As Carlos Mencia said, "What guy doesn't like hoes?" His answer was no guy. While he may not be 100 percent accurate, he does have a point. Hoes are a way of having sex without having to go through the whole process of taking her out to dinner and five dates and then afterwards having brunch with her friends. Only, when you make it illegal, it turns it into a dirty and unsafe thing. If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns and if you outlaw fly-fishing, your father will buy his flies from the mafia.
All over the world prostitution is happening and in many places it is still legal. You want to know why? Because people enjoy having sex and it gives them pleasure. If the government forbids a way of getting pleasure, it only makes the business shady and less safe, but people are still going to find a way to do it. That’s why there is even prostitution in the Middle East, were it is punishable by death. In fact, prostitution used to be legal in the United States. It still was in most states until early 20th century. Around 1910, most states decided to ban it. Why? Same reason as most prohibitions, whether it be alcohol, drugs or prostitution, in this country Religious fanatics and politicians sticking their nose into other people business (I guess genitals in this case). In a recent poll, 50% of Americans were opposed to prostitution. I bet they didn't know that the Catholic Church once supported its own system of prostitution.
One of the “Christian”* ideals that made it illegal is because many Christians aquianted sex with sin. In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve ate the apple and then they were cast down from the garden. Eve got pregnant afterwards. Some where in the fabric of time, someone though, “Hrm, they fell from grace and later had sex. Therefore sex = sin. And sin made us lose paradise.” However, no of us would be here without sex or immaculate conception and I don’t see Jesus around here, so that means all of you. Some people blame St. Augustine for coming up with the idea of sex equaling sin. He made it out to be that sex was a venereal disease called “original sin.” And as I said above, until Reformation, there were brothels owned by the Catholic Church.
Isn't prostitution just sex between consenting adults for money? Where the guy doesn't have to talk to her afterwards because she leaves?
Now, I would like to introduce a women in the fight to legalize prostitution, who’s name always makes me smiles, Scarlet Harlot. No matter how awesome her name is, she is serious about this issue. She represents the commission on the status of women on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. She also writes for law journals and attends government meetings. She has been a prostitute for twenty-five years. She thinks the government made it illegal because they want to control our sexuality. She also thinks that if we were to legalize prostitution, business codes would be made and that would make it safer for everyone.
Let’s take Kimberly as an example. Kimberly, recently on HBO’s show called “Bullshit,” is a prostitute (Link for video is at the bottom). Well, not officially, she is an escort. The majority of prostitutes call them selves things like “escorts” or “xxx masseuses” or something else legal sounding and they put up an ad on the internet.
Kimberly is 25 and has been an escort since she was 23. She loves her job because while she enjoys the sex, she enjoys even more making people happy and that makes her happy. She also loves being able to set her own schedule. Kimberly makes enough money to live comfortably and pay for school each year. One of her regular clients is “Erin.” In order to get ready for him, she brushes her teeth, makes the bed, sets the mood with candles, light candles, gets out her “toys” and makes sure she has plenty of condoms. Her session cost 300 dollars, less than a show and dinner in any big city, but which is better is up to you. Erin left happy that day and she was happy too. There is one thing Kimberly has major fears about, and it is being arrested and having her freedom taken away.
In Nevada, prostitution is still legal. In this post, I’ll be taking a look at mainly the Wild Horse Resort and Spa in Nevada, which is a legal brothel. But, I’ll tell you some more about that later.
George Carlin said it best when he asked "why is it illegal to sell something that is perfectly okay to give away for free?" In a sense, if you want to have sex with a female, usually you have to take her on a few dates and pay for them. So isn't that prostitution anyway?
Actually the five main things that people say are risks for prostitutes and is why it shouldn't be legalized are:
arrow Human Rights Violations
arrow Extreme Danger
arrow Disease
arrow Exploitation and
arrow Slavery
Now let's correct these misconceptions.
Human Rights Violations
Well first, it is the woman's body and she gets to do with it what she wants to. It isn’t the government’s job to tell her who she can have sex with without money, so why should it be if money is a part of it? The Constitution has a place for prostitution, as I’m sure some of the founding father’s did wink . What if it is a whore’s pursuit of happiness to have sex with whoever they want in private for money? Pursuit of happiness isn’t limited to having kids and growing old while owning a store. So, actually, the Human Rights Violation is in making prostitution illegal, not making it legal.
But besides the pursuit of happiness, many believe that there could be a place for prostitution in the Constitution. In 1965, the Supreme Court case of Griswold v. Connecticut covered the right of privacy for married couples to use birth control. In 1973, that was extended to abortion in Roe v Wade. A few years ago, in Lawrence v Texas, the right of sexual privacy was extended to same-sex couples. Many of those who fight for the decriminalization of prostitution think that it should be extended for consenting adults to have the sexual privacy as part of a monetary transaction.
Okay, remember the Wild Horse? That brothel I just mentioned? Well if you were to walk in, you’d be surprised. It isn’t full of seedy looking character and girls who are heartbroken. If you were to go in, you’d see a lobby as nice as any you’d find at a three or four star hotel. It even has a moose head mounted on the wall. No Human Right Violations here. The women come freely and are allowed to leave this job or profession any time they want without harassment. They even get their regulated hour lunch break. Mmm…..lunch.
Extreme Danger
