip of it; there was a Karin fan club, a Karin hate club, a SasuKari fan club, SuiKarin fan club, JuuKarin fan club, KariSaku fan club, KariIno fan club and a NaruKari fanclub (and possibly a few hate clubs involving the aforementioned pairings, I'm not sure) at Narutofan within a couple of weeks of Karin's appearance. None of this is to mention the monopoly she held over the manga section of the forums and the talk about her in other clubs. Since then... it's just crazy. The boys have gotten their fair share of attention, too, I daresay, but I'm inclined to think that Karin's share is just a bit unbalanced in her favor xp

I'm not surprised about all of that. I find it funny that there was a Karin fan/hateclub right off the bat since we didn't know much of anything about her then. xD
Anyway, my respect for her has grown a bit and I look forward more now to seeing her involvement in the series. lol And now, I at least like every character in the series. New achievement for a series. I'm pretty proud of myself. :3

Ah, yes "Why I think much of the current Karin bashing is premature"
Mizura is REALLY a great writer - she wrote "Because I Am Here", the NaruSaku manifesto, she wrote a Hinata essay, the "Why I dislike NaruHina as a Hinata fan" essay...I talked to her yesterday on NarutoFan, in the NaruSaku FC. T'was fun. <3
