The afternoon sun was beating down hotly against Asherah's back and her waves of hair were doing absolutely nothing to keep her cool. In fact, it seemed as even the fact that they seemed to be consistently wet and bubbly was no help to her as it was, in fact, her body temperature. As the temperature rose...Well, so did everything else.
The mare was currently laying beside the cool water of the lake, praying to whatever deity had decided to be on shift this afternoon, for a gust of wind to bring the cool water over her. She didn't exactly feel like a swim at the moment - she had a thing for the sea, not fresh water and the ocean was not an option for the time being - and so she was doing all she could to keep cool. At least there was shade!

The heat had never been Guilian's friend. Humidity and heat made him sweat, which resulted in his mane and tail becoming limp and flat, plastering themselves to his body in a most unbecoming way. Additionally, his body always looked dull when sweaty, the moisture attracting dust and even flies. While he had always enjoyed attracting things LIKE flies, he prefered those to be mares, not actual flies.
All of these thoughts in mind, he was heading for the lake for the sole reason of keeping himself pristine. There were many shady trees about, and if they would up failing him, he could always go for a swim. The water was much preferably to being dampened with sweat, that much was certain!
At least it wouldn't be long now. As he coasted down towards the lake shore, he could see the sparkle of the blue water, along with the inviting green of the trees. Ah, for a little shade...

Asherah didn't notice the red stallion - she was too busy glaring at the water with her face half scrunched up, willing a breeze to come out of nowhere and be her knight in shining...air. Couldn't be armor as wind had none as far as she could tell. After a few moments, the sea-mare sighed, closed her eyes, and gave up.
It didn't seem like the God of Refreshingly Cool Breezes To Please Mares was even listening. "Damn," she uttered under her breath, tail flicking in irritation and leaving a trail of bubbles. That promptly began popping.

Alighting gracefully on the bank of the lake, Guilian at first took no notice of the blue mare. Upon reaching the water, his priorities included getting a drink, checking his mane for bounce and curl, and shaking out his wings a few times. That dealt with, though...
'Damn.' The word was uttered softly, aye, but with enough force to carry the relatively short distance down the bank to where the stallion was standing. Pricking an ear, he turned quizzically to see the source...and then broke into a wide smile. Perhaps this day wouldn't be so disgusting AFTER all.
The speaker was a mare. A mare as blue as the water she stared into, with a mane that seemed to crinkle and...bubble? That was strange. Or was he imagining things? Always a possibility...But he doubted he was imagining her presence.
She didn't seem aware of his, however...so it was time to fix that. "Something wrong, Chica?"

The voice that floated towards her and was asking if something was wrong knocked her out of her mental rant to the deities and she narrowed her eyes up at him. How dare she be interrupted? Seemed like the mare that took after the sea was in one of those 'dark' moods that the ocean usually got into. "Oh, yes, I wouldn't be cursing otherwise now would I?"
She huffed softly and closed her aqua colored eyes. Damned heat, getting her all irritable. All she wanted to do was slide into some water but the sea was so far and she was in a lazy mood.

Ah, so this mare was in a temper...or perhaps she just enjoyed solitude? Either way, Guilian wasn't about to let something such as a hostile greeting get HIM down.
Strolling down the bank, he gave her a smile, replying casually "well, one can never be certain of that, Chica. For all I know, you might be one of those types that curses for emphasis, or uses such words in casual conversation. It's never wise to jump to assumptions when dealing with a total stranger, wouldn't you agree?"
Just because she was grouchy was no need for him to be rude. There was likely a logical reason for her distress, and therefore he, as a gentleman, should do everything he could to help!

"Are you implying that I am one of little moral?" she asked, arching a brow. She never did understand those mares who had 'potty' mouths and used such explicetives freely without there being a strong emotion behind them. She herself never used anything more explicit than 'damn' and even that was reserved for her tempers.
Well, she was what was generally called 'of loose moral' considering she shared her body quite freely when she truly wished to - but that was beside the point. She still never dirtied her mouth.

