Cause of the Month

June 'o7
Party/Get Together Safety For the Ladies

About it:
A lot of women, each year, get date raped or raped without even knowing they were. Why? Parties! Drinking! Etc.! The summer is here and we ladies need to stick together and uphold some standards. It's not just what the guys can do to you, it's what you might to to yourself. We need to be aware of our surroundings and make sure SOMEONE knows where we are, in case of emergency. Yes, you want to have fun, but how can you have fun if you're being violeted, drunk out of your mind, or driving home drunk?

Women, it's time to take a stand and take care of ourselves. I know I wanna go clubbing this summer season, but I'm not taking ANY risks.

Keeping it Green

About it: Our planet is changing everyday. Recently, our world's climate has gone up a degree. Natural weather is changing as we speak. Even smaller bodies of water are no longer freezing. The ice caps are melting. Some parts of the planet are slowly sinking.

What's more important now?

Orphans, Homeless, & Families in Need

About it: More than 26% of the population of children, around the world are orphaned. Many are homeless, even in our own countries, whether third world or not. And there are always families in need. This is the month to show them we care about their well-being. It is the time to give and provide warmth. =]

~Suggestions?~

If you ladies have any question or suggestions about our first topic or cause for concern for this month (and most summer months/holiday celebrations), please feel free to discuss!

I know a lot of girls think "that totally won't happen to me", but you'll be surprised.

I also have advice for girls who have been raped: Don't wait a long time to tell someone. Tell as soon as you can, despite threats. If you are in custody and under police protection no one can harm you. =)

Perhaps this months cause should have something to do with Christmas?
I'm not sure. The only cause I can think of right now is the Invisible Children in Uganda. ;-; Those poor poor children.

I think the Invisible Children in Uganda are an excellent idea for February. o.o'''

I agree with doing something to show support for the children of Uganda in some way

Besides the children in Uganda, we can also think about the genocide in Darfur. A lot of people are putting a lot of effort to get international support, but it's not really working.
