Set after Edward talks to Roy about... things. Hence the title.
RP between Ed and Kitsyn, possibly open for others.. ask. X3

Well that was hardly productive, Ed mentally muttered to himself. It took him all that time to find Mustang, only to be told that he had no idea what happened. The annoyance was clear on his face as he walked through the woods alone, near the HQ... although his line of travel was taking him back to Lilianna's house. He promised her that he would be back after talking to Roy... although he didn't say how long that would be.
He really had no answers for the questions he started with, and it simply frustrated him. What had happened to Alphonse? Mustang was an idiot. Remembered most everything... yeah right. Either the guy really didn't remember everything, or was a fool (highly possible), or there was something he wasn't telling Ed... (ever more possible). Hm. Then the jerk had the nerve to try and be all buddy buddy with him. HA! As if he would come to -him- for advice or an... 'ear to lean on' as he had put it.

Kitsyn was following Ed's tracks with single-minded determination. His tracks were easy to follow, after all... one front, one back on the opposite side making much heavier marks. Automail did that sorta thing.
Fortunately he didn't seem to have gone far from the HQ yet, which the red-scarfed femme was grateful for. Trel's place was a looooooooong walk. She spotted him ahead and bounded forward, intentionally making noise enough to make her presence known. "Heeeey Eddo!"
She skidded to a stop a few feet from him, panting slightly to catch her breath. "Was worried you mighta taken off already!" Sure... he didn't know her, and she didn't know him, not personally at least, but... really, he was hard to miss. "Atae got herself hurt, she asked me to come find you. Said something about you oughta know where our place is anyway." She grinned in a friendly manner. "She also mentioned something she said she'd do for ya earlier... part of why she wanted me to come find you. She's sorta stuck in bed."
The exact details would have to wait until they were on their way... Kitsyn wasn't too keen on random passers-by overhearing parts of this.

Edo? o_O Hearing the japanese version of his name, Ed stopped and looked behind him in confusion. Nobody that he knew of, called him 'Edo'. The teen looking a bit dumbfounded as a femme kitsu pranced up to him. "Uh... do I know you?" he asked with a blink of his golden eyes.
However, as she mentioned Atae, his ears turned forwards. "She's stuck in bed? Why?" his expression and voice taking on a bit of concern. "Sure, I'll come." Lilianna could wait a bit longer... besides.. she probably had enough going on for her at the moment. What with Endless' recent confession and all... wait... didn't Atae live with Endless? Oh drat. Well.. he should atleast check up on Atae.

"Kitsyn," she replied to his queery about knowing her or not, "And we've never met. Feel like I know you, though." She snorted slightly and waved him after her.
Why? Weeeell why Atae was stuck in bed was an eeeentirely unhappy subject. "She doesn't remember all the details. She found Terasu, but he got attacked one of the Envy-spawn, and when she tried to help him... well, you know how light Atae is, and she's definitely not much of a fighter. She got smacked and landed wrong and got a broken wrist and some cracked ribs for her trouble. She remembers getting out of the way, but not what happened before Terasu found her again. I found them at HQ not too long ago, took Atae home and she asked me to find you." She knew little Atae had gotten off light, but the girl seriously needed to learn some self defense or... something.
By this point they'd gotten off the main path and on a side path that wound around for a while into the trees until they'd eventually hit the Place. Since she couldn't really give him any more details about what had happened to Atae she decided to... broach the more sensitive topic. "Atae said you're looking for your brother?" Let's start off simply, shall we?

Edward blinked as she said it felt like she knew him, the alchemist committing her name to memory. This must be another one of the kitsu that Atae lives with. To tell the truth... Edward barely knew most of the kitsu that he supposedly lived with... nevermind the detail that he didn't return to his caretaker's abode often. Edward was a free spirit... independant and always wanting to be on the move.
As he listened to what happened with Atae, Edward's brows furrowed in silent anger, muzzle downturning in a frown. "Seems like the apple doesn't fall from the tree" he intoned. Although Edward hadn't seen any of these Envy spawn yet.
Her next statement caught him off guard, blinking in shock. This Kitsyn really seemed to know a lot. Her source likely being Atae.. maybe Endless as well. The teen also making a mental note to be careful what he says to them, lest he not want certain information to become public knowledge.
"Yeah" was his eventual reply, while following after her onto the path and in the assumed direction of her and Atae's dwelling.

