Can you elaborate a little bit on what you mean by this thread? x.x I guess you have something you want us to discuss, but you need to give us a little more to go on. :0
So far I would assume you must mean the end of the world and Jesus's return? There's no way to call them liars on that exactly if he 'doesn't show' because according to the Bible we cannot expect or now the time of his return. He can show up whenever he damn well please in other words, so there's no way to say he didn't show. :] Everything about God can pretty much get the standard explanation- "We cannot comprehend his master plan, God is all-knowing and we have only finite minds." Or maybe you meant after death or something. I dunno.

Even if Christians are wrong and there is no afterlife, there's no real use for a back-up plan, is there?
I mean, they already kicked the bucket. What else can you do?

I can imagine them using this excuse:
Jesus doesn't look good in modern attire.
But personally, I don't exactly care to see Jesus wearing K-Swiss and Jupiter-sized pants around his knees.

my question is..do they really need a back up plan? If their true belivers in their religion i doubt they'll even take one, it'll just mean its not the worst of the apocalypse..i guess.

I'm fairly sure the Bible says the Kingdom of God would come before some of his original apostles died.
