I really want to know why she was at Santa Rosa with Hurley. They really never did tell her story and I want to know it.

AttemptedPerfection Mabey she was an under cover shrink? LOL. Well, that's one theory I've definitely never heard before! Interesting, but highly unlikely. My best guess is that her husband just died, and she was so upset about it that she tried to commit suicide or just wasn't taking care of herself, so they put her in a mental institution.

mabey it was because of a mental problem so they sent her to Santa Rosa instead.

*crazy theory alert* i thought that her husband might be dave (the guy hurley keeps hallucinating) dave may have been one of the people hurley accidentally killed when the deck collapsed, and his guilt causes him to keep seeing him. anyway, i thought libby looked somewhat . . . sinister, when we see her in the mental hospital -- perhaps she was driven crazy by the death of her husband, or wanted revenge on hurley, or maybe a little of both. the only problem then is why she doesn't act this way when they are on the island together, unless her mental condition causes her to forget, have multiple personalties, etc.
i think she mentioned her husband's name in the desmond flashback episode (when she gives him the boat) but i'm too lazy to go look it up right now -- does anyone remember the name?