Oh, Ed, Ed, Ed. Kitsyn knew more about Ed than Atae did. Not that she usually made things like THAT known even to her housemates. Ifrit and Valefor knew, but they kept their mouths firmly shut about it. Though she supposed Ed was about to find out. At least she was about 97% sure he was safe to tell.
"Well; sometimes those that have a Before show up all once, see? Sometimes they don't. Especially if they didn't die at close to the same time. So, the fact he's not here yet is probably a good indication he didn't get it when you did." He was probably wondering if Atae was responsible for all this info or not by now. Best clear it up... "He's on his way. Just... a ways off. I can't get a clear timeframe on the radar, so to speak." If his jaw wasn't already hitting the ground... "Winry's on her way, too, by the way. And if it makes you feel better, none of the other homunculus have made their way here aside from the two, either. I checked for them too, after the way I found Atae earlier."
Now; would Ed put 2 + 2 together and get five and realize Kitsyn probably knew more than Atae or Endless could have told her? He wouldn't be comfortable with it if he did, she was sure, but there wasn't much she could do. He deserved to know the rest of what she'd found out, too.

Ed wasn't a child prodigy for nothing. He was already starting to wonder as he continued to listen. The teen stopped in his tracks, eyes wide and expression full of emotion as she spoke of Al... and even Winry. They were both on their way? And Al... he might have lived (after his own death), after all? This was a lot for Edward to take in and he had to sit down. So he did.
"How do you know?" he then asked, his voice slightly shakey. He realized that this was the kitsu that Atae had spoken of... who could tell him if Alphonse would come. She had done just that. It gave him hope, knowing that the three of them would be together again. As he waited for her answer, he also wondered of Al's physical state... would he be in the flesh again or would he still be a soul confined to a suit of armor? Edward still bore his automail.. but he wished with all his being that Alphonse wouldn't have to endure the existance he was forced into after they tried to bring back their mother.

Kitsyn stopped and sat after seeing Ed's stunned response. "I can... listen to the ether? I don't really know how else to put it." She hmmed for a moment. "I seem to know about... several of the Befores, too. Bits and pieces, mostly, though. I think I'm sort of like... a jigsaw puzzle with pieces from different worlds, and some that never had a world until now. At least, that's the only explanation I can think of." She shrugged and tilted her head, grinning a bit. "It's really rather... troublesome, running into people I know but I don't... know. So I generally keep my mouth shut. But Atae asked, and I figured you deserved to know about the rest."
She sighed after a moment. "If it had been Envy, Atae probably wouldn't be alive, would she?"

Another kind of magic or something, Edward assumed, is what allowed Kitsyn this sort of power. He'd never been one to believe in such things.. but well... this world was far different from the one he'd come from. "I bet" was his answer to her confession that it was rather troublesome. He gave her a crooked grin, before rising to his paws, ready to resume their journey now that the shock had apparently warn off.
The question of Envy caused him to draw his ears back. "Its hard to say... sometimes he likes to toy with others and make them suffer than just kill them outright." Although in most instance, Envy did like to just do away with whomever he saw fit. Edward himself was one of the ones that Envy liked to 'toy' with... although the homunculus had been the one responcible for his death in his previous existence.

