Coral was out on the beach as she was looking for someone to make laugh. Only thing was she couldn't leave the water for too long at a time. Still, she had too look. Maybe she'd find someone who got her jokes?

Yali was out on the beach collecting seashells when she noticed a funny-looking Pae'il in the sand. She had a tail! Her curiosity sparked, Yali abandoned the conch she had been holding and walked over to girl. "Hi, nice to meet you. I'm Yali," she said. "What's your name? And what are you?" she asked, not realizing that her curiosity was a bit, (okay, a lot) rude.

Coral beamed as she saw the demon. "Hello. I'm Coral and I'm glad to be back on the beach." She giggled and bowed. Then the child held out her hand. "I'm a Naiad. I'm a part fish in water."

"And I'm a demon who's glad to be out exploring," Yali giggled, as she shook Coral's hand enthusiastically. "Part-fish, wooooow, and I can't even swim!" Yali exclaimed, impressed. She snuck a darting glance to the naiad's tail, and wondered what it would be like to be part-fish.

When Coral shook her hand she made a slight shock and buzz. She giggled at it. "Really swimming is't too hard. Unless you have skin of a stone." That was ment to be a joke.

Yali giggled, both at the little shock, and at the joke. "If you had a skin of stone, how would you move?" she pondered aloud. "And by the way, that's a really cool trick you did there! How'd you do it?" Yali asked, inspecting the hand that had been shocked.

Coral thought about that for a moment. "I don't really know. I guess there has to be rock people if there are fish ones." It made sense to her.
"Oh, it's my power. Just a funny joke I use on people I meet. Was it funny? I'm going to be a comedian." Coral explained to Yali.

Yali pondered in return. "I don't know about rock people, but I bet someone might have a power like that," she shrugged. There were so many different powers, you just could never know.
"Wow, cool power! Well, it definitly tickled, so it made me laugh. Does that count?" she asked. Yali took a good look at the naiad, and smiled, "I bet you'll be an amazing comedian."

Coral beamed that was just what she wanted to hear. "Thank you, thank you." She said with a bow. "Want to hear a joke? Knock Knock or any other?" She asked the demon girl with a smile.

Yali smiled, amswering. "Okay, how about an "other" joke?" She only understood half of the knock knock, and Yali didn't want to hurt Coral's feelings by not laughing.

"Oh, okay." Coral wasn't having much luck with the young understanding her jokes. Knock Knock was better, but she'd try anything.
"What do you get when a falling star lands in the sea?"

Yali scratched her head and pretended to think for a moment, as seemed to be required with jokes, then shrugged and asked, "I don't know, what?"

Coral smiled. Here it came the punchline. "A starfish!" She then giggled and laughed at her own joke. Coral stopped and looked at Yali to see if she was laughing to or not.

It took a few moments for the joke to click, but once it did, Yali laughed out loud, exclaiming, "Ohhh! I get it! Hey, that's pretty good!" Giggling, she asked, "Could you tell me another one?"

"Thanks! I'm glad you liked it." Which Coral was really glad about. "Well, okay. Just a moment." She was going to have to think of one. She put her hand to her head and thought.