Violence is a bad thing for anyone, including prostitutes and that is why many people say prostitution should remain illegal. However, making prostitution illegal makes it much more dangerous for any woman who would want to choose it. If someone wants to hurt them or kill them, can they go to the police? If someone rapes them, can they go to the police? The answer is No because prostitution is illegal. Remember Scarlet Harlot? *tee hee* (I love saying that name) Anyway, she WAS raped when she was a prostitute and she didn’t go to the police. She thinks that is prostitution were legal, it would be much safer because it is a huge deterrent to someone who might hurt them when the police would be on their asses.
But not only is it a deterrent for the criminals, the legalization of prostitution makes the whole entire place safer. The Wild Horse has big iron gates, a security system, intercoms and security personnel to keep everything and everyone safe and to keep the bad people out.
Disease
I have no doubt that someone will or has said in this or other related threads something along the lines of.
Quote:
OMG, Hoes have AIDS and STDs. They have sex and you die. Rofl
Now that may be very true with ILLEGAL prostitutes, but it isn’t with the legal kind. Let’s use the Wild Horse as an example again. There are four main things they do to keep the girls and the guys who buy their services safe.
1. They have a “pecker checker” rule. This means that before having sex, the prostitutes look at guys’ genitals to make sure there are no visible signs of disease.
2. Nevada has a law that all prostitutes must use condoms. It would make sense that if prostitution were legal that it’d be extended through out the country. The use of condoms lowers the risk of getting STDs, AIDS or pregnant.
3. The State of Nevada mandates that the prostitutes get a physical done every week and to have AIDS tests every month. At the Wild Horse, there have been zero cases of AIDS.
4. State laws require that their workplace be clean and sanitary. The prostitutes must even wash their hands after going to the bathroom.
Exploitation
The decriminalization of prostitution would eliminate pimps. Pimps take away money from their prostitutes and can often be violent. If it were legalized, they would have a manager and get to keep a lot more of the money they earned. They also would never be forced to do anything they didn’t like, which could happen in illegal situations. So they do what they want and get more money? Doesn’t sound like exploitation to me. One of the workers at the Wild Horse actually says she is glad she workers there because it gives her more benefits than she otherwise would have had.
Slavery
Remember Kimberly from awhile ago? She said she enjoyed being a prostitute because she made people happy, she organized her own schedule and she made some good money. People buy her services though, not her. They don’t take her home and make her clean their house and do whatever they want. It is like buying a haircut and it was clearly her choice.
Well, let’s see. That’s 1….2….carry the 9…..minus the 6.... oh wait, that’s 5! We solved it. All these reasons why prostitution is bad aren’t valid at all! However, it still is illegal. But communities still arrest these prostitutes and their customers. The communities will place their pictures online and on TV in order to shame them. The police even confiscate their vehicles because they were being "used" in the crime.
But even though the communities try to make those who use prostitution look bad, not everyone who uses prostitutes is a dirty pervert or out to hurt women. There is this retired high school teacher who had worked for 33 years. He is an upstanding citizen and his wife died. He wanted some companionship so he tried dating services. Those failed miserably and his friend suggested an escort service. The retired teacher gave it a try and it gave him that companionship he was looking for. He says he is very simple about his sexual desires and what he needs the most is that sexual intimacy.
But wait! There’s more! Even though I have disproved all the wrong assumptions, there are even more benefits to legalizing prostitution.
Taxes and Jail times
How many prostitutes are there in the United States? I have no idea. But there must be quite a few. Now, since this is an illegal operation, do the pimps or the prostitutes pay income taxes? I’m going to go with no. However, if it is legalized, more money would be going to the government. Also, less money would have to be spent on prisons. Since prostitution is a crime, one probably gets punished by being put in jail. If it isn’t a crime, we have less innocent prostitutes in jail and more money to the government, who is in serious debt right now.
Less wasting of Police time
The Police have enough on their hands. If we add in prostitution, you are just slowing them down from catching real bad guys. Legalize prostitution and you ease the burden on cops so they can focus on catch real criminals and maybe help one of them relax after work.
Like a little kid who has eaten too much sugar, prostitution can’t be stopped. People have a sexual desire and need pleasure. When you forbid this pleasure by using the law, people are still going to seek it. Only now it will be unsafe for everyone involved. Legalizing prostitution stops the Human Rights Violations, reduces the risks of disease, makes it safer for the prostitutes and it helps the prostitute fulfill their right to the pursuit of happiness. There are male prostitutes too and that makes it a human issue and not just a female one. Legalizing it makes it safer for everyone involved and it gives more money to our government and it gives police time to deal with real criminals. If you don’t like it or think it is gross, don’t hire a prostitute. But keep your nose out of everyone else’s business.

Voice your opinion, just please, if you make claims, support it with evidence.

I promise to not ignore anyone in my thread without proper warning first. The only thing right now I will ignore you for is excessive use offensive language which was intended for trolling and perhaps right out spam, including randomnly quoting the whole OP.
Information gotten from: I got a lot of it from a TV show on HBO called "Bullshit!" Now before you claim that none of this valid because they are only magicians, they have devoted their show to debunking common ideas. They have scholars, PHDs and actual prostitutes on this show. If you care to watch it for your self, part 1 ishere and part two is here.
You unfortunately have to register for daily motion to view it. Sorry, but all it takes is an email.

people who have to pay for sex are SO ******** pathetic,
but i think it would be in the best interest of everyone to have this trade regulated by the government. it will be cleaner and safer for women.