Kitsyn nodded and led on. "I guess you'll have to track Terasu down if you want anymore details about what happened... but either way, I'm glad it wasn't Envy. She would have been hurt a lot worse at the very least."
Finally the Place loomed into view, a rather plain looking, if very large, white house. "Ta-da! ...It's more colorful on the inside." Speaking of which... she shoved the door open to reveal a living scattered with seating varying from couches to chairs to giant bean-bags. It was late enough that most of the residents seemed to have gone to bed, though Ifrit seemed to have forgotten to do so before he fell asleep on the bean-bag he currently overflowed. Fortunately, he wasn't snoring this time.
Kitsyn sweatdropped at seeing him though, and walked over to smack him upside the head. "Dude, go to bed! I don't want you burning the house down in your sleep!" The Aeon jerked awake, blinked sleepily, and yawned before standing to walk over to the door down to the basement. With his eyes closed. He bumped horns first into the wall next to the door, woke up a little more, and opened his eyes so he could safely proceed downstairs. It was when he turned to close the door from the other side that he spotted Ed and grinned, giving a slight wave before yawning again, shrugging apologetically, and shutting the door.
Kitsyn shook her head exasperatedly and led the way do a different door and then down a short hallway, where she stopped to knock at another door that had what looked like soot smudges near the bottom.
Atae gave a weak-sounding "Come in" when Kitsyn knocked on the door, but her ears came up and she wagged her tails a bit when she saw Ed. "Ed!..." She winced when she started to sit up and flopped back down on her cushion. "Ah... I'd get up but..."

He gaped a bit at the size of the house once they stood outside of it. This is the biggest house he's seen in awhile. Certainly bigger than what Trel's house looked like from the outside.. but then.. they knew how it worked on the inside.. so outward size hardly mattered.
Following Kitsyn inside, he paused to look around... and smirked amusedly at Ifrit as he sleepily bumped into a wall.. waved.. and then deperated. He continued to follow Kitsyn to the room that Atae was apparently in, soon making his way inside once give the okay to do so.
"Hey" was Edward's quiet reply to her greeting as he came up alongside the injured kitsu. "How're you holding up?" The teen looking over Atae and noting her injuried with a frown. Look like she was banged up pretty good. But then, no less can be expected from any spawn from Envy. It was safe to assume that anything from him, likely acquired some of his... charming traits.

Atae smiled, a bit more genuinely than might have been expected. "Better... my paw is straight again and Kitsyn gave me something so it doesn't hurt as bad."
She looked over at the larger femme, who waggled her eyebrows and then announced she was going to hang in the main room and let them chat for a bit. Atae smiled a bit wider. "Okay... see you later."
Once Kitsyn had gone Atae gingerly lifted her arm to display her cast/splint. "So I... guess I'm not a coward after all?" Then her face lit up. "Oh, what did she tell you?... I fell asleep before she finished earlier and she went to get you before I woke up again..."

Sitting himself down, Edward nodded vaguely as she said that she was doing better. The injuries looked painful, but certainly not life threatening. Atae would be fine... she was lucky she got out of that fight with just those injuries. Envy has had a particularly nasty encounter with Envy before... so it doesn't surprise him that his spawn were capable of inflicting a great deal of harm as well.
The teen raised his brows, "Coward? Of course not.. who told you that?" Edward hadn't thought her a coward in the least. She was shy and quiet, but that didn't make her a coward.
"Ah.. well. She said that my brother and a friend of mine are on their way here. But she couldn't really tell when." He smiled, truely relieved and happy that it was certainly possible for him to be with Alphonse and Winry again.

Atae frowned and looked a bit sheepish when he asked who'd told her she was a coward. "...I did. I was scared of everybody... I kept trying to be braver. I guess it worked?" Whether she'd really been a coward or just felt like one... she just felt better knowing she wasn't just going to run away all the time if a friend got in trouble.
"Oh really?" Atae's face lit right back up after Ed told her what Kitsyn had said. "That's great!" Her tails wagged even as she glared down at her wrist. "I hope I can get out to go meet them by the time they get here..."
Suddenly she caught herself yawning and looked aghast. "Ack! I'm sorry..." She kept getting sleepy. She didn't care if her body had to rest to heal itself, she wanted to be awake for more than 15 minutes. x.x!

She told herself that? But atleast she'd proven herself wrong, and Edward smiled. "I guess so. You're not a coward" he told her resolutely. After all... a coward wouldn't have been there for him like she had the other day. He was certainly appreciative to her for that. Ed was coming to realize what good friends he had in this life, and was certainly glad to have them. "Just try not to get yourself hurt next time, okay?"
He laughed lightly at her interest in meeting Al and Winry. "I'm sure you will. I promise I'll introduce you, okay?" When she yawned though, he frowned lightly. She should be resting, he realized. "Its alright.. I'll let you sleep if you want. You need to heal."