"Hardly, Chica. And even if you were to embrace the usage of such language freely, I doubt you would view it as anything to be ashamed of. That's the way of it, isn't it? We view the behaviors of others as something to be avoided, but accept our own as natural?" An interesting thought indeed; almost philosphical, in its own way.
However, he was smiling as he spoke, and raised his wings in a placating gesture. "Honestly, Chica, I meant no offense of any sort in anything I said. Rather, I thought you might be upset and wanted to know if there was anything within my power that could help."
Assuming that it was something he could DO.

Asherah just kind of stared at him. She had absolutely nothing to say to that, no way to respond. How did one really respond to that? Right now she wasn't in the mood for philosophical discussions - she was in the mood for something cool and the fact that the Gods were not listening to her was frustrating.
Eyes were narrowed for a moment at his 'apology' - not that it was one - before her features softened a little bit. "Unless you can call a breeze that will alleviate this damned heat or make the ocean move closer there is nothing that you can do to help, I'm afraid."

Aha, a positive sign! It was a slight one, true, but when one was dealing for the first time (or even NOT the first time) with a hostile female, every little bit helped.
Her pique was of interest, though, as was her response. The comment about the sea was especially interesting, given the close and immeadiate proximity of the lake. Or maybe she didn't like the lake, for some reason?
Oh well. Still smiling, he gave the mare a wink before spreading wide his rather abundant wings, fanning them towards her once to stir up a light breeze. "Well, I can't call one, Chica, but I could probably fabircate one, at least for the time being. The ocean, however, is likely beyond my abilities."
At least for the moment. Perhaps eventually... "Perhaps this small bit will be of use, though."

As the first gusts of fabricated air blew towards her, her face melted into what appeared to be the epitome of absolute delight. Her eyes rolled back, she smiled, and she was quiet and still. Perfection! Why hadn't she thought of that? Of course it was unlikely that her own wings would be of much assistance at the moment considering moving them would just create more heat for herself with the effort but...
"I love you," she murmured softly after a moment, basking in the temporary relief from the scorching weather. Bad mood seemed to be dissipating at an alarming rate - but definitely a good thing. Asherah could be as violent as the sea when her temper was up and...The sea could be pretty horrifying when properly tossing things around.

It didn't take a genius to see the pleasure in the mare's expression as the breeze from Guilian's wings washed over her. Consequently, he maintained the action at a somewhat steady pace, flapping his wings with enough force to keep the breeze pleasant but not so hard that it would fling up dust. An easy enough gesture to maintain, all things considered.
Besides, what wasn't to like about helping out a mare in need?
Her reaction was amusing, however. Grinning, he couldn't resist the unique deadpanning opportunity it created. "You know, usually I have to work a lot harder to get that out of a mare, Chica; obviously I should have tried being a cabana boy much earlier on in my life!"

She let out a melodic laugh, "So you're one of those stallions who gives into the physical pleasures often I take it?" Eyes opened to look at the red stallion and a smirk touched her lips. Now that she wasn't as blazing hot she was in a much better mood and not likely to bite him.
Not that she blamed him. With the beauty in this place, the female didn't think anything of it. Oh, she indulged as well. Asherah was a firm believer in pleasure; she was embracing and giving just like the sea. Passionate, she welcomed the return of it with open arms. It seemed to be Guilian's lucky day.

If Guilian was a user rather than a lover, he likely would have been less honest. As it was, however...he was proud of his lifestyle and saw nothing wrong with it; therefore, there was nothing to hide.
Still fanning her, he greeted her question with a smug, sensual smile, the sort that was likely highly recognizable to anyone even remotely familiar with the fleshier pleasures of life. "Well, Chica...I'd have to say that that depended on what you considered to be 'often.' I am, however, a true devotee of the female form..." Accompanying the words was a deliberate perusal of the mare's body; he doubted she was trying to trick him, because who would want to? No, rather he took her at face value...and body value, for that matter.

Oh, it was recognized all right - and appreciated. "Mmm." she responded, shifting her eyes back and forth to appreciate the stallion in return. He obviously took care of himself unlike a few that she'd met recently and it simply made her return the smile - the same kind of smile he was certain to recognize himself.
"Tell me, Red, what's your name?" Asherah was not planning to return the favor, of course, but while she liked a little mystery to herself it did not go the same with others. Oh no, she liked knowing her acquaintances names.
